I left Golden Gate Park to see the sunrise in the morning, watched the view from the observation deck, and came down by bicycle to see the sunrise. I'm worried about the uphill road going up, but I was moved by the momentary changing scenery. There were quite a lot of friends who caught crabs at dawn and it felt great when I came all the way here, relying on the headlights on the dark road. I recommend you to try it at least once if you get a chance.

This is where I first got interested in Marine Life. Next to the pier, a small jetty can be uncovered during low tides, exposing shore crabs, planarians, rock crabs, eels and porcelain crabs. Collected some shore crabs a few years ago - still thriving in the tank! Also, out of my 6 years fishing here in SF, I have caught nothing - except here! We caught many fish and red crabs - yummy! I will definitely come here again!

Great low-key spot with amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Try and go early morning or early afternoon to avoid fog and crowds. It doesn’t even get that busy here though compared to other spots.

Fantastic viewpoint of the Golden Gate Bridge that was completely empty (at the time we went) compared to all the other spots. Really appreciated the unique low angle of the bridge.Once you’re done you can then walk through the adjacent grounds which are stunning. Take the chapel trail up to the road and then you can do the short hike up to the top to get to the other viewpoints.Definitely worth including this one in the stops, especially if you’re a photographer

My second time ever at the pier since I was 16 years old in 1996. Be careful as there are missing parts of railing.

Fishing and crabbing from the pier is great. There are rails around the pier too. Watch your kids closely since the water is deep and cold and the railings are mainly for tying down the crab net cords.A good view the Golden Gate Bridge here.Parking is free and portable toilets available too.

This was a great place to wait out the morning fog before crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. I got to see a few brave souls swim the bay and a curios seal bobbing under and above the water watching them. Had a little nap then went on with my travels.

every local interests should visit this fear. It's a simple visit and there's plenty of parking. Go out on the pier and take some pictures. You can't get too many better pictures of the Golden gate Bridge. Bay area around Fort Baker is also amazing. Have a look at the Coast Guard boats.

Awesome place for taking beautiful pictures of the Golden Gate, the SFCO-Oakland bridge and San Francisco, while seeing some birds and sea lions. Specially good for Sunrise and Sunset. There are plenty of parking spots and it is easy to get from 101
