Sad to say that the plant selection is mostly for a warmer climate. The buyer doesn't know that Santa Maria is a cooler climate. Each store should order plants that do well in their area. I decided to shop at Miners Hardware & garden, where they will special order to what customers need. Miners is what Orchard use to be.

Went to get brass screws. The man employee was good. But when I went to cashier. She was unprofessional. I was shot money. My daughter went to car to get more money. The cashier didn't help with the citation. She was making me feel unwelcome. She didn't even know how to fix the issue. Felt pressured. Ppl behind were ok. She was an older woman n should be rhere if she's not pleasant or have some friendly smile. I f I go again I won't go to her. If she's the only one I will walk out. If business has ppl like this is . I don't know how they can thrive.

I've had a few bad experiences with this place. Tried to exchange a Traeger thermometer I was given as a gift without a receipt. Per their website it says without a receipt you would be given store credit. The girl at the register needed my wife's phone number (she doesn't use one), then checked to see when the last one was bought (not within the last 3 months). Long story short no store credit. Kick rocks. I'm not trying to scam anyone, just want to get something I could use and likely spend more on top of that. The store has a nice selection of different products, other than that nothing else. If you want rude customer service and spend more than any other hardware store go here. If you want to go to a local hardware store, go to Oak Knolls, they know how to treat their customer. Looking forward to when the next hardware store occupies "True" "Value's" spot. 0 stars, would not recommend.
