I like this store + it's employees ALOT.Great stuff. Good sales. Great employees + Great customer service.Employees are always happy, helpful, + knowledgeable.I Really only buy her if it's on sale + is the lowest, as the prices are usually higher.Only thing I would say needs to be improved, is the stock. There is ALOT more online than in store.They seriously need to have more of the popular / higher sales firearms carried in store. And I mean Staples for years. Especially being a California Store. They aren't out of stock, they just don't have them in store, then need to be ordered. ????Just my opinion though.

Place is pissing me, I order ammo online and try to pick up an hour before closing and they can’t service me because they don’t run background checks. What a joke.

Just another typical day at Sportsmans warehouse. Line around the block at the gun counter. Two employees punching the clock waiting for their next break that cannot move any slower behind the counter. And supposedly only one guy has access to the ammo cabinet in a store that specializes in hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities. And that guy is on break! This is a complete embarrassment to the company and all the clients that keep it in business. Zero motivation from all of the employees, they all look irritated that people are here spending hard earned money so some guy can get paid $20 an hour to sit on his phone for 15 minutes on break instead of helping the people spending hundreds or thousands of dollars. You guys need to all wake the heck up and come to reality. Guaranteed if all these employees were on a commission basis not a single one of them will be complaining about the line nor finding every excuse to go on break.

Worst buying experience I’ve had at any store. Not enough competent people at the gun counter. Their appointment system is a joke, the don’t honor appointments made. Still had to take a number and wait around to do my paperwork

I was really excited about this place. They have a good variety of products and large inventory of products you cant find elsewhere in San Diego area. However, last time I shopped there I had a really negative experience. The customer service was very poor, almost insulting. The guy behind the counter apparently was hungover and kept needing to take breaks. The other clerk came over to fill-in for him while the hungover guy nursed his "spins" and was very short and rude with me like he was annoyed that he had to help his buddy out. I just told them thanks but no thanks and left. The low reviews on here for such a new big box store are really ominous for this location. Maybe in other markets you can mail it in. But a store of this size and rent that doesn't have the brand awareness in our community is almost certain to fail.

Do not go here to buy a gun. Only 2 people working the counter with 20 customers. Manager doesn't care and isn't helpful

When I complained to the "store manager" instead of attempting to resolved the problem, I was told that I was trespassing, and that I should leave the store and never come back. When you enter a store that's open to the public how can you be trespassing? I've checked the trespassing laws here in California and I was clearly not trespassing. I had every right to be there as I had made a purchase online and was there to complete the next phase of the transaction. I have written to the president of this retail chain and hope to hear back soon. If I can't enter the store to complete my purchase I suppose I'll have to ask for a refund. Be careful about criticizing the lousy service in this store as you may find cancel culture is alive and well at Sportsman's Warehouse in Santee.

I ordered ammo online to be picked up at this store. I haven't received an email or anything to confirm the order is ready (and Customer Support through the main site is super unhelpful.) I got an email that it was shipped but the order status on the site says pending shipment. Every time I call the Santee store to see if my order is ready, the phone rings 5 times (to either Guns/Hunting department or Customer Service), before the phone simply hangs up on me. I live 40 minutes away from this store and don't want to drive there if my order isn't ready. Please fix your phone system!

I had a good transaction immediately followed by a bad one. Ordered in a firearm online was able to come in and do the paperwork and submitted a paper copy of proof of residency at the time of transaction. Went to pick it up after my waiting period, No issues. Received the notification the next day that something else I had ordered was in store and but I need to come start paperwork. I arrived there the very next day after the first transaction was complete to start paperwork to be told that I had to kill trees and bring a copy of my Proof of residence again because they shredded them the night before after the transaction was complete. This is the only gun store in San Diego that does not hold on to proof of residency and shreds it when the transaction is complete. Furthermore an older employee at the gun desk when I brought up the issue started becoming aggressive with me, and then turned around and tried to gaslight me in front of everyone making it seem like I was the one being aggressive for calling them out on their stupid practice. Her behavior has made me deeply reconsider whether or not I will be doing business with this location again.

Maybe when you put an add out, you have enough product to cover the first customers in the store. I waited over an hour in line, I was insde for about 45 minutes once they opened, when a store member finally announced, "Anyone behind this point in line, you won't get any 9mm ammo,"If you plan on getting customers in the store with a deal and have them stay to buy other products when you don't cover said deal, you have the opposite effect on me. I will go to a different company in the future, even if it costs more just because you wasted my time.

Well laid out & stocked store. Staff have always been friendly during my visits.I've ordered once online and did a store pickup. This method was very quick and efficient.

Contacted customer service about the original complant below, and after a few emails they made everything right. Very professional and I am once again a happy customer.Went in to pick up an already purchased order, took 30min to get 3/4 my order and find out one of the items that an email said was ready for pick up and reserved for me was sold to another customer and now they are out of the product. This is after I was told the item was not in store and I read my emails wrong. Was treated like an idiot and had a purchase sold out from under me. I will not be returning
