I drove from Spring Valley to this High School for a water polo game. The High school is so nice I was almost jealous. My daughter plays water polo. The pool was equipped with bleachers, snack bar, and visiting team locker rooms. They really take thier sports seriously because the soccer field was all blue and white, with a running track around it. Of course there were bleachers.. this school is the whole package. They even have a Janitor who lives in a nicer house than I do. Well not really but pretty close. He lives just across from the soccer field, and pool. Senior parking lot is so nice most of the stalls are painted or decorated. I think it was a promo fundraiser it was really nice. Thanks West Hills for such a great experience.

Principle did not care that I got sent to the hospital by another student my sophomore year, then the school lets me walk in graduation only to turn around and revoke my diploma a few days later.

This is my second year working as the Teacher Librarian at West Hills High School after a career of working within the field of education for over the past 15 years. I have previous professional experience in two other local school districts, at levels from middle school through higher education, and as a classified, administrative, and currently certificated employee.Given the breadth of my experience, I can speak personally to the fact that we have an amazingly talented and caring community here. Whenever I have the opportunity to learn more about students and staff members, I feel grateful that I get to be a member of this "pack." Even though it can be hard to get going early in the morning, the moment I unlock the front doors of the library, I am refreshed and energized by the consistent kindness of students who enter. The people are what truly bring the campus to life everyday - it is people who matter and who make West Hills stand out.At the same time, just as I am happy when students have positive experiences at our school, it hurts my heart to learn about students who have had negative experiences. I care about all students and believe that they deserve to feel that they belong here and are accepted and respected by students and staff alike. I also know that I am surrounded by colleagues who feel similarly, and we invite conversation to find ways to continually make West Hills better and better for all students.

West Hills has a beautiful campus, however its physical allure is not indicative of the harsh treatment that many students of color may experience while attending this school. My children have been attending West Hill since 2013. I am a former member of the United States Navy and I lived in military housing near campus. For years my children have endured so many racial issues with students as well as with some teachers. I don't recommend allowing children that are not white to attend this school (specifically African American students) check with the district office if you find yourself stationed in the San Diego area and residing in Santee military housing -to locate other local schools that are more diverse (both student body and administration).
