A great place to stop when going to Julian or Borrego Springs, or on a way back to San Diego. Very nicely decorated, great service and amazing views of the nearby nature preserve. It offers a great variety of baked goods including raspberry and cream cheese strudel, and their delicious take on raspberry macaroon made with coconut ??? Breakfast sandwiches are tasty too. Definitely recommend!

A bakery with huge support from the locals. That said, travelers/outsiders riding through are treated differently (not all but anyone who looks like they don’t belong there). The young woman usually there at the counter definitely not a people person & fits the phrase “waking up on the wrong side of bed” every day. The other bummer is that it’s extremely overpriced, saying that having shopped at Gelsons & Bristol Farms was actuality lower priced freshly baked goods. But it’s a local bakery in the back country so it shouldn’t be a surprise as it depends on it as a source of revenue. You can however go next door to Don’s market for cheaper coffee & a packaged pastry for a lot less.

This place was always a must stop on the way to Julian or Borrego. It's gotten too pricey now from my liking.

What a perfect little warm welcoming breakfast surprise on the mountain road❤️ We had the breakfast sandwiches on brioche rolls and the coffee was delicious. Took home a loaf of the Deli Onion Rye bread and loved it! Fun to peruse the little shop items while we waited with our own little buzzer. Couches, tables and booths to choose from. Go there.

We order our sandwiches ahead of time on their website. It makes our stop so fast. There are many people on the weekends visiting. Great sandwiches, very large.

Visited here often with my parents as a kid. I have always loved the Raisin Date Nut and Jalapeño Cheddar breads. I recently moved just over an hour away and am definitely looking forward to taking my own children here soon.
