I cannot express my gratitude enough for Art Ruvalcaba and his invaluable guidance in navigating the complex world of building credit. With my ultimate goal of purchasing a home in mind, I found myself facing a significant obstacle when the loan officer informed me that I needed to work on improving my credit first. Thankfully, Art stepped in and became my beacon of hope. From the very first meeting, Art displayed an impressive level of knowledge and expertise in the realm of credit building. He took the time to understand my financial situation, aspirations, and the specific challenges I was facing. Art's ability to explain intricate credit concepts in a clear and relatable manner made me feel at ease and confident in his ability to assist me. One of the key steps Art recommended was obtaining a savings secured loan to establish credit. This loan, backed by my savings, allowed me to build a positive credit history while demonstrating responsible financial behavior. Art went above and beyond in helping me secure this loan, providing me with a thorough understanding of the process, discussing the potential benefits, and answering every question I had along the way. Under Art's guidance, my credit began to improve steadily over the course of the following year. He offered invaluable tips and strategies to optimize my credit utilization, build a solid payment history, and manage my finances wisely. Art's commitment to my success was unwavering, as he consistently followed up, monitored my progress, and offered further guidance whenever necessary. When the time finally arrived for me to apply for a mortgage, I was overjoyed to see the fruits of Art's labor. Thanks to his dedicated efforts and the solid credit foundation we had built together, I was able to secure a mortgage and purchase my dream home. It was an absolute dream come true, and I owe a significant part of this achievement to Art's unwavering support and expertise. Not only is Art incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but he also possesses a genuine care for his clients. He understood the importance of my goal and worked tirelessly to ensure my success. Art's patience, approachability, and willingness to go the extra mile created an exceptional customer experience that made all the difference. If you find yourself in a similar situation, where building credit is crucial to achieving your homeownership dreams, I wholeheartedly recommend Art Ruvalcaba. His expertise, guidance, and unwavering dedication will help you overcome obstacles, establish credit, and ultimately realize your dreams. I am forever grateful to Art and cannot thank him enough for making my homeownership journey a reality.

Juan Carlos Valtierra at the Scotts Valley branch of Bay Fed is an exceptional loan officer. By carefully reading a used auto contract, he helped me save $1200 off the purchase price of a car. He is knowledgeable ant trust worthy and connects with his customers in a professional and caring way.

I would recommend any credit union, but this one the staff is terrible. (Mandy Williams) Their manager smells like booze. (She is a known alcoholic) They treat people by the amount of money you have in your account I’ve had terrible experiences with these people I would definitely say stay away.

Juan Carlos Valtierra - Loan Officer at Bay Fed is awesome! Efficient, accurate and fast. We were in Brazil and needed a pro to get it done whilst we were 7-k miles away; and he did, professionally, friendly and ASAP!Also the entire staff at Scotts Valley Bay Fed has always been top notch for the decades that we have gone there. Last year for instance we bought (another) auto via Bay Fed auto loan, and again without a hitch. Thanks Juan Carlos and staff!!!

Writing this review as a shout out to Art Ruvalcaba! I have been a long time customer of BayFed and worked with Art on my recent auto loan. From the beginning, Art was very responsive, patient and helpful. Art and I were waiting on an item from the dealership before being able to proceed. Today I received a last minute notification that the item was ready and the dealership was going to deliver my car in a few hours. Even though Art was out of the office today, he jumped on this immediately, keeping in close communication with me, remaining extremely patient, and getting everything in order super fast. What really stood out the most was that, even though it was his day off, Art never complained about this once and remained friendly and patient. Was just happy to help and wanted to make sure he was there to support, and kept me in the loop throughout the morning on where we were in the process. Really exceptional customer service and thank you Art for all of your help!

I applied for an account online. I never received any "you're approved, welcome" type letters or emails, just started receiving spam promotion emails and a few pieces of random mail, one of which had an account number. Okay, guess I'm in? I never got a debit card. I went into this branch to cash a check (the whole point of opening an account) and they said I can't cash checks for a few months. They are the only CU in the county. Good luck paying rent and bills if you need to cash your checks! I asked about the debit card. The teller said I should've gotten it already, and put in another order, saying I'd get it in a few days. That was weeks ago. Guess I'm not getting my debit card. Now I find out they charge $10/month if your checking account balance is under $1000. Making profit off poor people? That's a no from me homie. I'm closing this account (and I saw they will charge a fee for this too, of course). Take your business elsewhere .

My husband and I have been loyal members of Bay Federal Credit Union for almost 40 years. We recently encountered an unfortunate potential scam situation. The manager at Bay Federal in SV Julia along with her staff were incredibly helpful, supportive and understanding. We are forever grateful and will continue to remain members

I have been a member since before they were called Bayfederal and have constantly had to deal with their random and not very apparent service charges. I have one account that nearly disappeared after not checking it for months despite having other accounts that had more than enough funds. Another time I had forgotten to transfer funds for an automatic mortgage payment and I was charged not just once for overdraft, but multiple times as they sent payment, then rescinded, sent payment, rescinded, sent payment, and then rescinded. Each time charging me their overdraft fee.I've also applied for mortgage loans with near 800 credit and never heard a response whereas mortgage companies were calling, texting, and emailing for my business. If you want to hold accounts here prepare to pay the fees, constantly manage your accounts, and battle all the technical issues that occur.

A good bank with friendly helpful staff. They haven't lost my money yet and they seem to give it back each time I ask.
