Omakase and the sake selection were excellent. The service was amazing too.

Loved this place the first couple times. Excellent sushi and lovely staff. However, my family and I had a horrible experience there recently (20 December). A large party of young drunken patrons were deafeningly loud and repeatedly used profanity despite a number of children dining in the small venue (including my own). The staff politely asked them to calm down but were ignored and mocked multiple times. I finally pleaded with the offending party myself to at least refrain from screaming obscenities with the children around but was ignored and mocked as well. The staff apologized but did nothing else to stop the chaos (like kick them out). After escorting my family out of the restaurant, I went back inside to speak with the manager. He explained that he was not the actual manager but the assistant manager. He took my name, phone number, and email address and assured me that the manager would reach out to discuss. It has been two weeks and no one has reached out, so I can only assume that they don't care, which is most disappointing. And so now I feel compelled to share this experience. Our evening was ruined as our family was unable to communicate with one another due to the noise and obscene language. Management needed to step up and intervene in this situation but failed to do so. Again, great sushi and lovely staff but with apathetic management that is unwilling to help maintain a civilized atmosphere for the benefit of all patrons this not a family-friendly establishment.

Service was excellent, but the price and the continuous upsell was off putting.....total bill for two $280 + tip $330.....and that's just sushi, not omakase..that also includes the bottle of water we never asked for..high hopes, but once again, it's gouge central, charge as much as we can and give as little as possible in return....welcome to the new way of business.

I'm a big fan of their Woodlands Hills location, and have been there a few times, so I decided to try their Santa Monica location. Felt so ripped off. First 3 dishes were good... Then comes 10 pieces of sushi for the rest of the omakase course for $200pp. We didn't even get uni for that price. Then we offered some wine for the chef/owner, we asked for an extra glass, the waiter brought over 2 glasses one for himself... Which we didn't offer, and he poured over 1/4 of the bottle of our really nice wine for the 2 of them... Then he came to refill on our second bottle of wine without asking. When they bring out the sushi to us, the waitress told us the wrong fish... She didn't even know her fish and the waiter try to correct her and she argue at the table with the waiter what the fish was. This is the service at a $200pp restaurant... And we were not full after the omakase course, we got an extra order of tempura... Which was not cooked through. Then we got our dessert with a rotten strawberry. When we pay the bill... We didn't realized they gave us the tip scale including the tax... And we way over tipped for such poor service. Not coming back. O, and there's only street parking, so good luck looking for one at the street.

The top-notch omakase made for a memorable lunch, as the chef served some of the best sushi I have eaten. He described each sushi dish, as he gingerly placed these on a plate that were near his prep table. All while in view of a beautiful mosaic that displays a garden-like scene of cherry blossoms and other flora…The quaint restaurant smartly displays various Japanese crafted sashimi/sushi knives, as well as an impressive collection of Japanese matchbooks, adding depth to their simple, yet elegant decor. The friendly and cheerful wait staff are professional, and appear seemingly out of of nowhere, as they anticipate when a glass needs refilling, or when a dish needs removed. Kudos to this rare skill (nowadays). You won’t be disappointed dining at The Brothers Sushi in Santa Monica.

Easily the best sushi in Santa Monica. Everything is delicious and memorable. The jalapeno yellowtail is unbelievably good. The service is fantastic. Everything is also very expensive -- a special occasion place, no doubt.

The best Omakase Sushi I had outside Japan! Chef Mark was so nice to talk to and his knowledge of fish, sake, and wine are outstanding. Don't forget to try their desserts. I will definitely go back. Thank you, Mark san!!

Omakase sushi bar seating experience. Sooo good. It was definitely pricey even just to add on a seasonal specialty on top of the $250 sit down service but the food was well worth it. Well worth it.

Came here for the omakase experience on May 24th! Be prepared for a length review, but I promise it will be really detailed!! Restaurant: located in Santa Monica, able to find street parking right away in the neighborhood area! When you first go in, there is a host to greet you and seat you. The ambiance and vibe here is semi-casual/casual, but it can also be really intimidate! Food/experience: Honestly the best omakase experience I've ever had. Everyone is so professional and honestly giving the sushi chefs the biggest shoutouts! We started off with about 5 appetizers before moving onto the fish. Each dish is made with great detail and garnishing. My favorite appetizer was the fish with tomatoes and freshly shaven white truffle. The citrusy touch to it was super refreshing, which I really liked. While you are getting served for the appetizers, the sushi chef is cutting and peeling for the sushi slices in front of you. Sushi: When we started onto the nigiri courses, we used our hands (this is what they do in Japan traditionally, NOT with chopsticks) and were also given a towel to clean our fingertips in between. As well as ginger slices to cleanse your palette. It was so good that I didn't even bother to take pictures because I wanted to show respect to the chefs instead of "camera eats first" attitude. For each of the sushi, the chef used their house made soy sauce. It has a sweet, but still savory taste to it. My personal favorite was the blue fin tuna. Towards the end of the meal, we were given miso soup to finish off. As for desserts, we were given these super juicy and sweet strawberries. And because we can here to celebrate our anniversary, they gave us a slice of the matcha cheesecake. I'm unsure if that was made in house, but that was the BEST matcha cheesecake I've ever had. It was so creamy, almost like ice cream. You can also taste the matcha really well and not overly strong. Service: The service was superb! They check up on you consistently and always folded your napkin cloth every time you leave. Restroom: Yes.. I know I know why are you even reviewing the restrooms.. but I want to let everyone know what to expect! They have your Japanese boujee toilets- where it is automatic and the seat is warm! I really liked this because I don't like cold toilet seats! However, I'm not sure if it's because the other customers (caucasians) don't know how to use it, but they don't know how to flush! So expect walking in with someone else's urine in the bowl ._. But don't worry, there is a flush button. It is located on the controller on the side that was the swirl button! Just press it and you'll be good to go!! I highly recommend this place for anybody that is celebrating a birthday or anniversary for an intimate experience!! I will definitely be back
