The new groomer (Ruby) and her manager (Patricia) are THE BEST!!! My baby was taken care of. It was our second visit at Posh & I felt that this second time was better. I love how she cut my puppy's hair and how symmetrical everything was this time. We had a very pleasant experience here. The location is beautiful and clean, smells good. We will be back in a few months!

Terrible. Dropped off my sweet bernedoodle had a conversation in person and she really was not matted at all, per the conversation at 9 AM . Then received a phone call no message at 10:30, drove back at 11:30 and they've now decided her chest was slightly matted, went back a second time talked in person to the groomer and the owner and reiterated just like in the AM I don't want her body shaved, they did that the time before and it took months to grow back. Went back for the third time to pick up and my pup is completely shaved. Her hair is less than 1/2 inch long all over, she's pretty much naked. They left the top of her head longish and pretty uneven, weird shelf area over her eyes, looks like a kid with a bad haircut and didn't trim her ears at all. Frankly she looks ridiculous. Obviously beautiful to us but you charged me $120 dollars this time and $140 the last time to shave my dog. You either don't want to groom her or don't know how . Huge disappointment.

Posh Pooch did an excellent job on my Mini Golden Doodle, they left him looking soo cute. This was his first hair cut and I was not sure on what to do, they suggested what we should do and they definitely did a great job.

We have been long-time customers since Melissa opened her shop in OC. The past two times we had Patricia -the new manager, grooming our two doodles. They looked amazing and smelled great. We can tell she really cares about our dogs. The receptionist was very friendly, like the other groomers. We understand the price increases and we will continue supporting them!

I really was hoping the outcome of the full grooming service was going to be good, but I was disappointed. I don't know why it's so hard to find a good groomer with the aesthetic touch needed. I asked that my dog's fur not be cut too short, but the opposite happened. I asked that her "bangs" be trimmed but left looking natural. She came back looking like she had a bowl cut...straight across. And the price I was quoted when I made the appt online was NOT what I was charged. And what was more shocking, I was told the price included a first time 20% discount, but that discounted total was still nearly 20% higher than the quote online. So I actually paid 30% more than what I expected. I would recommend that this groomer NOT provide quotes online when appts are made if they're going to be drastically different after the job is done. Perhaps they should give the client a quote in person after seeing the dog or some other method that doesn't give the client sticker shock. I think there are other groomers at this business. Perhaps they are more skilled than who I had today. Not sure if I would risk it though. Like I said, I really wanted to like the service here and make it our regular choice, but not sure after this experience.

This place is awesome! My boyfriend has been taking his dog here for around a year. I picked his dog up for the first time and was impressed by the friendly staff and location. Not to mention his dog smells so good every time she goes there! We highly recommend bringing your pup here if you're looking for a trustworthy and friendly place!

I was a 14-year client of Melissa's; she and her staff were always wonderful. I took 2 dogs to her every 6 weeks and would book out the full calendar year. Sadly, Melissa sold her business and moved to Florida with her family. In less than 2 years Posh Pooch has been bought and sold twice. The first owner did some price increases (not great) and a lot of ala cart pricing (felt like a semi-creative way to price gouge), but overall, the quality was still there and I had my regular groomer (Linda). Then within a year she sold it to some guy who hasn't a clue about how to run a business or customer service. The last time I went in (6 weeks ago), he had removed the signs illustrating the services and prices, most of the retail items (food, some pet accessories) were completely gone. It looked like they were on their last leg. Then when I went to pick up my dogs, I was shocked with a bill of nearly $170 (without tip) for two small dogs that just had the basics done (trim, not full cut). There was no warning beforehand that he was jacking up the prices like that (total switch and bait). On top of that my regular groomer left (as did several other groomers). Needless to say after nearly 15 years of being a customer, I will never return. When they reached out this week, via text, to see if I wanted to book an appt. I responded by telling them exactly why I will be taking my business elsewhere (Animalia) and asked them to pass this along to the owner, as he should not be blaming his staff for his poor business acumen. I am sure Melissa would be heartbroken that some goofball has completely run her business into the ground. She took it so seriously and cared for all her furry clients and their parents. It took her years to build it up and he destroyed it in a blink of an eye.

Ive been taking my dog to posh pooch since they opened in seal beach. Always had the best experiences and the customer service was always fantastic. They took care of the dogs so well. I never leave reviews, but this is the second time I've had my dogs haircut be a complete disaster. She wasn't even dry when I picked her up. Some areas were uneven, some areas not even cut at all. To have a price increase, but a decrease in quality is really unfortunate. Very disappointing to see the amount of care that posh pooch once had take such a decline after the ownership change. When I was given my dog she was jumping everywhere and was handed to me through the window. I carried her the entire time I was paying and the cut seemed fine at the time. I didn't get a good look because she was in my arms and I didn't think it could have possibly been as bad as it was, as I have been getting her groomed here for the past 4 years. I didn't see how bad it was till she (a white fluffy dog) was sitting in the passenger seat of my black car. I immediately called about five min after leaving while still in the car once I got a good look at her and voiced my dissatisfaction. As for getting it corrected, not all of us are able to set aside another 3-4 hours to bring our dogs in. And the fact that you've had to correct so many haircuts is a bit ridiculous in my opinion. Maybe if they were being done the first time correctly you wouldn't be needing to increases prices so much to make up for the wasted time giving the same dogs multiple hair cuts. I also sent in photos of how crooked she was. Now that it's been a few weeks it looks even worse. If you'd like I can post before and after pictures as well as pictures from her previous good hair cuts given by the old groomers.

