I didn't know I had so much to say about a post office, but I feel compelled to share our wonderful experience at this USPS! We drove here from San Francisco for our passport appointments, because it was one of the few places in the Bay Area with available slots. Happy to say that parking was easy. For the passport photoshoot, my toddler was scared and crying and trying to climb off the chair. But the photographer lady was so patient and friendly with her, and kept snapping pictures until we got a good one. I might be biased, but the final pictures of my kids are too cute! Next was the passport application process, and I'm like a frazzled juggler with papers and documents and two restless kids. But the clerk was cool, calm, and efficient. He got all the applications together, and also shared some tips and tricks about how to track the passport application status, and what to do if I'm still passport-less 14 days before my trip. He also said he genuinely loved his job, and that it brought him lots of joy meeting people and helping them with their passport applications. Love to hear it!Kudos to the friendly staff at USPS for making this mundane task a delight. If we ever need to do this again, you'll be first on the list.

So friendly and helpful! There was no line and I needed help with one of my packages because I wasn't sure which shipping option would work and they were informative, friendly, and helpful. The outdoor area is also beautiful. Lots of free parking outside!

We've been using this post office for 2 years and it's the best I've dealt with! Only one person there has been a pain to deal with, everyone else is incredibly helpful and friendly.

Came here out of town for a passport appointment. The staff was very friendly and professional, and although there was a backlog to process I felt everyone is getting attention, acknowledgement of waiting and on the end a quick and quality service. Worth traveling 10miles for this location!

This has to be the worst run and staffed USPS on the West Coast. Continually ridiculous experiences and wait times.

Not sure what's going on with the delivery process at Harbor but I've gotten someone else's mail twice in the last month. One pkg was from Kaiser and contained someone's meds. It's also happened other times in the last few yrs but that was junk mail. Mis-delivery of US mail (esp to a diff neighborhood or street) should never happen.

The most unfriendly and unhelpful of all the post offices in Marin!

I have had similar situations as other customers have stated, lost packages. After standing in a line for 30 minutes I was told therewas nothing more to be done other than put in a claim through USPS. I have never had an experience that did not take less than 30 minutes at this post office, from money orders to shipping to purchases, be ready to wait an insane amount of time.

We live nowhere in the area. So how did we end up at a post office in Sausalito? Well, it was the only location in the greater Bay Area that had any openings for passport applications. It's so hard to get an appointment, I couldn't believe it. So, we had to take a day off and make an entire day out of it.The passport room was locked off, and we ended up just doing the paperwork at the front desk. The clerk was a bit flustered and grumpy, but not as much as his other coworker. Never ever have I experienced a USPS that was satisfied by their job.On this day, their camera was broken, so we had to go to a nearby UPS store to get our pics taken. We headed back and the process was relatively painless. Paid our dues and were out of the office within 15 minutes for four applications.

The Sausalito Post office's computer ? has been offline, for two weeks. My PO Box was closed, for none payment, which I wasn't aware of, during the same time of their computer system shut down, I never received a bill, which has been the process, for over twenty years.I talked with Postal staff,Terry about paying my bill. He stated that, he couldn't provide me with a bill, since there computer's we're down, for two weeks. When post ? computer system, was up again, no, Postal box bill could be located or provided, because it never was made.I requested accommodation with my mail. It was denied and Terry, wouldn't provide me with any of my mail. Terry, stated that he had been returning all my important mail. Terry been employed at the Postal service, for forty years, as a clerk, he should by now, have experience and excellent customers service, which hasn't been my previous experience with Terry. He is very unprofessional. It would be a great service, to all the people, who are subject to have to interact with Terry, that he resign or be resigned to another location. As of 12/27/21, I haven't had a response, from Terry's supervisor. Also when I did meet with, supervisor, she was also, extremely rude with me, which I was surprised.I had to sign up, for a new P.O.. Box at the same Sausalito location. I put in a change address there, and my mail was still being returned to sender. It took over three months to resolve this issue. My question to the Postal service, was my treatment that I received, race related, since I'm a person of color and also a woman ?

Nice friendly helpful staff but what happened USPS is 2x the cost of UPS and takes 5-7 for priority mail ups was less by $2. And was 3 days plus the package is converted for $100 with UPS and only $50 with Government shipping … seems like they priced themselves not even close to private competition ….

I like the staff here and I generally have good experiences. But it's ridiculous you cannot even buy stamps in the lobby "after hours." It's 2022! Put a machine in the lobby like many other POs where you can at least buy postage and drop something to be mailed. It would also alleviate the regular counter line.

UPS has an agreement with USPS that any thing mailed through UPS for Sausalito with be delivered to the Sausalito USPS for home delivery. Every day for over a week I get a notice that my package is being delivered the next day. But below that line it says "Acceptance pending ". I go to the post office to see if I can pick up my package. The person I talked to (probably the longest employee there, and if you're familiar with him you'll know who I'm talking about. ) goes in the back for a few minutes and say "There's nothing back there." I call UPS and they tell me they have the same information as me. In other words no one is responsible for my lost package. Fortunately the company that I ordered from is sending me another package through a different service.
