This is your regular credit union has all your needs for starting a checking savings account when you don’t need the big banks, pressures and fees. I enjoy going in here because it’s not very busy very often and they certainly are happy to greet you and they do a great job staying on task and they’re very professional.

I've done business with Southland for a few years now here at the Santa Monica branch. Roisaen is amazing! Great customer service. Always friendly and professional. Very knowledgeable on how Southland operates. I am a very happy customer.

I'm a new customer with Southland Credit Union in downey. So far, it has been good customer service every time. Call for info they out beyond to help me out with any questions. I'm very happy with them. i haven't had any bad experience , they are all very helpful thanks for the great service

Roisean is the teller/manager that works at this location. It's a very small bank and limited what they can do there but he always goes out of his way to help with whatever you need. He has so much information and if he doesn't know the answer to something he will find it for you. He goes above and beyond for all his customers and he's really become more of a friend. Roi is kind and patient and is the epitome of great costumer service. I do not believe any of the negative reviews here are about him. I think it's people that didn't take the time to see what location they were reviewing.

Lack of 24 hour or weekend support number is a huge fail. They freeze my card on the regular and then take off for the weekend leaving me helpless until Monday. This is the third time. They never answer my messages either. If it wasn't for this score would be much higher. But this needs to be fixed.

Absolutely horrible customer service. My bank teller apparently had no idea what he was doing. I went to southland credit Union because it is a sister credit Union to University federal credit Union where I have my auto loan. I had been their 2 previous times and easily made a deposit into my account providing my account numbers and my social security number as well as an ID and my UFCU bank card. This time however the teller insisted that I needed my member ID told him I had no idea what my member ID was and provided him with both account numbers my social security number my UFCU card then I asked him "well is my member Id a name or a series of numbers" and he said he couldn't tell me or didn't know. He told me to call UFCU to find out. He made no effort to ask another teller for help even tho I told him I had made a deposit just last month without providing a member ID. After being on hold with University federal credit Union for 40 minutes, I finally determined that my member ID was simply my savings account number. Apparently both of the previous tellers either knew this or were capable of figuring out this information. Regardless I will never go back to Southland credit Union. it was a huge hassle and in the end he didn't deposit my loan payment into my loan account but rather into the savings account which then cause my loan payment to be late. Horrible horrible customer service. Do not go to southland credit Union.

This is a co-ops branch to the credit union I'm a member of but Rosa was very helpful in depositing a check and withdrawing cash. She went the extra mile to make sure it got done and did with a smile. Thank you so much.

Deceptive practices. They'll tell you you are pre-approved for a credit card, then make you open a savings account with cash to become a member, then make you provide financial documents that no other credit card company requires, only to tell you they're not going to offer you a credit card. Wasted hours of my time. American Express gave me a card in less than 10 minutes. And now a copy of my sensitive financial documents is floating around in some half rate office. Serious regrets. EDIT: In reply to the rep's reply below, I want to add that I was aware that a credit card would require a membership, but I was told I was pre-approved based on filing out the application on your website, and was prompted IN BRANCH to open the account, and told at the time that my application was approved, but the financial information was to determine the credit limit for the card. After I jumped through hoops to provide documents that American Express and Mastercard don't require, I was denied a card altogether. So, no, I do not think you have assessed the situation correctly, and I don't feel assured my information is safe with you. Your bank has shown complete disregard for my time and money, poorly managed application process, and intrusive requirements. Completely unprofessional and a waste of time.

Banking system down today. Zero warning, or response from bank. They don't respond through any channel. If this is a planned outage there has been zero warning emails. Extremely unprofessional handling of services. Do not bank here.

I'm am done. South land operates like chase, Wells Fargo, etc. they will fee you to death. Horrible customer service and constant card problems. I do not suggest using them if you travel unless you want constant problems with authorization. They abuse their own overdraft system as well, they will take advantage of an account wit no shame. They literally hide information from customers regarding time stamps on transactions and pay charges based on amount so that your account can receive maximum nsf's if there's an issue with your balance. Never had so many probs with any other bank
