The biblical teachings each Sunday are solid, thoughtful, and deeply rooted in scripture and always delivered with such conviction and even a sense of humor by Pastor Nate. Other pastors, have similar, sound teaching styles and bring variety and wisdom to the team. The messages are both theologically sound and incredibly relevant to everyday life; helping you grow spiritually while offering encouragement and hope. You leave feeling refreshed, challenged, and reminded of God’s goodness.

What really sets Calvary Monterey apart is their heart for families and children. Children’s Ministry programs are engaging, safe, and centered on God’s Word; making it easy for parents to trust that their children are being nurtured and taught well. It’s clear how much intentional care goes into nurturing the next generation and I am so happy that I have found a place where I can confidently leave my children and know that they will be well taken care of.

The sense of community here is amazing. The life groups are incredible and provide a space to build meaningful relationships, pray together, and walk through life side by side. This church doesn’t just feel like a place you attend on Sundays, it feels like a family you want to be a part of and who wants you to be present as well. Even “antisocial” folks like myself, find their place in the crowd.

Calvary Monterey lives out its faith through action. Their support of The Bridge and other social justice efforts shows a genuine commitment towards serving others and loving the community beyond the church walls! It is inspiring to see faith put into practice in such a compassionate and tangible way. My favorite partnerships have been with Set Free Monterey Bay and Safe Families.

Additionally, there are so many diverse events throughout the year that bring people together in fun and meaningful ways (festivities, Easter, Women’s Events, Youth Camp, and so much more). Whether it’s worship, fellowship, or outreach, there’s always something that helps you stay connected!
