Terrible service!!! My dog went in yesterday for dental work and an annual check up. I was asked at drop off if I wanted any additional items and I said no. I was also asked if I needed flea treatments and I said no. When I picked him up in the afternoon, I was charged for a box of flea treatment and a nail filing. I asked to have it removed. When I went home, my credit was still being charged incorrectly. When I called this morning, I was told I needed to come in to get it fixed. People don't have time like that to drive back and forth for YOUR mistake. Additionally, his next vaccine was scheduled automatically when I said I wasn't available at that time yesterday. Again, now I have to wait for someone to call me back to get it rescheduled. Please figure your organization out and stop wasting people's time. This was a terrible experience!

You have to remember, you "are" going to an Emergency Vet Hospital . It will be more expensive, than just going to your regular vet. With that being said, this is my 1st choice, for an emergency. Over the last 25 years, with 6 different animals, ( dogs, cats, African Grey parrot) I have brought my beloved pets here, in emergency situations. The staff and doctors are awesome. They've always been sympathetic, yet straight forward with me. They are very aware they have your fur baby, back there with them, and in their care. They talk to them and try to reassure and comfort them. Then when time, will come out with updates when possible. 4 out of the 6 times, I've had to go there, they saved my babies life. The 2 times it wasn't meant to be, no matter how hard they attempted to save them, they treated me with great compassion and care. Never rushed me saying goodbye to my babies. Let me take whatever time I needed. This last visit was for my 14 year old dauschund who had a mini stroke. When we bough him i we really throght we would be saying goodbye to him. I'm very glad to inform you, almost 8 hours later, we were able to take him home. We weren't out of the woods yet, but they had him stabilized. The next 72 hours were very crucial to his survival. I'm even happier to tell you all... It's now been 85 hours later, and he's still with us. Tomorrow morning, we go to his regular vet, for follow up. I am Very thankful for all staff and doctors who work there. Eileen Binley --Santee, CA

I do not understand how a pet hospital can be so inconsiderate and reckless. My boyfriend and I do absolutely anything to ensure our fur baby's health and well-being. My boyfriend took her in today for a nail trim and she came back with bloody paws, overly trimmed nails and uneven sharp nails. My boyfriend was just told that one of her nails had bled "a little" so he didn't think much of it. Low and behold, he later realized that the damage was bad. I checked her as soon as she got home and was SHOCKED to see just how bad it is. The damage is actually a lot worse in person than how it looks in the pictures. I am FUMING because my poor baby is now in pain (licking her paws). I left a VM AND an email and have not heard back. It has been almost 3 hours and no one has reached out. Unbelievable, I will not be recommending Banfield to anyone!!UPDATE: I sent another email to the email address provider and they are nowhere to be found. I am reaching my tipping point at this moment.

TERRIBLE SERVICE I brought my cat because he was having ear problems. I waited for over two hours for him to be seen WITH an appointment. Once saw they told me his medicine would arrive within a week. It has now been two weeks and the medicine has yet to arrive. I called the clinic to express my issue and the receptionist Krista, hung up mid conversation. As a loyal costumer I don't deserve to be treated with such disrespect. I will never be returning to this Banfield. I've spent too much to have my cat be disregarded.

Called in today, Krista (not sure of spelling) answered the phone to assist.. She kept over talking me with a demeaning tone and this was a very bad experience. I understand you need to ask questions about my pet before I can get flea meds, but there is no reason to be so combative and rude and then talk over me throughout the whole conversation. The whole reason I wanted to go to Banfield for my other pet is because I had a good experience with them when I put my cat to sleep in 2020. It was such a sad day for me but they were so nice to me and my boy when he was gravely ill. This person is the exact opposite of what I experienced 3 years ago. Guess I'll be looking for a new vet. Bums me out. Krista, do that vet a favor and don't treat the customers like that. You're giving them a really bad name homegirl! Shame on you!

