If you’re looking to get a piece with no real value (outside of its sentimental value) restored, this isn’t the place for you. Didn’t go looking for an appraisal but was told the piece was of no value over and over again. A simple no would have been sufficient, especially since I communicated that the only value the piece had was sentimental in nature shortly after arriving.

Great restoration job on an antique rocking chair thats been in my family for many generations. I am very pleased with the outcome and the owner was nice and fast.

Ron did an excellent job at restoring an old family piece for me. I was impressed with his craftsmanship. His price did go a little higher and it did take a little longer than he estimated, but he informed me along the way of all things that needed to be done. I do not feel like he changed the prices on me as the former reviewer stated. He is a very busy man, his shop is full to the brim of customer furniture, but he is worth the wait! I'm very happy we chose him.

1 star is generous. Written estimates do not apply with this guy. He will raise the price and not follow the agreement or scope of work. Terrible customer service, ineffective communication and a rough attitude which actually compliments his shabby shop. Unethical business principles. Avoid.

If you want a perfectionist restoring your antiques, then Ron is your guy. A true artist and craftsman. He will restore your treasure with skill and does business with integrity. The lovely Jocelyn is a class act as well. This business moved to Santee and thankfully did not close down.

Mr. Gledhill is very personable, but I was not satisfied with the chair he restored for me. I took it in April 17, he told me it wouldn't be done until maybe mid-May. I just picked it up yesterday, the chair looks o.k. from the front but he didn't spray the underside of any of the rungs. The price was also more than I felt it was worth at $180! He blamed that on the fact it needed to be stripped three times. I wouldn't take anything more to him nor recommend him to any of my friends.

They do not sell furniture anymore. They restore furniture. The fella I spoke to was very knowledgeable and knew specific people to refer me to. He also knew the people I have worked with already. Super easy to talk to and open with sharing his knowledge. Those are great attributes. I am a fan!

This is no longer a consignment store, they are now specializing in refinishing and restoration. They do have a constantly rotating stock of a items that have been refinished by Ron and interesting odds and ends he finds. He does beautiful work. He refinished a nightstand for me and now the wood feels like silk and sort of glows. I took a refinishing class from him and learned so much and met some neat people. He is very generous and has 20+ years of woodworking knowledge, so just talking to him is an education. Sadly his dog died.

I had fun visiting this charming store. There were some nice vintage pieces at affordable prices. The man and woman who ran the store were very friendly. I purchased a small table and I saw some cute looking end tables, curio cabinets and library desks. Overall, my experience was good.

Long, sad, sad story for me. I took two valuable family antiques in to have refinished. After ONE YEAR, Ron had not even done 1/3 of the work. Always had some excuse as to why it was taking so long. I finally took my RUINED antigue chairs out of his shop, got all of my deposit back. I should have sued him!! I did report him to the better business bureau. To this day, my chairs are in the same condition. The work he did on them destroyed them and will cost a fortune to repair. Very sad. They were my grandmothers' chairs.

I agree with Eric H's review: don't come to this shop looking for mid-century modern furniture. Do come, however, if you appreciate quality antiques at very fair prices. My home is more modern in its decor but I was still completely charmed by this shop and found a fabulous Art Deco buffet for a great price. Lydia is very knowledgeable about both interior design and antiques. She steered me right with this buffet and was a pleasure to work with. Ron is a very skilled craftsman/restorer and a nice guy to boot. As far as the dog, well, it lends to the ambience...I'm not one to go pet dogs I don't know.

I came here because they were listed in a pamphlet as having Mid Century Modern Furniture. But after browsing around the store, they carry mostly antiques and have very few, if in any Mid Century pieces. Other than that, The two lady's in the front were friendly and helpful and didn't hover around me. I found some really nice pieces and they have a small back room with HALF priced items. Overall, they were friendly, helpful and easy to talk to. I didn't see a dog so I can't comment on that.

RUDE NASTY WOMAN OWNS THIS PLACE, DON'T SHOP HERE. I went in to look at a few pieces of furniture that a friend of mine saw (I am a trained antiques dealer) and the owner's dog approached me. I extended my hand to let him sniff it, and the woman SCREAMED at me not to touch her dog. I mean, she flat out yelled at me!! Fews flash lady: keep your dog at home if you don't want it approaching people, as people like dogs and will naturally go to pet them. This nasty rude woman doesn't know how to deal with people, this is certain. Also, her items are way over-priced. Not worth your time or money.
