Lainey took me in as a walk in and was so awesome. Gave me perfect face framing bangs, a trim and all over color. Salon was cute too. I left with the shiniest healthiest hair. I picked this place on a whim from other reviews, was not disappointed and she definitely gained a client!

first time in San Diego, first time getting highlights(full) and Claire did a great job! She was so nice and made me feel comfortable. Looked at so many salons but i’m happy i chose this one !

Rocky did an amazing purple color for me. My hair is a beautiful purple color because of an awesome hair stylist...ROCKY!! I will definitely keep coming to Thrive for all of my hair colors, cuts, etc

This is actually the fourth time I have been to this Salon. I went to Carolyn first, she did an amazing job on my highlights, then Lainey and she did a great cut. Then waited a few years, because my old stylist started services again, so I was going to her. I went back in with some damaged blonde(from my old stylist) and went to Jessica. She takes her time and is a perfectionist with where she puts the color. I just went back in to get more blonde, especially since I knew she would pay attention and not damage my hair. It’s looks so good! I’m blonder than I’ve ever been and my hair feels so healthy! She is an absolute sweet heart. Highly recommend, and she honestly undercharges what she should! Also if you have a sensitive head, she is sooooo gentle.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I went in for a color correction and wanted a balayage I got charged 500$ for some shitty yellow highlights in my hair that Lainey did... not only did my hair start to fall out it started breaking from how bad the damages were, she did a test strain on my hair and said it was all gonna lift even and be okay. it was not my roots were not blended it looks orange I can't stand to look at my self. they refuse to refund my money and are gonna try and fix my DAMAGED hair by toning it but it looks hideous.!!!! Just wanna update the review and say that's a absolute lie I told her if there was going to be SEVERE DAMAGE not to do it she said there wouldn't be and that it's normal for my hair to be melting off ?!? It's not hard to admit for her to be wrong her past work could of been good but this is NOT good at all and not what I even asked for and the fact that you replied saying that is very unprofessional and shows a lot about you business

DO NOT GO HERE absolutely horrible and very un professional they price gouge A LOT I went in for a color correction and wanted to look more blond and I knew that it was going to take time and effort but Lainey who did my hair didint do what I wanted at all she didint lift some parts of my hair enough and she didint do a good enough test strained to be able to tell the damage she would do to my hair my hair when I’d brush it just falls off and it’s only the blond hair falling out she kept telling me it’s normal but it is NOT !!! My hair looks orange brown and it has nothing to do with the Toner she just didint lift it correctly and didint even blend in my roots BETTER FOR when my hair grows out!!!! I went to another stylist and she told me she ruined my hair and was genuinely just horrified about how it looked after. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND FIND A BETTER PLACE I PAYED 500$ for my hair to look like this….

Very clean. Everyone was helpful and professional. My stylist, Coley Epifano, knew exactly what I wanted and more importantly knew how to thin and style my thick, wavy hair.
The Salon is in between Ross and Scripps Clinic.

Was very anxious to get my hair done for the first time in almost 20 years but I'm so so glad I did. Excellent vibe in the salon and the staff are really welcoming and kind. Lici gave me exactly the kind of cut I was hoping for and I left feeling fantastic. Will definitely be coming back next time I need something done!

Would give this place 0 stars if I could. If you have thick hair don't come here. it's been 3 weeks since my cut and I can't wait any longer I'm going to get it fixed because I can't stand to look at how hideously they hacked off my hair. You'd think I was the stylists enemy. Still seething over how much a paid for this awful haircut.

Lici was my stylist at this salon and she was amazing. Got back to me real quick to set up my appointment, understood immediately what style I was going for with my haircut, and very professional. Will definitely be coming back again.

Hello salon/ stylist searchers- So a week ago I went to a salon in El Cajon (won't mention the name or person who botched my hair) I have long blond course hair which is on the thick side and needed a lot of texturizing and shaping. I called several salons and just went in by chance. I was assigned to a stylist who did not give me the hair cut I requested even when i had shown her pictures and wanted the style as a Butterfly/ or Wolf cut. I was very unhappy and dissatisfied with the results. Mind you this is a reputable salon but not known for the one of the BEST Salons in El Cajon. Anyway the following week I did more research and came across Thrive and read reviews and also was glad they were voted one of the TOP salons in El Cajon and Santee! I needed my hair cut fixed so bad. I called the salon and spoke to the owner and made an appointment and was glad they had an opening the same day and was assigned to SOPHY- God bless her she gave me the best haircut ever and was able to totally fix my previous unsatisfactory cut I had before. She did an amazing job. Now this is what a Butterfly cut should look like!! So happy with the service/ style results but most of all SOPHY! Thank you, thank you, thank you amazing job!!

The overall vibe of the salon is super cute and everyone who works there is very nice. The salon is located in a big parking lot, so there was plenty of available spaces to park in. I called Friday morning to see if there was anyone available to take a new client the same day, the salon owner took my name and number and someone reached out to me within the hour and was able to fit me in. Thanks a lot!

The worst salon I've ever been to. I initially went in to have my hair done ash blond with darker roots. Unfortunately I came out with brassy yellow hair. I don't understand how a stylist could be so off point. Then..... I wanted to get my hair and makeup done for my wedding. I was referred to Monica. My visit was a complete disaster. I went in with a bit of makeup on and she starts applying make up on top of the makeup I had on. I was like aren't you going to take my makeup off so we can start fresh. Nope! Then it really got bad her makeup skills are atrocious. I looked horrible. She lined my lips sho much that I looked like a clown then proceeded to do my hair. I wanted a bun. Well what I got was something that looked like I had a horn coming out of my head. Then.... She proceeds to charge me $180. What are you kidding me. I had to redo my entire makeup and hair myself. Idk but I'm feeling the stylists there are the bottom of the barrel. Nothing chic or classy about this salon or their stylists.
