We tried to visit Sunstone for a tasting. The host running the tastings was rude and dismissive, even ignoring us. There was a private event on at the time with a very rowdy group. We decided to leave after the private group spilled over into the public tasting area with a boombox and a man got into the ornamental fountain. Sunstone should get a grip on private events or close the vineyard to others when they run one. We never got the chance to taste any wine sadly.

Wonderful wine tasting experience! Loved all the wine we tried, if you buy 3 bottles, they waive the tasting fee. They even offered an extra glass of rose that’s not on the tasting menu. You can also purchase a charcuterie & cheese box from any of the wine counter ($30, not on their menu) and there’s a food truck towards the back serving burgers etc.. Wish they open more of their estate for people to walk around than just a courtyard with seats. At least when we went, we were not able to really see the French style building/land/decor.

We visited Sunstone Christmas eve, the location is really nice, and the tasting area is super accommodating for kids, dogs etc. It's like a picknick area with wine tasting. I ended up joining their wine club, they have a deep offering of wines. During the tasting I had some questions regarding some of the wines that were not on the tasting menu and the person helping us grabbed some additional wines for us to try. Overall the experience was very nice and I can't wait to go back. I ended up buying 7 bottles of wine during this visit. I have not been to a ton of Santa Ynez wineries I'm more familiar with Paso wines but they do have a number of wines with grapes sourced from the Paso region. In addition they do have a good number of wines with estate grown grapes which I really like. If you're in the Santa Barbara area and are looking for a great place to spend some time drinking wine you should stop by Sunstone I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

My son, his dog, and I visited Solvang the day after Thanksgiving and decided to drop by this winery in the afternoon before they close. It was our first time here and it was well rated. It was busy and they had a table for us. The ambiance was very nice and it was dog friendly. Our server was very friendly and helpful. The winery had a Black Friday special on select wines. Our server gave us free tastings and I bought several bottles.

Service was very slow and it was not very busy. Waiter was nice and made conversation at least. We had to have a reservation, table service is required and is outdoors on picnic tables.Pre-Covid we came and it felt a little more informal and fun. The pictures they have online make it seem like you’re tasting at the main “grand” house but that is not case.Wines were great tasting and reasonably priced, tasting is $25 per person, for 5 wines.

This is my favorite winery in the Santa Ynez Valley to bring picnic food to. Buy a bottle of wine and spend a while enjoying the views. The Syrah was good. The patio is very large and they have several areas. We were able to find a shaded table. The indoors is naturally cooled with lots of stone, feels cave-like. Beautiful and worth a look. Nice that they have a serving bar on the patio so you don't have to keep going inside. Service was good.

This is our second time coming to Santa Ynez and a must stop to enjoy Sunstone Winery!! Great ambience outside seating and soaking the fresh air, sun and relaxing ambience of this beautiful winery. We will always be back and highly recommend for your anniversary, engagement or couples getaway!

Love the view and the large, dog friendly patio -- really is the star of the show. They allow outside food -- so we enjoyed our picnic and bought a bottle of their Syrah which was good. $45.00 plus tax, tip. Indoors looks like you are in the Bat Cave -- lots of stone and very cool. Tastings were pretty expensive so we didn't splurge. Remember when they were free back in the pre-Sideways days? Keep the tastings reasonable -- people will buy more bottles/glasses that way.

I am by no means a wine connoisseur, but this place was great! The service was fantastic. The host was enjoyable and provided great tasting notes. Each wine we tasted was very good (although I know this part is subjective). The food menu looked great. We brought some snacks for our kids which was definitely ok with the winery.More details:This was a quick drive from Solvang (10 mins?). A large parking lot makes it easy to find spots. It is gravel so those who have crutches, canes or wheel chairs might want to get dropped off closer to the entrance.Once inside, there is plenty of tables to seat large parties and spread out without feeling like you are in top of each other. That said, it also looked like there were plenty of spots for an intimate wine tasting without being bombarded by noise or kids.

We did a wine tasting about 25$ and got additionally offered to taste a rose. We had a really good stay and the lady was very funny and explained a lot about the place and the wine. My personal highlight was a humming bird. The wine was good too, but unfortunately we hasn’t been able to take one with us as we travelling around.
