Having a qualified, experienced and understanding professional handle your books/taxes, it is well worth the money you pay them.Call CTB and ask them to help you.Yes, It's true they can help save your business a good amount of money but more importantly they give you the confidence going forward too!

My taxes were done by a qualified person and money was saved due to her suggestion. Last year was my first experience. I just called to make a phone appointment and was booted out because their bookkeeper departed. Although I again requested assistance through their company (which had been recommended), they insisted I call the bookkeeper who left and would not help me. I was very specific asking for their help, but they would not respond to my request.

This is my reply to Cromwell tax service:Hi Pam, Nice to hear from you and I am glad you are happy in your new town. I would be happy to do your 2019 taxes for you. I will need all tax documents just like the year before. The final settlement statement will work for the sale of your home. That being said, since you will not have California source income this year, you may be better served by having a local tax preparer help you who knows the Oregon laws better than me (they will probably be less expensive too). But I am here for you if you want me! This was my 1st email from Madelyn, and then the next email she terminated our service with her. I believe one reason was due to a few remarks I stated about our Fudiciary from my mother's trust, and she knew the man I remarked on...afterwards she terminated working with us.....I felt I guess I don't have any right to make comments on a person who was supposed to work for our best interest and did NOT do that? Is that a good reason to drop a client? You tell me! Again she was "tart" as she explains it as being "direct"....Big difference when I am supposed to the customer....???? Thanks but NO thanks. I did find a local person who went above my expectations, and was kind, courteous, and respectful...

I have used Cromwell Tax and Bookkeeping for several years now to do my taxes. I have used other accountants thru the years and Madelyne and her employees are the best! Professional and expedient and very up to date on new laws for taxes. I did turn a friend onto her services for taxes last year...but sadly for him, she was not taking any new customers. He understood and I was delighted that she was so devoted to doing a good job for the customers she already had. That is conscientious in my book. She has always been excellent in returning my e-mails and answering questions. She, also, e-mails me during the year, just prior to my quarterlies being due, so I do not forget to send them. Things change with time, so I would still try to see if she has any openings or free to do other bookkeeping needs. You won't be disappointed!

July 2019 by Dave G.
I emailed earlier in the year (Feb/March) asking if they were accepting new clients. I received a reply saying no, but that I should request an extension and try again after the tax deadline. The email suggested that they should have room at that time. Well, emailed in May... no response. Emailed again in June... no response. Now it is July and I wouldn't give them my business if they offered to do my taxes for free. One thing that should be expected, but is sadly missing more and more nowadays, is a simple reply saying "yes" or "no" to potential new clients. No response at all? That's just rude. I try giving people the benefit of the doubt, so they may have a good reason for not responding. But one area I think requires timely communication is anything dealing with ones finances. So a bookkeeping office that can't find the time to respond to potential new clients is a big red flag for me. Others may have better luck.

I came to Madelyne after doing my own taxes one year and subsequently getting audited, which left me with no return at all. Madelyne not only did my taxes, but reached out to the IRS on my behalf and was able to get my return from the previous year! Thank you Madelyne!

I recommend Madelyne and her team without reservation. She has always been extremely professional, responsive, and thorough. Tax season has always been a stress point in my life, but since I've been using Cromwell, they've made the entire process effortless. Thank you!

I can't tell you how much money Madelyne, Christine and their staff have saved me over the last 14 years. Extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with on both personal taxes and my business accounting. Be sure to ask what the difference is between an Enrolled Agent and a CPA, and then look at the difference in cost. Outstanding value to be found here (and less stress and worry, too -- at least for me!) No regrets leaving my CPA, and I've never looked back. Highest recommendation.