Don't normally post reviews but was very touched by Patricia's care for my baby. This was his second time getting groomed and I was worried leaving my pup but she kept me at ease the moment I stepped foot in the building. My appointment was at 7:30am but I didn't get to feed my pup breakfast bc I didn't realize grooming would take that long. I told Patricia about my concern and instead of being irritated/judgmental she was very understanding and was able to accommodate us for a later time EVEN when they were short staff and fully booked. Fast forward~ we arrive to his appointment and Patricia sat down with us to talk about what she will be doing for his service. This gesture brought me comfort making me feel the care she has for my pup. When I picked him up, Patricia greeted me and introduced me to my pup's groomer, Alex. They gave us a briefing of how my pup did & it was an overall great first experience with them! Booked another appointment with Alex in 7 weeks! Thanks Patricia& Alex!

Expensive. Cost $92 for grooming a small 20lb dog, who was not all that hairy. Otherwise no complaints. Might be cheaper some day soon to just buy a new dog.

Terribly disappointed in the negative transformation of this business. I had heard from a friend of her concerns in their last visit. Such as: 1.) They let a big dog coming charging out at the little dogs waiting in the lobby. 2.) They wanted to give her the wrong dog. I had never had such an experience so I called in advance to express my concerns. I was assured they were aware of that day and it wouldn't happen again. They claimed it was due to their dental day. Well, the groomers had no control of the dogs. Far too many big dogs at once and there was an aggressive German shepherd allowed to roam. My poor dog's haircut looks like someone drunk did it! He has a majestic tail that is a big mess. I hope in time when it grows one can fix what they did to my dog. Add insult to injury? They doubled their price on me with no notice. We go there monthly. Shocking to be charged $141! An odd number at that. $195 for 2 dogs. The other they did no haircut. Even though I had asked for Hugo to have a haircut. A blessing in disguise now. I have since learned they are charging others $40 to $50 more without notice either. Ouch. Why is my bill for my double double then? "Curious minds want to know." They need to possibly close down and regroup. Definitely get some of the former groomers back.

I started taking my two senior dogs here years ago, and was very impressed with it in the beginning. Melissa, the owner, was on-site constantly, and was fully involved and cared about the dogs and the customer experience. I felt comfortable leaving my dogs here (which as a dog owner is hugely important). The groomers all seemed competent and friendly, as was the front desk staff. It was orderly and clean. After the pandemic hit, unfortunately, the quality began to decline. The owner told me she was having a really hard time hiring groomers, and that employees were quitting right and left. People from her church were filling in at the front desk. Then she stopped being present at all. I knew she had two small kids and wanted to scale back, but I have not seen her there in two years. She may not even own the business anymore. Either way, the deterioration has been shocking. The front desk has screwed up multiple times and lost my appointments. They confirm for a specific time, and then send a separate confirmation for a different time. The shop is messy and disorganized. Worst of all, the attitude of the staff is negative and sullen across the board. The friendly environment is no more. During my most recent visit (which was also the last time I will patronize this place), I showed up to find my regular groomer had suddenly resigned, and they had reassigned my dog. I was uncomfortable with this, as the replacement groomer had a hostile demeanor and honestly looked like she'd be down to fight. She grabbed my dog, and started quizzing me about what I wanted done, while prodding him with her ridiculously long talon nails. Meanwhile, large dogs (that I assume belonged to the groomers) were romping freely around the grooming room. It felt chaotic. I was uncomfortable leaving him there- he's a medically fragile senior. I saw no kindness or compassion for animals from any of the staff. Just irritation. I was told it would take two hours, and it ended up taking four because "my dog was being difficult". He is a quiet, calm old man! I knew then he was not being treated gently, and couldn't wait to pick him up. When I arrived to collect him, I saw she hadn't groomed him the way I had asked, but at this point I just wanted to leave. He has warts on his skin, as many senior dogs do, and they had been nicked and were bleeding. She didn't even make a peep about that! He was also panting, and was obviously stressed. Then I went to pay, and was shocked that the total had gone up by FORTY PERCENT! I said I see you raised your prices, and the groomer cavalierly said just a little. HA! If you love your dog(s), and value your money, AVOID this place! It's gone down faster than the Titanic.

We took our 6 month old pup here for his first grooming and he looks amazing!! He feels so soft and the groomer advised us to start with a trim and bath so he can get used to it, which was really thoughtful and nice. They did everything I asked for and more, I feel so comfortable taking him here. When my fiance went to pick him up, Motley was being held and cared for. We will continue to come back here for all his groomings!
