I’ve purchased two cars from Subaru Santa Monica. Everyone was a pleasure to work with and the sales team got me a great deal on an Outback and a Crosstrek. Raufel and Veron made the car buying experience a pleasure.

Had a remarkable experience purchasing a new 2024 Crosstrek Premium at Subaru Santa Monica. I was aiming to purchase one on 12/31 to try and take advantage of the last day of the month/year sales. I reached out to 6 different Suburu dealerships. Nancy Bouatay at Subaru Santa Monica, was the only one who really stepped up for me and got me a phenomenal price with the exact color & optional package that I wanted. She even had to drive up to a cooperating dealership in Thousand Oaks to secure my car! She made the whole process easy & stress free!Things took a turn for the "even better" when I stepped into Mel Fernandes's office, the finance manager at the dealership. I usually dread this part of the car buying process but this experience was like no other I've ever had at a dealership finance office. Mel was incredibly laid back and made the whole process super easy. He did me a huge solid when it came to the actual payment for the vehicle (for brevity & my personal confidentiality I will omit specifics). It was huge for me! Mel was also great about negotiating a great price on an extended warranty!Came back a few days after my purchase to meet the dealership's delivery specialist, Jesus Jimenez. JJ was fantastic & incredibly patient in going over all of the Crosstrek's many features. I'm not used to all the bells & whistles in an automobile. JJ took his time with me to make sure that I understood how to use all the different features.I highly recommend this dealership if you're in the market for a Subaru! Thanks Nancy, Mel & JJ at Subaru Santa Monica!!!

I had a disappointing experience with the Subaru dealership in Santa Monica. Despite purchasing a new Impreza in 2019, I consistently faced rudeness and unhelpful service. Even after giving them another chance, the situation worsened. Regrettably, I advise others to consider different locations for a better Subaru buying and service experience.

Had an incredible experience leasing my new Subaru at Subaru Santa Monica! The entire staff went above and beyond to make the experience as smooth and pleasant as possible. Joey, the manager, got me an awesome deal on the lease and was super responsive to my calls and voicemails. Genaro, the sales consultant, was so kind, knowledgeable, and detail oriented to make sure I was comfortable and informed every step of the way. Liz, the finance manager, made the paperwork a breeze. I'm so happy about my new Subaru!

Stay away from this dealer, especially from so called sales person Marjorie. Ask for a new sales person if she replies! She had over 4 hours to prep my car for purchase because I had a very long drive to the dealer. I showed up to a car covered in bird poop and they said they didn't have keys for me to test drive it. Completely disrespectful! Top it off: She left me outside for 1 hour. Then the dealer closed. Only after I texted again after to ask for an update on obtaining the keys she said, "no answer, sorry"... She didn't even have time for proper punctuation or sentence structure. A manager wasn't in sight! Also, car false advertised. It was definitely in an accident! Buyer beware! Again, stay away!

I strongly suggest that you don't use this dealership. If you want their model car, go somewhere else. Go to the Valley. They use horrible sales methods, are beyond rude. I write this again cause we need another vehicle and Subaru is a possibility, but not this place. If there is such thing as car shopping PTSD, this place will give it to you!Avoid!!

My wheels were skipping when I steered left or right. I figured it's a problem with the differential gear system, since the differential is what keeps wheels rolling smoothly when you turn. Only the most fundamental understanding of cars is needed to know this. I drove to this shop. A tech got in and I showed him. I said, "Something seems wrong with my differential!" The tech said, "Yes, seems so. We shall examine it to determine exactly what is the problem."Service advisor said it will be $219 for the diagnosis. The paper I signed said, "Service: Diagnosis. $219". I left my car. I expected to get information about whether the differential has missing fluid, a broken pin, worn bushings, or the like, and a quote to repair.A few hours later, the advisor told me by phone, "It appears to be a problem with your differential. We need to spend eight hours disassembling your transmission to find out exactly what the problem is." He said it would be $1,800 for this diagnostic work. I said that's a terrible deal, so I'll just pick up the car. When I got there, he demanded the $219. I explained I didn't get the diagnosis we agreed I would pay for. I asked him to explain what service he provided; he couldn't. He refused to give me the keys until I paid, which I did by credit card, so I got it back through the dispute process. But seriously? If the paper I signed showed, when I first arrived, "Non-refundable check-in fee: $219" or "$219 for ideas about your car, maybe a diagnosis if you pay much more", then that would be fair for me to pay when I picked it up, because before signing anything I would have been on notice they expect to get paid for providing nothing of value. But that wasn't the deal. What's funny is my office is in nearby West L.A. (and previously my home as well), but have gone to a different Subaru service provider farther away for many, many years, because of incompetence and/or bad business practices at Subaru Santa Monica. I don't even remember what happened last time; all I remembered is to avoid them. This time I went there because the problem with the differential only happened when the car was warm, and I was in the area, and figured since they had stayed in business maybe they had reformed.Anyway, after I paid the ransom to get my car back from Subaru Santa Monica, I took it to this provider in the valley. This other facility test drove it, observed the problem, and gave me a quote for repair, all for free. And I accepted their quote for repair, they fixed it, and billed me what they quoted. So, a happy ending for me, but not at Subaru Santa Monica!Bottom line, Subaru Santa Monica are not competent diagnosticians, and they use scammy business practices to take advantage of people who might not know better.

