This review is only for the viewing, as I don’t live here… yet ;).Erin called me on a Saturday, replying to an inquiry I sent online, and I just so happened to be in the area doing errands and she accommodated my schedule right away. She gave a lovely tour of the grounds and showed me some units I wasn’t even really considering, but instantly loved! She was working off of my boyfriend and my reaction to the units I was originally interested in and really hit the nail with the others. Erin explained everything very thoroughly and even took the time to email me right away when I asked for some info. Very responsive, effective management from Erin!!!Travis helped me with some administrative and logistical tasks of filling out my paper application. He was very quick and very helpful when answering my questions.Even the cleaning staff was so friendly while I was waiting in the lobby.I feel like Erin and Travis really worked well together and it elevated my experience as a future resident. I’m very happy to have had such an amazing start to a beautiful new chapter at Pacific Plaza!

My son & I have been a resident @ 1431 Ocean Ave/pacific plaza for the last 7 years. I must say that since Ms. Linda Alvarez has been assigned to us as our building manager, living here has been outstanding. I am finally so pleased with the immediate services tenants get if there is an issue in our unit and overall building upkeep. Ms. Alvarez goes above and beyond to help me and other tenants. I’m very impressed and appreciative of her hard work & dedication. ?? Amir

would be here typing a positive review for this community but I must say Linda Alvarez has made A BIG DIFFERENCE to my life style. Over the years I have seen many managers come and go, and they were terrible . With new management on site, I am now very happy with my apartment. Since Linda Alvarez came on board about 2 years ago, my living experience has drastically improved, she has been so helpful from Covid assistance programs to the recent upgrades in my apartment.We had a major pipe leak and she did everything she could to minimize the inconvenience and made sure I was taken care of as I was post surgery. Not only did she bring the apartment back to its original state but she help me made it handicap accessible which has made my life so much easier .The maintenance team has gotten a lot better as well and the work order gets competed in a timely manner.I have a fabulous view and rent control is great, which is why I’m still here . Good job Douglas Emmett for finally having a manager that truly cares for the community and handles the issues right away.

I’ve lived here 2.5 months. So far so good! The location is amazing. The staff (Erin and Travis) have been super helpful and are genuinely nice people. The tenants seem to be mostly in good spirits as well. The maintenance and valet teams are both friendly and hard working.Giving the experience 4 stars so far only because the elevators. There are two pretty slow elevators to serve a very large building. Be prepared to wait a bit if you’re on the higher floors. Or, choose a lower unit and take the stairs.See ya around!

Since Linda has taken control I feel her efforts to make repairs and upgrades are being completed and the team is very receptive and addresses your concerns. As with the past management team it didn’t always feel that way.I look forward to additional upgrades to the facility. Thank you! and keep up the good work

I’ve been enjoying living in Pacific Plaza. It makes me so happy. It’s the best place I’ve ever lived in. It’s like heaven. I get to wake up next to the ocean view of Santa Monica Pier❤️

Location is what attracts people! But once you are inside, it’s a horrible place to live! They made the look good, but there are serious issues underneath, plumbing, mold issues(see the picture behind the stove), roach infestation, package stealing. Not to mention the crazy neighbors that are tenants for 15-20 years and are not going anywhere! Btw, management never responds to you if the building is retrofitted or not!! And you know the answer that way!Help yourself and find a clean and safe place to live at.

I have been here since 2014 & have to say that the current staff (April 2023) has been the best team thus far!Thanks to SO much to Linda, Travis, Erik & Molly at the office, all the maintenance, valet & security staff for making this place a wonderful home environment. The building’s current condition is truly the best I’ve ever seen it.The majority of the tenants are kind & courteous. Bonus - its a dog friendly residence. There are even community gatherings organized by the residents.Security & car valets are 24/7 ~ Laundry machines & small letter mailboxes are located on the car valet floor / Larger packages go to a dedicated mail room / Small gym is on the main floor / Office rooms are available for rentYou cannot beat the location, being close to the beach, restos, shopping and transit.I would encourage anyone that may have the opportunity to live in Santa Monica, to consider this residence.(find me on Instagram via @aida.loves )

Eric in the leasing office was excellent with helping me get established in my new apartment & was instrumental for a smooth moving process. Really loving the beautiful ocean/sunset view apartment & neighborhood so far. Excellent people skills from all the staff I've interacted with so far. (The fact that only 2 apartments out of ~300 are available speaks volumes in my opinion. Can update once I've lived here longer.)

Horrible ALLANA WORKER 05.02.23 10:10 I have delivery she told first time go to elevator, my floor didn't worked, second time she told me I should sign in, I did it, she try to activate elevator and it didn't worked, again I am going up to the random floor and finally random guy came in and press button 10. Allana you one of the worst people which I meet in LA. IF YOU WANNA LIVE HERE KNOW YOU DIDN'T GET PACKAGE OR FOOD BECAUSE OF ALLANA

Pacific Plaza is a great apartment complex for those who want to be near the beach, the promenade, and just relax throughout the week. Although old, the building is a great environment with neighbors who’ve spent most of their lives here. That being said, there are a few issue with living here.The management is the biggest issue. Don’t get me wrong, they’re very nice people, they just don’t do their jobs. Smoking is not permitted in the building or more specifically, the units. I’ve complained several times about the smoking odor to Travis Roberts in the leasing office, but after the generic email response, there’s been no follow up and zero acknowledgement of my follow up emails.I’d recommend this buildings for those who want a rent controlled, laid back building near the beach.

The manager Linda and her team Erik are excellent individuals! They were very transparent and welcoming throughout the whole leasing process, and fair price for market rent. The building is well kept and very safe , Don’t hesitate to check it outDefinitely the best place ever

My experience at Pacific Plaza has been absolutely amazing! Management ( Linda and Erik ) and the Maintenance team are very attentive, which makes it easier for a better living. Its at the beat location ever, parking is good, quite property, and It's always kept clean. my experience has been great! I will highly recommend for anyone planning on moving to Santa Monica and be right next to the ocean

The leasing agent Eric has been nothing short of amazing to work with! Easy, honest and available. I am moving from afar and wasn't able to come and actually see the unit in person. But Eric was able to ease all of my concerns, answer all my questions and make the process as easy as possible for me. He has been a gem to work with!

Do NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE!!!! I put 500.00 down to hold this place for me until I could move in. I went to sign the lease and in the lease there was cancer warnings in the lease because the building has Abestos (and the building is getting ready to be remodeled) lead paint and bad drinking water in the building. They should have told me this before I put 500 down but they didn’t and refused to give me my money back. The elevator breaks and and people are always parking in your reserved spot. They are SHADY so please beware.
