3 Stars because the good is really good but the bad is really bad. They typically have what I need with very few exceptions. Prices are decent but I try to wait for sales. I will always check out their pepper and tomato starts and sometimes find something really interesting for a good price. I like buying soil and fertilizers here because it's usually on sale and there is often an abundance of the kind that I like. Also, shopping local with good prices is hard to do, so that really works here. 0 Stars for customer service. In the last 4 or 5 years I've not encountered anyone helpful or even willing to help me. I've asked someone to help you lift several cubic square feet of soil bags ans she basically said she didn't want to. Another time I asked if I coukd get help taking them to my car and the guy told me I'd have to go to the loading area to have them put in my car (4 bags of soil) and when I got there they asked why I was there and sent me back to him. When I explained that they sent me back to him, he scoffed and said "Oh well. Whatever." These are just 2 examples. Employees are everywhere and won't ask if you need help, even if they see you struggling. Whenever I ask a question, no one knows an answer, ever. If you know what you want, and you have the ability to do it yourself, this is the place for you.

Well I just spent a1000 dollars on a pump at least they had it . I remember shopping here with my dad. . when we building. Homes and remodels And repairs . It changed a lot over the last 50 years at least shopping here adding new stores in different areas . Always has good service has good and friendly to . I know some of the old timers that work there and tool selection hardware . Windows doors kitchens just about everything you need good selection fairly good value from not being a superstore like home Depot and Lowe's but for selection and quality they're pretty well top notch good value in lumber plywood fencing material is probably the best best in the area of any store

Very much racially profiled. Moment I walked in, I was followed to the back and front. I went into several isles to verify I was being followed. Yep. Old crankey lady who probably gets none at home. She got on her phone and was reporting me to what seemed the police? Bought my shit and left, she just kept staring at me, I just laughed the whole time . Seriously do better first and only time I'm shopping there .

I came here to get a rubber mallet sort of thing. We found the tools section an then the hammers. I found what I wanted. But my husband really wanted a dead blow hammer, and not seeing one, he went and found an associate and asked about it. The person he asked didn't seem to know what it was, but pointed us to the hammer section (where we'd just been). They did not have what hubby wanted there, and we refrained from teasing the employee about their famous tagline, "If we don't have it, you don't need it," though it was hard! lol. Anyway, we were in and out pretty quickly and painlessly. Parking was easy. Store was pretty calm at night, shortly before closing, and we didn't have to wait in line to check out.

They often have a good variety whereas the big box's often give only one choice. So its a little like the old fashioned hardware stores. Also the odds of finding an employee willing to listen and help out is way way better than the bb's.

Employees are everywhere and so nice and so helpful. this place is LOCAL and has EVERYTHING! They even sell Kelly Moore paint and have a drive-in yard to load heavy stuff. Their prices are not much higher than a big box chain equivalent but they only sell top-quality products you know will last. The garden section is amazing. My Dad has been going here ever since i was a child and forty years later now I'm shopping here. Forty years from now my child will shop here.

Just wanted to say how grateful I am to Eric in the care/call center. It was almost unusually pleasant, (at least these days, and what I’m used to with Phone customer service), how he went out of his way to find a manager, and find the pallet that the pressure washer hose was on, then to pull a couple units for me to purchase. This is usually very difficult when I talk to the staff at my local store.Eric, thanks again, Freidman’s- you are lucky to have him, he was a great hire.

Garden section is easy to access. Not a lot of options though. I was looking for volcanic rocks but they did not have any which was really surprising.

They always have what I'm looking for, and they have staff to help me find it. Kind of a "throw-back" experience that is the exception to the rule these days. Customer Service. Huh. Forgot what that was like.

Shopping here today and overheard a worker named Stella training another worker and explicitly telling them to not look for items in the back for customers and tell the customer “were out” without actually looking. She wasn’t even kind to the coworker either. She was a grown woman, not a child. That type of behavior may be condoned if they’re 16 but it’s really unprofessional looking. Hopefully this store can correct her behavior.

Like everywhere else, pricey. Little upset and unhelpful when asked about a paint product they didn't have. She was busy doing something else. When I pressed about where it was, oh wet don't have that.

Been going to Friedman's for over 20 years and the service is not the same as it once was. I think today might have been the last straw for me. Went to the 15% off sale Saturday and saw a huge line of cars checking out of the warehouse, so instead went inside to buy some rock salt for my water softener. Waited in a long line inside the store, but it was better than the warehouse check out line. After all that I was told I had to pick up the salt in the warehouse. There were 2 pallots of it sitting right in front of me, but the lady refused to sell it to me. She said they have been reloading it all day and have been telling people to pick it up in the warehouse. I told her I didn't have time to go to the warehouse and could you please sell it to me. I could understand if they were out of stock or something. The part that really bothered me was when she said snydly "no like I've told 20 others". I am not going to accept being talked to that way on top of everything else. I didn't want to be late picking up my daughter so I let her know I am going to have to leave and it was obvious she could care less. I know it was very busy and hectic, but this was unacceptable. Wasted my gas and my time. Trying to help your local business, but will probably start ordering online. Can probably find it cheaper and won't waste my time and gas. So, thought I would share my experience with others who might care.

Patio furniture overpriced. Found similar set at Home Depot $200.00 less. I did find cute animal kids beach chairs at Friedman's.