Not only are we delighted with the service, but also the speed and availability to make things happen almost instantly. The process was tremendously efficient, the staff absolutely helpful and endearing (thank you for everything, James). And the Outback Onyx that we bought is a wonderful car; we even installed a rooftop tent right there. This dealership is incredible! Thank you and congratulations!

Bought our first Subaru from here with RufelIn sales. Pretty much did the whole deal/negotiation over the phone/text in about 10 minutes. No beating around the bush- straight to the point. They go the extra mile- Rufel was easily accessible even after leaving finance to make sure all our expectations were met. He has a great work ethic and will definitely be coming back! If you want want a smooth transaction see Rufel.

There used to be a service person who was invaluable. Three months ago, I reached out for maintenance to address an issue they were supposed to fix, but I received no response. When I called the other day, explaining that my car needed repair as it sounded like it was falling apart (a problem they were supposed to investigate previously), I needed to drop off my car and get a rental. The young lady who answered the phone assured me that the manager would call me to arrange this, but it's been over a week, and I heard nothing. This morning, I had to drive in to find out who the manager was. Her name is Gaby Johnston, and her rudeness and unprofessionalism were astounding.Gabby's customer service has been the most horrendous I've ever experienced from any company. I used to be treated so well, and Liliana's excellent service was like gold. She managed the service department with care and dedication. If Gaby runs her home like this, I feel sorry for her family, if she has one at all. Her lack of consideration for customers is shocking. It seems like it's just a paycheck for her, and she might be more suited to being a prison guard, where her treatment matches her demeanor. It's one excuse after another, and I never received a call back, despite leaving two messages in the past week.Subaru, wake up! Joey Boktor, I've brought you three clients who purchased cars from your showroom because of Liliana's fantastic service. Is she no longer there because of Gaby's personality or lack thereof? Joey, you and your team are letting down the people who support you. Subaru Santa Monica is failing!

Shady dealership that reneged on negotiated deal.I negotiated a deal with all specifics over the phone. As soon as we walked into the dealership to close, they told us that they do not want to honor the deal.We came in there to close the deal fast and easy, instead we walked and took our business elsewhere all due to the blatant lies of the salesperson.I understand that someone with very limited options and abilities has to make a living somehow. However, resorting to that kind of conduct made the dealership look more like a headquarter of sewer rats than a place to do business with.

When it comes to buying a Subaru, Janna Nocerino is the jack of all trades from answering the phone regarding my inquiry on the new 2023 Subaru Forrester Premium to the thorough communication and product knowledge she had all the answers. She made magic happen with Sales manager Arturo Figueroa to get the best deal for me. Then to top it all off finalizing all of the effortless paperwork with no pressure Finance Manager Venron Wilkins, I must say Subaru of Santa Monica genuinely provides the red carpet treatment. The entire process was nothing but a euphoric, haggle free, no non-sense straight to the point experience as every car buying process should be. They were diligent, prepared and professional when it came to me picking up the vehicle in person. The 2023 Subaru Forrester in Ice Silver was sitting there in front of the dealership immaculate, thoroughly detailed, spotless with a full tank of gas waiting for me to drive it off of the lot. I was at a loss for words. It was all surreal to me.Thank you all for making this a truly memorable event for me.I am now a proud owner of my first Subaru Forrester

LA Car Guy turned this place into a SCAM HUB2 Examples (there are more)...1. Needed a new mud flap kit for my Forester. Subaru SM Service quoted $500.00. I questioned this fee and was told these parts are very costly. I went on Subaru's website and purchased them for $100 including shipping. It took 18 minutes to remove the old flaps and place the new ones (3-4 screws per flap right behind the tire). Do the math, this is over $1200/hour in service charges.2. This service station will report your car to CARFAX for not receiving any repairs with them specifically, repairs that you do yourself or have done at a different mechanic are labeled as unprepared/damage. My CARFAX now states that my Forester has rampant problems that it does not have because they have been repaired by myself or a different mechanic. It says my oil has not been changed in ages and I change oil and filter every 3000 miles religiously.
