Choosing Southland to finance my car has, so far, been one of the best choices i've made. From working with the tellers to working with Duke from Carscouts to find my car, everything was such a straightforward and easy experience. I will be forever grateful for them finding me the perfect car and making such a usually stressful situation into something so easy and worry-free.

Julio is the best manager of a bank that I ever had, and I am 69 years old so I had quite a few bank accounts and business accounts. Julio is taking me back 40 years back to when you could walk into a bank sit down with the manager and get things done on a dime.

I see the stars are average so I guess I'm lucky and I'm pretty picky. Customer service is quick and very nice. I love that they have a change machine for customers!

Oh my god, this place isn't even hot garbage. It's the coldest, worst pile of New York garbage that's been sitting under snow for three rat-infested weeks. I came in to sort out a not-entirely-straightforward issue with my credit union back east and said issue requires a notary. So, I called in repeatedly to make sure a notary was on site before I made the drive. No one answers. Ever. Ok screw if, I need this done. So I drove in and have no reception and I need to work so I look for wifi. SCU_guest. Cool. So I asked for the notary and was told to wait a second and then I asked for the wifi password. You'd think I just asked for nuclear launch codes. They then told me they didn't have guest wifi. I couldn't help but yo laugh and blurt out "it literally says "SCU_guest" So the manager, Charlotte, got really snippy and barked "we don't give that out". WHILE turning her back and walking away. Wow. Screw you. Ok, so now I'm waiting and I find out after a while that Charlotte is the notary. Fuck this place. I walked. I'll find another credit union with a notary. God you suck.

It was my share branch and I made a cash deposit, but the teller made a mistake and deposit my money god knows where, I went there and they told me it takes 7 days to going back to your account. This is crazy, I give them money and they losted and I have to wait. It's takes almost 2 days and I push them a lot and they pay me back, but they lost a good customer and I am not suggested to anyone, plus if they have a letter , sitting there that means they knows what to do. It was his mistake for 2nd time.

Will only accept US ID, an international passport is not accepted. So if you don't have a US passport or California Drivers License then don't bother using this place

I'm from seattle and had to use an affiliate credit Union to get a cashier's check. The establishment looked beautiful inside and out, and I was greeted with super kind and warm help. It went smoothly and I highly recommend it.

We've been customers of Southland Credit Union for over a decade. The customer service had been great .. both in person and by phone. Its online banking is very good.

It's never a good day when you have to go to the branch but today was worse than usual. I actually allowed myself to be driven into a rage by the usual patent disrespect and rudeness that is SLCU. I deposited over 8K last week and they rufuse to let me have it. I just want to know why. Some smarmy teller lied to me and told me it hadn't cleared. I've checked w/the author of the check and it cleared last Friday. When I asked the branch mananger he sneered "you cant have it" and turned away and ,once again, lied to my face about the check not clearing. That's your SLCU.As per our texts yesterday I'm assuming my invitation to converse personally was not received well. This leads me to think that you actually called the branch and found out everything I said was true because all my money, previously described as " absolutely out of my reach", just showed up in my account. Coincidence? You want to play lifeguard to your manager, fine, just remember they have the potential to pull you under w/them.

Two stars because customer service is hit and miss. I've had an account with Southland Credit Union for over 20 years. Went in to use the change machine as an account holder and got the cold shoulder because apparently it took them awhile to verify my account... the teller and even manager that was assisting treated me like I was nonexistent, or worse, like I was trying to pull a scam. No communication, no eye contact, no "this will just take a minute while we verify your account". Not even a sorry or thank you after the transaction finally went through. Closed my account the next day.

After dealing with commercial banks, even through the S & L debacle, the 2007 meltdown, we selected Southland CU for our primary banking needs and have never looked back. Credit Unions keep local money safe and prove a good way of paying off auto, home, and other loans. Like the convenience and the affability of staff in the Santa Monica branch. Julio, Julissa, and Charlotte handled all requests with expedition and friendliness.

An easy bank!! Simple to sign up, very friendly service, without all the regular bank forms and papers and fees and junk mail. Just great service.
