Terrible service from manager Deborah. She made a poor joke that "it depends" when asked if she was the manager. Went downhill from there including unprofessional commentary and no follow through on agreed upon commitment to execute on tasks in a difficult situation. Avoiding her like the plague!

The absolute worst. Worst customer service. Worst online service. Worst security service. I've run massive amounts of money through Citibank over the past twenty years, but they have become almost impossible to do business with these days. On top of that, the Tiburon California branch is rude and unfriendly. They are also incapable of helping, as they just feebly try and use their own online service which is abysmal. So, instead of getting passed around for over an hour at home, you can sit at the bank and watch them get passed around for over an hour. On top of that, if they tell you they'll call you right back, they won't. As I sit in front of a bank employee and type this, there is another customer losing his mind with another representative here. I just want to spend my own money, and they make it utterly impossible. I just need to pull the trigger and move all of my accounts, savings and checking to another bank. Mortgage, too. I couldn't post this without giving them one star, but I tried to give them zero. It's my fault for sticking with them. Fool me once...

I went into the bank to withdraw some money, a larger amount of money. I have a medical exemption for wearing a mask. First the teller told me I had to wear a mask, I told her I have a medical Exemption. She said, it was a policy. Then another woman, bank staff came over and handed me a mask. I told them again, I can't wear a mask because I can't breathe. I told her I would put it over my mouth but not over my nose since I can't breathe. The next thing, the Branch Manager, Deborah Ward, came up to me with a very bad attitude and said, I'd have to wear the mask over my nose. I was so irritated at this point I said, this was BS, she immediately raised her voice and told me that I didn't have to swear. Ten I told her she did "not care about humanity", she started rambling about her father. I would not put the mask on, this is my human and legal right. It is against the law and the US constitution to force someone to wear a mask. She then, said just get your money.! I left, so stressed out with my blood pressure sky high at this point. Deborh went outside talking with a tall man and I walked past them, got into my car. When I drove past them, she started pointing at me, I just ignored them. However, I knew she was talking about me like an immature child. This was a terrible experience and she should be repremanded in some way. Customer of Citibank C. Scheurer

Very very slow customer service inside this branch. No matter what day of the week, what time of day - you stand in line while the teller (always just one) figures out what to do or how to work their system. Aggravating.

THE WORST BRANCH STAFF AND BRANCH MANAGER EVER! Granted I did read the negative reviews posted by others, I was really hoping my experience would be better. HUGE MISTAKE!!! Without wasting more of my time dwelling on the experience. I will simply say, stay away from these people. Take your hard earned money to another branch or bank, where you will be valued. Shorty put, Deborah the branch manager, is just tragic on multiple levels. She is confrontational, unprofessional, loud, condescending and just plain rude. She spoke over me, repeatedly interrupted me and was very abrasive. And sadly, she is the role model for the branch staff! So it's not a wonder that they too are unprofessional and lack manners. If you want to take advantage of the cash bonus account offers and the double cash back credit card, then Gabriel Ortiz at the San Rafael branch is a wonderful alternative. She is polite and professional, she gave me guidance when she learned of my financial goals and most importantly, she made me feel valued.

Their one ATM machine rarely works. More than half the time I try it is not in service. Pro tip: have a functioning ATM machine or install a second one for redundancy. This is why First Republic is the answer.

This particular branch of Citibank was basically a nightmarish experience. My father had just entered suddenly into Skilled Nursing, and our mother into memory care, (as our Dad was the caretaker of our Mom). His health suffered a sudden, unexpected downturn. We needed to pay his bills. We took in the entire Living Trust, fat binder and all, after speaking with the attorney who drew up the trust several years prior. We had to pay him for his time, of course. He assures us that everything is in place to manage parent's affairs, since they were unable to do so themselves. I can totally understand a bank wanting to protect it's client. To protect those who may have greedy children circling like vultures. However, we were not those children; we had the proper paperwork, and only requested enough power in order to pay for the skilled nursing and memory care facility, as well as their regular household bills. We even told them we would take cashiers checks that they drew up themselves, made payable to the companies that we owed money to. It took countless returns in and out of that bank, in addition to billable time with the attorney AGAIN & AGAIN, in order to finally put into place the POA that WAS IN THE LIVING TRUST TO BEGIN WITH!!! Not to mention the wear and tear of dealing with parents who needed constant care-taking. One near death. I think they enjoyed, especially the manager, letting us twist in the wind while they sat upon their throne watching us squirm. They as much accused us fraud, in an underhanded way, saying they had just seen our father the week before and he looked fine. Holy S! He did look fine. He was fine until he wasn't! We even tried to get our poor father into the car in order to drive him to the bank so he could tell them in person that we needed access to his account, as stated in the trust, in order to handle his affairs. Cut to four years down the road. Our father passed away, unfortunately. We want to sever all ties to this institution and the lawyer gives us the proper documentation to do so. I don't remember the name of the document, but it was notarized. We hand it to the "banker", and I use the term lightly, and he says he can't help us. Doesn't know what it is. Call lawyer back, are assured that the document is sound, are charged for that call. We decide to go to the Citibank downtown Santa Rosa. MUCH better experience. They know exactly what to do without any explanation from us. We withdrew all funds and closed the account. Like I said, I understand that they cannot go around liquidating assets to just anybody who just walks into a bank and wants access to the parent's money. But we had legal documents, a doctor's note, everything needed in order to pay impending bills...very expensive bills. I just don't understand why the manager decided to act this way. It was deplorable, painful and upsetting.

The worst branch ever. No cashiers checks no money orders no cash available to withdraw only one teller is working. Terrible customer service. Waited for 15 minutes to hear all that.

I have been with Citibank for 30 years and although its become highly impersonal, I must say that Deborah Ward, the manager, is great. She has helped me numerous times in dealing with Citibank bureaucracy, getting a substantial home equity loan, and overall a very nice person.

Do not get a mortgage or a HLOC from this company-ever. We ran into tough times and tried to renegotiate our 10 year HLOC, to extend the re-payment period, and they did everything in their power to drag it out. I was palmed off on 3 different agents, each one loosing my info, then requesting more and different info each time. After 6 months, still no conclusion- we wound up selling the house instead! DO NOT USE THEM! RATING= "F" on customer service. The company is so dis-connected, that our rep. did not even realize that the company had been paid back, and kept requesting more information from us. I finally had to write her to stop emailing me- the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing in this company as a whole.

Walked in for opening up a new account and soon was evident that most employees are below basic banking skill levels. Max Hillman, personal banker, had really no meaningful info about different account levels. Just shared the standard window flyer which is more like an elevator pitch. Tried to extract more details, but poor guy just didn't have the knowledge. Did he ask for help with any of his seniors/colleagues? Naaah! Talked to Deborah - how on hell is she the branch manager baffles my mind. The cashier had the look, why on earth am I working here. Can I be just done with the day. Banks are everywhere. Everyone does the basic money transaction, account handling, almost the same. If the employees at the branch don't know how to sell what their edge is, I don't know how they make a viable business. Citibank, are you hearing?!?!? This branch is in a prime location, with one of the least qualified people. Only if you care... I did my share, called your 1-866 number and shared the experience.
