Remember, the days when Home Depot had call buttons in the aisles for customer service? Gone are those days...guess they learned customers actually do need customer service. In fact orange vest now means I will not make eye contact with you in case you ask me to help you. Repeatedly every time I visit the store, I have to hunt some unwilling associate down to help me and typically get an excuse as to why they can't help me, but they will send someone over, who rarely arrives. Some focus at least a little on customer service would be an incredible upgrade. I'm not asking that an associate follow me around the store, but I think if an associate is walking around the store, laughing with fellow employees, and on their phone they should be trained to ask if there is anything they can do to assist. Home Depot you can do better!

Terrible customer service as per usual with home depot. I hate going to this store and only do so as a last resort. I tried to purchase a smoker and they only had the floor model which I was willing to take. I got nothing but attitude when I showed them one of the racks was bent and the supervisor got an attitude. I decided not to purchase it from them right at that moment.

Ran into the store to buy orange flags to mark sprinklers in my yard. Looked on my own for 15 min in the sprinkler and construction sections, no luck. Ask two (2) employees for help, both send me to the wrong place, even after looking on their hand held device to find the product. Wasted my time with worthless help from uninformed employees. Not going back again if I can ever help it. Lowes is head and shoulders above this store.

Went to our local Home Depot to have 4 keys made and buy flooring. I was able to find a sales associate quickly, who was able to copy my keys and was very nice. Then I was able to get the last 8 packs of flooring I wanted, score! It was a quick shopping visit and I was feeling like a snack and they had my favorite chips at the checkout counter, double score! Lol. Perfect place to get what you need and you can even use self checkout for a quick checkout.

Great store, well stocked all around. Love their garden center...super selection of well priced plants, hoses & tools. Easy check out & returns. And parking! I find the staffing adequate....May have to wait a bit but boy do they know what they are talking about. Very experienced help in the aisles & wow is that helpful. I pick this store over lowes on every comparison basis. Just wish it was closer to home so I could pop in for even small purchases!!

John in appliances is excellent, very helpful plus he knows what he's talking about. They where having multiple problems entering my info into the computer, even a "supervisor" had problems. If we ever return for another appliance I hope he's still there.

Poor customer service. No help available. Floor employees did not seem to care to help me find what I was looking for. Also, this store manager seems to hire a lot if young inexperienced workers. Nothing g wrong with you g workers but give hhenders the proper training and incentives. Have been finding that Lowes is well equipped with caring, knowledgeable employees, especially in the paint, lumber and electrical.

Home Depot is a great company, there are many great stores and employees. The problem is this is not a good store and there are only few good employees. The Santa Maria Home Depot acts like they are the only option in town. Their management is very poor and should be removed. Poor customer service, crowded isles, and dirty store. Lowes- clean store, easy to walk down isles, friendly staff and helpful. Not perfect but compared to Home Depot it is 5/5. Lowes is still new, so hopefully they don't become like the Santa Maria Home Depot. If I were the manager of this store I would be humiliated by the Yelp ratings and reviews. I think they should find another line of work. Only positive reviews are likely from their staff. Go to LOWES

I'd like to shop here but I'm disappointed. Although appliances are a good value, installation is unreliable. This is attempt #2 to make the item I purchased work as indicated. It's $120.00!!! Extra for installing by Home Depot contractor IF they come. I would have wanted to know about this before I bought there. Ruffonis advertises they'll fix what others cannot. They will have my business from now on!

I was buying multiple things. I was trying to find a tool the website said was in stock. I checked where it said the tool was kept. It wasn't there. I talked to four employees. The first told me to check the aisle where the website said it was supposed to be. The second employee said she had never seen the tool which I was showing her on my phone. Offered no help. Third employee said she would call the employee that would be able to help me. That employee (fourth one) looked at the picture on my phone and said, "nope, not me" and walked away. Great job Home Depot.

Older short lady who's a cashier at the front really needs to check her attitude when talking to paying customers. I had larger items which measured 20+ ft on my cart and she had her aisle light on so I went to her and she proceeded to tell me it's closed and shut of the light for her asile. I told her where am I supposed to pay with these large items (it gets in the way of other shoppers) she told me you have to go to the other aisle 8 which was very reduced with my larger items. She gave me a very bad attitude and tone when talking to me. I have a pro account here and none of the cashiers were open. I spend thousands of dollars here with my company each year and after this I will now be shopping with lowes from now on after this incident. To top it off when I was being helped at the other aisle she proceeded to turn on the light for her aisle and assist other customers. Terrible service and to me even seems as discriminatory/racist for not helping me out but helping other customers.

Regrets. Regrets, Regrets I made a purchase for interior doors at Santa Maria HOME DEPOT. The order was never processed and later was cancelled alleging that the price I paid will not be honored since the doors were on clearance. After speaking with customer service, they put me in touch with the assistant manager "ETHAN" to rectify the problem since the order was made at the store and should be handled at the store level. I decided to place a new order replacing the cancelled order and presented it to ETHAN who managed to get another assistant manager "DAVID" involved. Both did agree to a provide $150.00 discount and/or compensation towards the new order as a courtesy credit for failing to honor and fulfill the original order. A new estimate was generated for $1000.00 for the new order, however, I decided a few days later to upgrade to different style and more quality doors and I didn't mind to pay the extra money. I wanted to grant my business to the HOME DEPOT instead of any other vender since this has been my trusted company and my home store for many years. After deciding on the new doors, I got new estimate for $1700.00. A day later, I headed to the store to initiate and finalize the order and pay for it when I was struck by an unexpected and unprofessional conduct represented by DAVID "assistant manager - Santa Maria Store" and heaped with shameless and carelessness attitude dishonoring and reversing his previously made promise of the discount allowance. His demeanors were nothing less but a display of arrogance and lack of integrity. There was no stipulation or conditions discussed or hinted on what type of doors I can purchase for the allowance to apply. This is the most unpleasant and disturbing experience I have ever encountered from an assistant manager at this store as most associates and staff managers are affable and professional.

Purchased two, new, matching outdoor wall lanterns. ( Upon unpackaging, the first light was discovered to have been used. The wire nuts were missing, all the other parts were in one opened bag, and the wires were frayed after having been twisted in the (missing) wire nuts. The second light appeared to be new, but was missing the lock nuts that secure the harp to the top cover (also missing from the used light). Reselling a used product as a new product is not good. I'll be returning both items.
