This place is a freakin' joke. Had an appointment for an oil change a week+ before showing up for it today. I drive 90 miles one way, almost 2 hours time, and wasted fuel, to have Nick the clown at the front desk tell me I had to wait 4-5 hours, or cancel, in the rudest way ever. When I told him I had an appointment at 9, he claimed he already had a 9AM appointment that wasn't me, with several others waiting behind it. He told me to drop it off for up to 5 hours, and the appointment would not be honored because it wasn't me. What is the point of having a confirmed appointment? What a waste of everything. You guys suck. Do not go here...they do not value you at all.

Pep Boys has a sweetheart deal with Lyft. They do vehicle inspections that take 25 seconds for $20. In exchange for funneling potential driver applicants to Pep Boys, lift demands that Pep Boys refuse to fill out the same form for other rideshare programs, such as Uber, and others. The form is practically identical and requires no other work, other than checking boxes, and filling in a few numbers. The people at Pep Boys are great, friendly, professional, and I’m sure have little to nothing to do with the sweetheart deal between Pep Boys and Lyft. It’s unfortunate that these kinds of deals taint the reputation of both businesses. This is why I cannot give a five star rating to Pep Boys. This, and also they really need to change the mustache on Manny. Unless they put a top hat on him, a mascot with that mustache Evokes someone quite unpleasant.

There is no doubt that having your automobile is expensive to maintain. It's just the way it is. I needed to replace my brakes and my sister recommended Pep Boys. I made an appointment and was helped immediately after arrival. A very pleasant young man took my information and said they would look it over and let me know what is needed. I was contacted by Tom and he explained everything and in a way I could understand. He was very helpful and pleasant. I okayed the service and two hours later my car was ready. He worked very hard to get me a affordable price and I was very thankful. Like I said auto service is expensive but necessary. Tom and PepBoys came through for me and I highly recommend them. They are good people.

They're good old fashioned mechanics that will tell you what needs to be fixed and do it at a fair, straight price.I had to get my rear struts replaced and was able to get it done the same day. Since I have an hourly job and it's my only car I needed it sooner than later and Nick and Joey, and all employees there did their best to get it done the same day.

Just moved back from Virginia after 4 years on active duty and wanted to find a place similar to Firestone to service my vehicle. I think Pep Boys in Santa Maria might be better. Easy appointment system, great coupons/prices, friendly staff and most importantly THEY TAKE CARE OF YOUR CAR!! I went in for an oil change ONLY and they inspected my car for free and caught some things BUT didn’t force me to service that issue immediately. Got my tires rotated for free which is always nice. Great experience and I know where to go for my car needs now.

Really don't like leaving a bad review, but they had several chances to to their job fairly and at least decent. I made an appointment for routine service via the app and was given a price when I called to confirm. after waiting 2 hours for a service that I was told would be 1 to 1 1/2 hours, had not even been started. When I came back 2 hours later to pick up my car, the CSR was on his computer eating chips and even though I was the only person in the shop made me wait a few minutes before he helped me. All to learn the service was even started yet, and I didn't even receive a call! Also the price was $99.00 on the phone, and in person the CSR said the service started at $99.00 (I was getting the basic service) they were going to charge me $129.00. WTF???? They also had on-line coupon that they didn't want to apply. A fail on every level.

I waited for 30 min. They weren’t working on any cars, just sitting there talking. Never touched my car the whole time I was there. Will never go again. Went to jiffy lube across the street and got my tires and oil done within an hour.

The crew and mechanics in the Santa Maria store are critical when it comes to keeping my trucks on the road. I know they have good mechanics and have always stood behind their work. I send my kids there as well.Pep Boys has competitive prices. That may not mean much to some people, but with a total of at least 5 vehicles at any given time, every penny counts.

Santa Maria store is EXCELLENT!They were very attentive, fast and soo nice . Thank you so much for cking my brakes and being so honest and friendly… they didnt even try and up sell me . Great job . I will be back.

It took 3+ hours to get an oil change even with an appointment. Techs were not friendly and accommodating at all. Looks like they didn’t even want to be there. We were not notified or given updates about the car. We just had to wait at their lonely lounge. At checkout, we were just handed the key. Definitely won’t be back or even recommend.

Nick Martinez - ***** +++Thomas C - ***** +++4/10/2023Today began in a most challenging way as I headed out to my car to head to work. FLAT TIRE!!! 2nd one in @ a month. I had no spare as it was on the car, the other in the trunk with a nail through the side wall.I called Pep Boys to see if they had mine in stock, they didn’t.Service Manager Nick Martinez** thought quickly & offered another great tire rated as high & with same tire warranty … & had 4 Cooper tires in stock. I asked him to hold them while I arranged a tow.I next called my insurance company. State Farm - Donna Randolph’s office.I quickly explained my situation (as I NEEDED TO GET TO WORK). The office had 4 Corners Towing come get my car & I to Pep Boys in record time.PEP BOYS took over from there. Service Manager Nick Martinez, Associate Thomas C & his team.They were BUSY when I got there so got all my needed paperwork done waiting for the next bay to open up.PEP BOYS had me back on the road with all my needed services completed in just 70 minutes.4 tires & some other needed services squeezed in.I had a most exceptional experience today with the help of PEP BOYS & STATE FARM INSURANCE- Donna Randolph’s office.Both businesses on Broadway inSanta Maria, CA. Not to mention 4 Corners Towing who got my car to PEP BOYS.

The mechanical service was handled very professionally. BUT, the professionalism is poor and low quality at it finest. I asked about receiving new tires, the gentlemen gave sarcastic remarks because I ask about promotions. Didn't offer any good deals, and proceeded to speak over me. I left the respectful mechanic my vehicle for only an oil change. When I returned, the total was 100 dollars. I decide to find a coupon on the site and he displayed a rude behavior as my phone was loading the coupon. I do not know if he had a bad day, because we are all human and can have those, but I will not excuse the downgraded effort to assist a customer. And finally, he did not HAND me my receipt or keys. If I hand you something, I expect the same respect to be returned. As a solution, the employee should retake customer service courses and print the certificate to have in his wallet to remind him not to be so rude to a well-mannered customer like myself.Pep boys, thank you for your time and service, but my money is no good in a place of Awful customer service.

I bought a set of new tires, last year my sister came on a trip from Colorado. She needed her car checked, it was making a noise. They checked her car and didn't even charge her. That makes me a loyal customer, that's Manny, Moe & Jack's service.
