Great shrimp ceviche! Wish I didn't have to drive across town when I get the craving!

Disappointed in produce. Jalapeños were about as hot as a green bell pepper. Ruined my spicy? Dish.

I've been wanting to visit this market for ages and I'm so glad I finally did! Such a neat, well-organized store with lots of products and friendly staff. Gorgeous display of produce, the butcher counter has a beautiful selection of meats that all looked so good it was hard to choose (we went with arrachera marinada), but the bakery case of fresh pan dulces really won my heart. The conchas are lighter than air and besos are some of the best things I've ever eaten. I'm looking forward to going back!

Clean, well-organized and well stocked. Workers are friendly and greet you first. I always buy the little cakes in individual containers and the churros inside the bakery case.

The chorizo was very good! All of the staff were super friendly and helpful, the store was clean and well stocked, and I loved the variety at the butcher counter. Even was able to get some pork knuckle and they even offered to cut it for me. Can't wait to go back again!

Very nice little market with a great meat counter and section with vegetables and fruit. Definitely will be back and make it part of my grocery store routine.

Just went for the first time this past weekend! Great find! We got pre-marinated chicken and carne asada beef - both were incredible and reasonably priced. Great chips and tortillas also. Can't wait to explore further.

Don't be fooled by the small footprint, El Torito is a well-stocked gem of a market. Here are a few of my favorite things:- They have an excellent fresh produce and meat section with better prices than Oliver's or Safeway and equal quality.- The fresh salsas are delicious. My favorite is the roasted tomatillo.- The store is very clean and the staff are always really friendly.- There is a hot self-serve tamale station. The green pork is my favorite, but there are always a bunch of other kinds.Especially for folks in Rincon Valley, please don't sleep on this place!

Lots of options, good location. There are groceries from other places too, but it seems to focus or specialize on Latin American foods. Parking lot is a bit tight, but not too crazy.

New Store in the Area, providing fresh produce and meat counter with choices ranging from beef, pork, goat, chicken etc either pre-prepared or not. The Staff are friendly and the prices are fair for the area.

Finally, a quality Mexican market on the East side of SR! This gem is tucked behind the mattress store at Hwy 12 and Mission Blvd.I couldn't resist a peek when it opened and was delighted by the find. Beautiful produce displayed like fine art. Rows of Mexican brand food, candies, snacks and pottery. Everything is impeccably tidy. But the treasure is all in the back - a gorgeous meat case proudly tended by a real live butcher. He actually makes the chorizo which is tasty and lean although not spicy. There is fresh pan dulce and authentic hot tamales in a steamer at the checkout. Yelpers, these are the real deal! Please support this wonderful LOCAL business even if you just stop in to grab fresh guacamole, salsa and chips. You'll probably see me there.**Minus one star because they don't have a liquor license. No prob, though, just pop around the corner to the liquor store!**
