By far the best goodwill store in the county. Prices are not that high. The Capitola store is the one with the highest prices. Personally I love the SV store.

The Scotts Valley Goodwill store is managed in a manner that penalizes the less well off by having far higher prices than other location, and not testing their electronics. Refunds are not given, even with receipts, even when promised, instead only a card which did not work. Even though all this happened in the same day with the same manager, I wasn't even given the pricey little radio lacking the tuning belt back, nothing. Also they charged me for a bag, when I used my own bag, which shows there is no interest in honesty. So I really hope people will avoid this location, and find more honest locations to donate to, and to purchase from.Thank you, CB

Prices have gone significantly higher of non clothing items compared to a year ago. Can buy new at Grocery Outlet, Home Goods and at other outlet stores. Don't need to come back here again. Such a shame as I have shopped here for many years.

Always find something worth buying at this location. Staff is great at keeping the aisles clean and fully stocked. Great selection of dvd’s and clothing. The price of clothing has gone up in price at all the locations, Sometimes I buy new at Kohls.

Stopped in to look for some things for the family. This is a really clean Goodwell. It’s really big. It’s very well organized. They have lots of variety here. I have tons of clothes, shoes, and household goods. The bathrooms are clean too.

Not a huge location- but very convenient. I usually stop by a few times a week and can generally find something great in the home goods area- or clothing. Friendly staff. Clean location

EDITED May 13,2023:WOW things are really turning around at this store! Maybe with the change of seasons they have more staff? There is a new manager who is super calm and kind, I've seen his interactions with staff and I'm very impressed. Thrift stores are challenging places to work. The inventory is getting a noticeable makeover and I witnessed the intake guy actually *refusing* some slightly dinged-upfurniture.I've been popping in almost daily and finding good, useful items. In discussions with other community members, I learned that they get a lot of new clothes with tags and stickers still on. So I'm scanning the clothes again ( I gave up due to the popularity of strong, sickening laundry soaps)There are still dollar store items jacked up 200-500%, but also good deals and staff are *constantly* bringing in inventory. Quality furniture is running $30 and up, but newer flimsy stuff is often around $10.************Giving just three stars because this store has gone downhill overall. I would, however, be willing to chalk up their shortcomings to high volume and (I'm guessing) high employee turnover? Goodwill accepts EVERYTHiNG. Little to no screening at their donation sites, except for their fundraisers which they milk for maximum sellable items.(I'm referencing the fill-a-truck fundraisers) In addition to accepting just about any donation, it seems that they will also hire anyone at least to give them a shot at learning how to work in a retail environment. This store receives some great stuff and the best way to snag it is to check in frequently but be VERY CAREFUL in your choices because they regularly put broken or extremely dirty items out for sale. Also be patient as some employees have never worked anywhere and haven't figured out their skill sets yet. Don't take it personally if you ask a question and the worker stares with their jaw agape. They will either be fired or leave relatively soon.

This is one of the best Goodwills in Santa Cruz county. It's big and clean. They have a nice big section of hard goods ranging from vases, to knick knacks & decor. Prices are overall fair but occasionally they are a little higher than market value. They have a huge clothing section as well. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff and amazing selections for clothing and household items etc (they have like everything) and they keep the place extremely organized its really impressive. They even have try on rooms which helps a lot since they arent the absolute cheapest, though they're still cheaper and what you expect of Goodwill prices. This location does carry a lot of expensive items so the brands they have are still extremely discounted. Clean store and every time i go in i find what im looking for and the employees are always nice and helpful :) Have found some of my favorite clothing pieces here

As a very frequent shopper of this goodwill, I am disappointed to say that I will no longer be giving this location my business. I had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience with the store's manager. It began when I found a tank top that was priced at a whopping $21.99. While this price is absolutely absurd I still decided to buy the top because I liked it that much. I walked up to the register where I was told that the credit card machine was broken so only cash would be excepted. I had a $20 bill in my wallet and began to scrounge up loose change that would add up to $1.99. After taking the time to gather up quarters, dimes and pennies, I came up 2 cents short. The manager refused to take $21.97 as payment for the shirt, and actually had the audacity to solicit me for more money as I was digging through my wallet to find extra change to cover the ridiculous price of the item. I asked if they still offered a student discount, or if they had 2 cents laying around which was met with a cold "no." I ended up having to bother another customer for money as there was no alternative. I would also like to add that this individual appointed as a manager is lacking basic customer service skills. I never received any apology for their credit card machine being broken all she said was "Well its not my fault." It's super unfortunate that a business that I visit literally every single day is so greedy and rigidly unaccomadating even to their most loyal and regular customers. I have rounded up to the nearest dollar almost every time I have purchased something from the goodwill. It's a huge shame that the same basic generosity cannot be returned. If I was a few dollars short I would understand why they couldn't let it slide. But 2 cents, seriously?!

I was on my way home and found this goodwill. Plenty of parking. The place is very well organized and was very clean. They had some really good things in great condition. I was able to get a dressing room and try on some things. I read the reviews I don't know what people are looking for but these places run off donations so they need to be more realistic. I personally liked my experience didn't have an issue at all. I was able to leave with 2 pair of shorts.
