Removing care products for dreadlocks is not a good look. I could understand having only one or two thing, but there is absolutely nothing available for loc care here. And apparently they used to carry them but have downsized ? Very disappointing.

There are always no cosmetics colors or shades in this store. Basic products are constantly missing. When I need help, I can never find a consultant, I have to walk around the store and look for 5 minutes. Terrible service and terrible company

Security processes targeting paying customers.I had several items in a my basket and was in the process of choosing two skin care items. I was reading the ingredients as I have sensitive skin. As I was reading the box, the security system wrapped around the item started to alarm. Within seconds an employee popped up, demanded if I was going to buy the item, grabbed it from my hand and said, “It will be at the front.” She then sprinted towards the counter.It took me a minute to process what happened. Then I called to her, “Mam, I was trying to read…”. It did not matter. She avoided eye contact and kept saying, “That’s fine. It’s up here.”I realize theft is a significant problem in Los Angeles. I also do not like seeing so many stores closing. However, this experience makes me think loosing this store would not be a significant loss. Nordstroms delivers within 1-2 days. Excellent customer service. Plus, easy returns with Nordys local.

After getting harassed by a homeless man on Wilshire who was taking pictures of me, I should have called it and went back home. Instead I made it into Ulta Beauty Salon to only get dismissed by Angelo, the beginner stylist there who I had an appointment with. My previous stylist Jenya is good but she is never available and I was in her chair for 5 hours at a time. I'm not someone who can spare that kind of time for a cut and color. So I switched to Angelo - who I got a cut from earlier this year and frankly, I was not impressed. But I went back to get base color and highlights and to give him another try. After having a phone consult a few days before my appointment with Angelo, I thought we were on the same page, but then I had to explain what I was looking for all over again as he didn't remember me or make a note that we had a phone call and had a plan. To spare his feelings, I cancelled the hair cut from my appointment because I told Angelo it's better longer with the humidity. Guess what Angelo - I was fibbing and I need a haircut. Truth is - I didn't like your last haircut and the color and partial highlights were most important right now. Anyway - I had to ask a lot of questions because what he was saying he was going to do was different than what we discussed over the phone and I no longer understood his coloring process. I showed him a picture of a previous color and highlight from my stylist out of state and said "if you can use the color already on file as the base and just match how the highlights are blended here, I'll be thrilled." He walked away and from the mirror, I saw him in the aisle talking to the salon manager for 15 minutes, while I sat in the chair. (What is it with Ulta thinking we like sitting in their chairs for an unnecessary amount of time - it's not an attractive place and I don't care to be there one minute longer than necessary!) Anyway, Angelo comes back and talks to Jenya styling next to me to confirm what she has done before and her explanation makes total sense and I agree. Then he turns to me and says "Since you're so cooperative with Jenya and combative with me, I'm not comfortable doing your hair" and cancels my appointment while apologizing. News Flash Angelo - Jenya made sense, you didn't! I was actually relieved grabbed my jacket and gladly left. Angelo kept apologizing and all I said was "this was your doing, and thank you." Came home colored my own hair which looks great! 2 Morals of this story - First, yes, I should not have left the house this morning and second, Angelo is incompetent and the questions I asked were valid, he just couldn't understand how to do what has been done there before or how to accomplish what I wanted, which many other stylists have accomplished before with no question or issue. Angelo says he comes from a high end salon on Rodeo Drive - expectations are much higher there, I can't imagine him surviving there if he can't explain or understand coloring and highlighting at Ulta.

I called Ulta and made an eyelash install appointment. I came in at the reserved time 5/26/23, bought the Falscara and was introduced to Adi. My goodness, she did a very poor job. As she finished my first eyelash I noticed that she didn't cover the length of my lash. That made me realize she was a beginner. I had to point out what needed to be fixed multiple times on both lashes throughout the appointment. It took one hour for her to "finish" the install. The final product was a very uneven pair of eyelashes. I just counted my losses, tipped her, and left. I will never use this location again. I strongly believe that the store should have informed me that Adi was a beginner. That would've prevented me from this negative experience. Never again.......

The staff here are phenomenal. I come here to get my hair cut by Justin. He's the best! Everyone is super nice and friendly and always eager to help customers. Always nothing short of a great experience.

I decided to check out Ulta as I am from out of town and sadly do not have this store where I am from. Cristan helped me at the front and I just wanted to say how helpful and friendly he was! He made my experience here super positive and I had a great time chatting with him. This store was very clean and had a great selection of products.

I was desperate to find my favorite foundation before a trip and had been striking out at several stores. When I came to Ulta, I saw that it too did not have what I needed. Jess - the manager - offered me help when she saw that I looked distressed, and when I told her what I was looking for, she went on a mission to find it for me. It was a success! I was so grateful that she went the extra mile for me. I not only found what I needed, but I got a few other things as well! Thank you, Jess! :)

I have always had such pleasant experiences in the Ulta store on Wilshire. Sadly today, it was honestly terrible. The manager I believe the name was Jess, absolutely no help. I purchase from Ulta online and in store for years, as I am a corporate professional. Today I went to pay for my products as I normally do, and I tried to use a $50 Ulta card to offset the cost as someone had given us a card as a gift. The gift card would not process as the cashier Brianna I believe stated it was not coded correctly. And it wasn’t usable. She called her manager to assist as the line of 5-6 women behind us was backing up. Well Jess was no help, basically was like sorry can’t use it. And that we would have to have the person who gifted it to bring in his bank statement? That they would need to prove they purchased them. Wait what!? Why would I have a gift card if they didn’t pay for it? What are you implying? In front of other customers…you were no help. You both need to do better. Your clientele should never walk away feeling like THEY did something wrong, YOU DID! I would be more than happy to discuss my concerns.

I have been coming to Ulta salon 4 or 5 times already and Justin is amazing at what he does. I usually go to high end salons but nowadays I'm more focused on the end result. Just went for a color today and I am so happy with it. Justin works fast but he's very meticulous on where he places the color around your face so you don't leave with color marks. The color is consistant from visit to visit.
