“With the hectic holiday shopping season now in full swing and still much more to do, we escaped to beautiful Carmel. Shopping instantly became a no pressure experience. We rediscovered the new location of Atkins Fine Clothiers now located downstairs in the welcoming Carmel Plaza.
We felt we went to one of our favorite destination on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills! The now larger space, allowing for much more selections, has the upper level for men and ladies in the glimmering lower level. We found the exact special gifts my wife and I were looking for each other!
And had a most gracious holiday experience while being served by members of the Hala family.
We will definitely be back sooner
to visit Carmel’s finest clother!!”

From the moment you step inside, it feels like everything has been chosen with care—nothing rushed, nothing generic.
As far as the best boutique in Carmel-by-the-Sea goes, this is easily at the top of the list. There’s a quiet confidence to the way the space is put together—soft light, natural textures, and an almost instinctive sense of placement. You don’t feel like you’re being sold to; you feel like you’re being let in on something.
It’s also one of the most unique clothing stores in Carmel I’ve come across. The pieces are understated but striking—things you don’t see everywhere, but also things you can actually live in. There’s a balance between beauty and wearability that’s surprisingly hard to find, and it makes browsing feel more like discovery than shopping.
In terms of overall experience, this is what people mean when they talk about the best shopping in Carmel California. It’s not about quantity or big names—it’s about finding something that feels specific to this place. Something that couldn’t exist quite the same way anywhere else.
And if you’re looking for a gift shop in Carmel-by-the-Sea, this is where you end up finding things you didn’t know you were looking for. “The wife and I found this store when we were walking around Cannery Row. It opened in 2018 and sells new clothes, shoes, and accessories. They also do consignment for limited edition Jordan's, Yeezies, and other sneakers. The worker who helped us was very friendly and helpful, and the store is very organized and clean. “This place is PACKED with gorgeous clothing (dont want to label it but to me the overall style felt like a western bohemian), accessories, home decor, and so much more. The store has half womens and half mens, so it was nice for both my husband and i to be able to spend time looking through everything without worrying about whether the other person had enough to look at. The owner obviously adores her store and it definitely shows through all of the items she handpicked and how she’s decorated and maintained this lovely store. Would recommend checking it out.”

“Monterey Hot Topic is the best one I have ever shopped at. The store is always clean and easy to shop. Everything is where it should be and makes sense to the shopper. My youngest is a hardcore HT customer and only likes going into this location. From the first time I walked into this location customer service is more than amazing it's personal. They all take the time to look at my account and see my past purchases to make sure I'm not getting the same items or when I can't figure out what to get they suggest similar items. I have held the position in retail from a new associate all the way to DM and I would hire each person in there because of their outstanding customer service and dedication. In the 2 yrs that my kid and I have been shopping here I have never had a bad experience.”

“This condensed Pebble Beach store says outlet! Almost everything for kids, men, and women was reduced 40% to 70%. Of course I found a great deal on a front opening very pink jacket with logo at a discount And some cute tennis shorts for grand kids at 70 % off

“We're always greeted and the staff is friendly and tries to be helpful. The store's layout is very wide, not deep, so this difference can make it seem difficult to scan for what you're looking for - at least for our family. The store does display a number of items I don't remember seeing at the other Zumiez we go to.It's easy to find, at the end of the outdoor mall near the theater. There are a lot of other stores appealing to youth down at that part of the mall so it can get crowded and with just one dressing room we've often had to wait in line for a bit.”

“We stayed at the Intercontinental hotel which is basically right next to this store. It had some very cute clothes. I didn't expect it to be so chilly and we didn't exactly pack for cooler weather. I purchased some very nice sweatshirts. They were about $70 each. They were very nice quality and worth the price. There were some clearance sweatshirts around $25. Lots of souvenirs that were priced fairly well. The employees working were SO kind and so helpful. We were greeted when we walked into the store. I love that about a place. I hate when you walk into a shop and the workers just stare at you.”
“Clothes at Kohl's typically run a little expensive even with deals. However, his store is rarely ever busy (at least the times I've gone) so makes great for when you need to get in & out quickly. Workers I've encountered at this location are pleasant and helpful. They also offer quick Amazon return drop-off”

“Clean store, friendly staff, pricing is a bit high even stuff that's on sale but they have the best selection of tank tops that I like to wear. Sometimes I do find really good bargains in the clearance section but you gotta be able to take your time to look, since it's all mixed up.”
