I have been following Costco every town where I have time to shop. This one came up in the mid trip between greater Los Angeles to the San Francisco. I love the fact that it has gasoline pumps on site, it also has its unique specialty. Believe it or not Costco caters the local population & ethnicities. One time I found in this place a Japanese green tea below regular price elsewhere! This time I found Calrose rice. Costco limits this rice to where it deems more rice consumed area. Other brands of rice will be substituted for this brand based on what ethnicity lives in the area. I like the challenge to discover what each Costco will provide to its local population. So, next time if you happen to be in a Costco, try to play the game of discovery to find the exotic foods & unique items to specific geography while enjoying your saving that Costco will provide you on your bulk-shopping. Cha-ching, there goes your money out of your wallet!

I love the Santa Maria Costco store. I just drove by the old Costco which I used to avoid at all costs because of the parking. The new Costco has loads more parking availability and gas at a great price. Super store, super layout. Thank you Costco

Whoa what an experience here! Everybody was so nice and helpful. I talked to a nice woman, Sarah B with glasses. She was so incredibly caring and helped me find a specific item that I was having trouble finding, even going as far to walk me through the whole store to find it. Kudos to you! A great place, a great environment, and a great store in general. It is well managed and I will be returning. Many many helpful and kind employees at this Costco!

I went to make a purchase, the cashier said I had a hold on my card, I had to go to refunds to find out why. So, I did, the left me standing there asking me about a return I did, I couldn't remember, never said why I was being held. She couldn't find anything. So she let me go .She said to come Back. I said, did I do something wrong? Am I in trouble? She said, we could owe you money or you owe us money. Anyway, I went back they found that the new employee made a mistake and refunded me twice , so I had to pay back pay back $ 13.45 Does Costco need money this bad to put me through this?????I was soo humiliated and scared.

A huge shout out to the Santa Maria Costco hearing aid department! Our poor dad was told it would be 4 MONTHS to have an appointment for a hearing aid. Luckily, this location was able to hook him up for an appointment only 3 weeks out. Thank you ladies for helping my parents!

This review is for the gas station. Not much space to line up behind those people pumping due to a barrier in the back. However, the line moves fairly quickly with 24 gas pumps (8 lanes; 3 pumps per lane). I like how this Costco has the light indicating which pumps are occupied and which ones are available. This was definitely a better experience over the one I had yesterday at the San Luis Obispo Costco gas station. Regular gas here was $5.69/gallon, which is cheaper than $5.79/gallon I paid the day before at Costco San Luis Obispo. Since this Santa Maria location was easier to get in and out of, I will definitely choose this location over Costco San Luis Obispo next time I need to gas up in the area (during a road trip to/from Santa Barbara or further south).

Not sure why this has a 3 star rating - Costco has no equal when it come to quality, prices and service. The only legitimate complaint would be product selection and occasionally very busy. Roy M says he encountered a rude cashier; I've been going to Costco for more years than I can remember and I go several times a week and I've NEVER encountered one. I have to conclude Roy's experience was a very rare exception. The selection issue is a significant one. If you see something you like, buy it quick because a lot of their stock disappears once they sell current inventory. Many items are staples and carried continuously - breads, meats, paper products, etc. Just check Consumer Reports and you'll find almost every department at Costco rates highly

01/29/22 Cashier Ray P. was extremely rude & condescending. I've dealt with many rude Costco cashiers but this guy has to be on top of the assholes who work here. Bit overdue review but needed to be added. Had it drafted but never posted. Nothing will happen anyway lol. Just hope Ray sees this. Fuck you Ray.

Here's the thing. You either love Costco or you hate it. If you love it, it gets five stars. If you hate it, I don't know what to tell you. Anyway, to me their return policy is worth the price of admission. They carry quality products almost all the time. I've gotten a couple of stinkers, but that return policy is for things like this. Depending on which store you frequent, the crowds can be terrible, but the new self checkout really helps. All in all, I fall into the l"love it" camp. I haven't ever had a negative experience with any Costco employee at any Costco I've been to.

Coming from Southern CA I would call this a ghetto Costco. Here are things from a visitor of the area why I give this location 2 stars- -Gas station is a mess gets congested and ruthless from both angles. There is a gas station across the street next to a Popeyes (the Popeyes is solid btw) where gas is roughly the same price. -Food court- no self service like I've seen at other locations leading to crazy lines. -Alcohol section-severely lacking. Dont expect to find any wines from the local tasting rooms from St. Rita hills. I guess that's a good thing for the area. The alcohol in general is of lower quality you're not going to find good bourbon here. Other than that pretty average looking Costco.

This place is a joke. I go there and don't even pay attention to the morons working there. Returns that are "No questions asked" turn into torture by the Gestapo Crystal. That freak gets so happy when she process your return and forms something small you forgot to include Like a instructions manual or a recipe book for the vitamix that I returned. They only understand when you threaten them with a call to a corporate. If I would have a way to buy their stuff all online I would, but Instacart is another group of miscreants who will steal from you and you don't even know who so worse. I don't look towards days I have to go shop there and I spent $86k this year. Go figure who they really value, I bet ya a chicken bake it's not customers. And their freaking STATE OF EMERGENCY behavior when they have forklift doing some loading make me think that they are simply group of losers who hate family people, kids, pet lovers. Your usual gang of divorced dems

The rather large lady name Michelle was extremely racist. Only checking my card at the door while I watched people before and after me not be carded. As a latina, this is unacceptable and frankly very racist. I've noticed that Costco hires poor help
