I must first say that I am disabled and use crutches. On September 6th, I went to Redwood Credit to make a deposit. Upon my arrival, I was told that I would be helped and to have a seat. The gentleman that approached me assured me that he would hold my place in line and would send me to a counter when it was my turn. I waited and waited and watched people come and go but no one ever came to my assistance. After a long time waiting, I just decided to leave and asked one of the female employees at the front desk about their failure to assist me. She asked me to again have a seat. I just decided to leave. I think I'll take my business elsewhere and be better appreciated as a customer. RCU doesn't see us as people. I'll withdraw and never do any business with them again. If you have a handicap please don't patronize RCU.

I've been a member for around 13 years in good standing, and they refused a small personal loan I just applied for. Very disappointed in them.

Hey i wanted to write a review because i have seen all the negative ones. Just wanted to say i have had nothing but nice people help me and no problems during my 15 years of use. I just recently bought a car and they helped me through it. Always a line but never more than half an hour just be prepared to wait. Recommend these people for kids as well! :)

I was in today and got caring, thoughtful help from someone willing to hear my side as I'm dealing with an elderly parent who is having difficulties managing their accounts. I'd always heard that RCU was the place to be when things went wrong, now I know why. There are lots of other options and I definitely have accounts elsewhere, but I can say that those places don't care - they just want you to pay , so good luck when you need a real person to care. It helped me make up my mind about making the switch. Plus there is a Branch near my job in Mill Valley !

The wait time in every branch is ridiculous. Don't plan to stop in without at least 30 minutes to stand in line while you wait for the 2-3 tellers they have staffed to serve the 25+ people ahead of you. Their customer service is poor, the phone tree will automatically route you to offices that are not open and then disconnect the call. After more than 20 years here, I'm moving accounts to Exchange and have found it to be a much better fit.

Never had a bank that was so careless. Every other week was another mistake. I got tired and changed banks. Left a car loan with them as it's nearly done. I had to keep a savings account for that. They managed to push that into overdraft by charging me overdraft fees for a transaction which didn't make. Not sure if they grasp the concept of a savings account.No signs of intelligent life detected.

If you look deep at this whole institution you can see the gaps in their ability to provide customers with consistent quality service. I had been a member for 7 years, which started with a loan account. Initially, my experience with the organization was favorable and it seemed like a great community credit union, but in the past 3-5 years they seem to have tried to increase their brand recognition to the point that they have sacrificed original quality for greater market share. Their consideration for loan holders is entirely lacking, and their fee structure is set up to punish any misstep. I made faithful, on-time payments for the entire time of my loan, but they saw fit to charge me over $1,300 for a 2-month insurance lapse. No consideration was taken for moves during the COVID lockdowns, and leadership was absolutely inflexible for a simple oversight. I was finally able to close all of my accounts as of today, and I have withdrawn my money to take it elsewhere. If you want a solid CU on the north coast, take your money anywhere else.

RCU has some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. I have banked with big banks and they never care, you are just a number to them.RCU treats their customers like family. This is the only place you need to bank.

Unfortunately they don't bother to answer their phones. Waited over a combined 45 mins trying to call 3 times. You would think that during a pandemic, they would be more willing to answer phones so people didn't have to show up in person to the branch to get simple/quick questions answered. In looking at past reviews, this hasn't changed over the last 3 years. Tarnishes an otherwise decent experience in the 7 yrs I've had an account.

I've been a member of this credit union for going on 35 years. Always helpful, loved their insurance programs and their staff. A few months ago I had to file for Chapter 13 due to my photography business taking a downturn with the pandemic, and it's upsetting at the least that my credit union of 35 years cut off my access to my debit card AND online banking. People are struggling, and to me this said "we just don't care". How unfortunate that I have to leave my beloved local bank.

We huge Peanuts fans from the Twin Cities and flew into Santa Rosa to “Snoopy Statue” Hunt. I had emailed to Redwood Credit Union to confirm they were still located there. I got a reply saying yes, but the branch was currently close because of COVID… I get it, things slowly open and CA is basically the last state to relax the guidelines… we arrive on Monday morning-ish and saw the blanch was still closed and waved over the Security Guard, and briefly explain we’re from out

We called in with questions regarding a loan Jarod Harrison was amazing. He answered all of our questions and made us feel very comfortable. He also had suggestions that will save us money. We are very grateful to have been able to speak with him. He treated us like family.