The biggest gamble you roll with this location is whether or not it will be open (1 or 2 days a week). The service used to be amazing. Today, it was implied I was lying about my 14-year-old female being a long-term patient (3 surgeries and 12+ years of preventive care later). They haven't seen her in over a year. Yeah, no kidding. Any emergency care has to go elsewhere when they tell you they're booked for the next 9 weeks. I guess I'll have to drive to take care of my dogs.

My dogs appointment was at 10 AM. I was told that he was just going to be one shot and for the vet to look at his skin. I was told that it was not a drop off that I would be picking him up within an hour or so. My dog was there from 10 AM to 5pm because they haven't called me at all to let me know to come pick up my dog. My dog has bad skin so I wanted the doctor to look at his skin to help me figure out what else to do, was told to try this other medication when I called to check in around one. I was told he'd be ready around 3:30 but the vet would call me when she was done with him but after the experience I had I don't think I would be returning to this Banfield. I've had banfield for many years now with my pets I was very not happy with how my dog was treated today I picked him up. He was shaking and panting from having to be the last dog left at this vet office because no one had called me to come pick him up until after I had to contact the manager of Petsmart after not being able to get a hold of anybody when I called around four.

Was not at all pleased with my short experience with them in general. The first appmt I had to wait OVER an hour (honest) for someone to look at a growth on dog's paw. But of course, it has to be biopsied and sent to Pathology (over $300)! Now I have a 10 year old Boxer, life span is 10 to 12 years, I just want the damn thing removed! Even if the growth did turn out to be maliganant, what more can you do for my old dog that has had a great life and has no present pain or anything... I just want the damn thing removed! Well, a week goes by and I get a call from one of the Vets (nice lady), she tells me the results from Pathology. I ask how much for the procedure? She says they will get back to me.... So, I wait... I call and leave messages, and sent in an email or two, no response. Finally I call again, and get a dollar amount from Josh who is getting the word from somone else in the background. I am told it will be $1200!! What?!?! Teeth will get cleaned too, and there is a $200 cost to send the growth removed to the lab! What the hell! I have a 10 year old! I just want the damn growth removed! Talk about milking a procedure for what it's worth! Well, I am done with Banfield, and Pet Smart for that matter. I get my dog groomed there also. Just lately I had to treat my puppy for fleas, and I really do think she picked them up in that building. Well, that's it... This review was for Banfield in Santee...

Our three beagles had their comprehensive exam May 4. At that time, we were assured that all three passed with flying colors. Since then, our girl Belle, has developed an abscess in her right jaw, she's showing signs of anemia and kidney failure. We currently have her in an emergency ward at another facility under 48 hour watch and we don't know if she's going to make it or not. We are besides ourselves with grief over this turn of events. WHY weren't any of these conditions noticed? I was only told she'd need dental work "in the future." No, she needs a miracle at this point. We have been Wellness plan members since Andy and Belle were puppies ten years ago, and we put our rescue Cooper on the plan as soon as he joined our family five years ago. Disappointment does not begin to describe how my brother and I feel about this turn of events. If our little girl dies, it is Banfield's doing and my fault for trusting their medical care.

I have had 3 dogs with Banfield in Santee CA Branch. With COVID they have been under staffed.. I had "just changed to lower costing Dog Inc." I was paying $56.00 per month, had hard time to get date set to have them clean my dogs Teeth! They are like only open 2 days of the week now.. REMEMBER this is the Santee Banfield here in San Diego CA. at LAST I got my Date to have his teeth cleaned... IT WAS A MONTH OUT!!!! SO Just now I get phone call from them "few days before the Date to have this work done" they tell me they can't Provide the Service!!!! Taken my MONEY all this time and now can't do what I've been paying for????!!!!! Warning, this place used to be Great, today its 1 star Service in my View and this is after having 3 dogs with them.. Warning to anyone singing up with Banfield, make sure you understand they may have FEW HOURS, YOU MAY MAKE Dates to have things done that takes a MONTH to wait for and then be CALLED THEY CAN'T DO IT.. FYI this is the 2nd time they've done this to me!
