BMW of Santa Maria was the most helpful dealership when we were deciding which PHEV we wanted to purchase. Xavier did a great job of assisting us in building the right car for us. He kept us informed the entire process and had been invaluable in explaining all the features of our new vehicle and helping us get all set up.

I took my wife's car (2017 X5 35d) to BMW Santa Maria after a recall letter saying it could catch on fire if we didn't. They complete the recall and give me no follow on information. I go about 100 miles later to smog it for the annual. They tell me that EGS monitors aren't set so I need to drive it more. I drive it almost 1k miles and take it back. EGS monitors STILL not set. Make another appointment for the dealer to check why. They do their super secret process to reset them while driving my car 34 miles in whatever manner and won't show me the process due to corporate policy, at which time a check engine light comes on and they say it's a #1 glow plug and want me to pay to replace it, plus the diagnostic fee for resetting the monitors which they unset and don't tell you about. A car with only 68k miles that had no light when they got it. So I talk to the manager about why it's my responsibility to fix what happened in their custody as a result of the recall they performed which unset the monitors. He(Emmanuel) accuses me of somehow resetting the codes and not making it pop while they had it until 34 miles later in some scheme to make them pay for maintenance. So I talk to his manager(Rudy) who then tries to convince me that I just misunderstood the accusation somehow. He doesn't confirm when that code popped 34 miles after they had it, I had to take it to another shop to disprove Emmanuel's accusation because Rudy was clearly not interested in digging into the details. Then Rudy says their decision is to not cover the repair cost regardless. When I picked up the car, manager Emmanuel was at the customer service desk and after I note a clear discrepancy he doesn't want to discuss why the paperwork says "customer states check engine light on" when it obviously didn't happen until they drove the car, and rudely tells me who he is and asks me to leave without signing paperwork or correcting the records. So I ask Rudy to find out who added that to my paperwork. He says he'll get back to me the next day with who added that specific language, doesn't do that and I get no communication about it until I ask him specifically 3 business days later, then lies to me and says he sent an email. When I challenge him to produce it by forwarding it again, he says he got confused and overwhelmed by the number of texts. Then he refers me to the same lower manager that already asked me to leave and refused to correct it. I filed a complaint with BWM corporate. Completely unprofessional, poor leadership, and shady management practices in my opinion.

We've come to BMW of Santa Maria twice now due to Jon Shafer. He helped us with our M5 and now our M3. He also helped with a 340 years ago at a different dealer. Over the times he's helped us, he's made each and every time a special experience. His thoughtfulness, professionalism, and utmost care is something truly rare not even in the automotive industry, but in life! I honestly can say, he's the only car salesman that I truly and wholeheartedly call a friend. Thank you Jon for all that you do to make these car buying experiences go smoothly. You really are the best!

HUGE THANKS to Edgar for helping me build and get my dream car, BMW M4 Competition xDrive.I've contacted several dealership in SoCal and NorCal just to get this car but didn't get any luck,fortunately Edgar Martinez of BMW Santa Maria reached out and helped me get my dream car.He has been very helpful from start to finish, answered every question I have and always kept me informed of the status of my car build.and after almost 3 months of wait car finally arrived and it was delivered to methe way I asked, BMW Santa Maria TEAM and Edgar Martinez was a delight to work with.definitely coming back here for future business

I took my e60 550i here for a intermittent no crank no start diagnostic over the phone they said 190$ but when I got there they said that because my car is a v8 they would have to charge me double for a diagnostic so now the total was about 380$ but because I was desperate to figure the issue out and I have no problem paying for quality work I accepted. My car was there for about 2 weeks they told me that the starter was likely the issue and wanted 2500$ for it of course I said heck no that’s insane and I had a funny feeling that the starter wasn’t the issue. I took the car then to a different shop who diagnosted it for 95$ turns out there was so much filth on the battery posts that sometimes the car wouldn’t make contact cause it to occasionally not start. So in conclusion the dealer ship robbed me of 380$ because they gave me a false diagnostic I would have had no issue paying that if they actually found the issue instead of attempting to scam me out of 2500$ for something they just guessed would fix the issue. It’s been over a year now since I went and I NEVER replaced the starter the starter works completely fine they simply wanted to rob me of more money. NEVER go here I was willing to pay more because I thought the work would be higher quality and the people were more educated but obviously not. Stay away from here unless u want false diagnostics.

Found my car online but I live 300 miles away. I clicked the link for more information and got an immediate, personal reply. Over the next 24 hours I continued shopping other dealers, and requested more info periodically. On request I was sent numerous pictures, got a quote, made an offer, and was accepted all via text messaging. I never felt pressured in the least, was replied to promptly, and treated as professionally as anyone could hope for.After my offer was accepted, they took a deposit over the phone and with 20 minutes I was electronically signing all of my paperwork. The next day I flew down to pick up the vehicle. They picked me up from the airport, brought me to the dealership where the car was fully prepped and fueled waiting for me. Ten minutes of paperwork in the Finance office and it was off to orientation. Again, nothing was forced - we only did what I needed to learn to drive the car home, but I also know I could have taken as much time with them as I wanted to.Edgar was my sales rep (also my driver from the airport) and was simply awesome through the whole process. He knew my car inside and out, was super easy to talk with and very helpful. Jesus in finance was amazing as well - incredibly efficient and great to deal with. Also want to thank Matthew for taking care of everything throughout the process, getting the deal done, and coordinating transportation for me. There was never any of the salesmanship tactics, just friendly professionals who made me feel at home, all while working around some unique issues.I can't recommend this dealership highly enough!

Buying a new car from BMW of Santa Maria was an amazing and fun experience (shoutouts to Luis, Bijan, and Jesus)! So we live in NorCal and have been interested in purchasing a performance BMW for quite some time and online car browsing somehow brought us to BMW of Santa Maria. They had THE car with all the packages we were looking for, and so we started our inquiry through the phone (not expecting too much given the distance between us and thinking they'd probably prefer local buyers). Luckily Luis picked up right away and all I can say is my day only got better from there. Now normally, in my 15 years of car buying, I can say that the experience is quite mediocre, tiresome, and painfully slow. However, that's NOT what BMW SM was like at all... Luis and his team understood my numbers and needs quickly and worked up a deal that fit me right away, and the rest of the purchasing was pretty much handled virtually from there. Jump to next day, we drove our trade in vehicle (from NorCal to Santa Maria) and literally just signed a few more papers that needed inked signatures in person and picked up our new car. TLDR; BMW of Santa Maria makes car buying fun! We'd drive 400 miles just to buy from them AGAIN if this is their standard! Thanks again, Luis for the great buying experience! Thank you Bijan for showing me the cool features of the car at pickup, and Jesus for your finance magic!
