Studio is nice. I had just backpacked carrying 40+ lbs up elevation, my legs were still a bit tired. I asked for feedback/guidance on a pose because my quads were shaking. Can’t remember which brother was teaching but his response was to just yell to the whole class that it was because “I had no strength in them” Great teaching technique dude, I never went back. I’m sure there are good teachers there, but really? Not impressed.

Highly knowledge and experienced teachers. Beautiful studio. Great variety of classes from morning to the evening. Probably the most traditionally rooted yoga studio I have even been too. Iyengar, Ashtanga, Viniyoga yoga taught by master practitioners who learned directly from the Mr Iyenar, Patahbi Jois, & Desikachar. Would 100% recommend visiting Westside Yoga Studio.

I have been attending the Monday Viniyoga morning class for about a year. Evelyn is an amazing teacher, very knowledgeable, supportive and has a wonderful presence. I leave feeling like my body is more integrated and energized and my mind is open and spacious. A great way to start the week!

B.K.S. Iyengar. His 100th birthday would be this year. Erick Thuss, co-owner and principal instructor at this studio studied with Mr. Iyengar. Erick believes his obligation is to share what he learned. This is an amazing studio. John Smith directs the Ashtanga program. He studied with Patabi Jois in Mysore. Mirka Kraftsow teaching Viniyoga. Sarah Jenness leads an amazing restorative class with sound healing. The depth of the teachers...over a century of study offered with alacrity...attracts a wonderful community of students. When I first showed up six years ago, I was amazed at how skilled yet encouraging my fellow students were.If you are living in the area, or just visiting, this study is the place to study. This studio also attracts amazing visiting teachers...Eddie Modestini conducted a ten-month teacher training starting in October 2017. Brian Hogencamp of the Iyengar Institute of San Francisco comes up to teach weekend workshops.

I've been doing various styles of yoga for about 20 years, recently moved to Sebastopol, and was delighted to see that they have Iyengar instructors here. There are a lot of kinds of yoga in the west, some hybrid and some styles that take inspiration from yoga - which is ok - but if you are searching for authentic lineage-type yoga that has been developed and refined over millennia then this is one of the rare places you can find it. Tessa and Erik are talented instructors, down-to-earth and approachable. If you are new they run weekly introduction classes. The studio is well laid out and clean. Highly recommended.

Went to WS for the first time. Loved it. Erick is very knowledgeable, a bit unnecessarily apologetic for the rigors of the practice but otherwise very instructive. Also, a bit wishy-washy regarding whether women should or shouldn't be doing particular poses while menstruating (just pick yes or no... we will be ok with it). The community is very welcoming. The studio is "cozy" ;) but who needs space anyway. Check it out. I will be going back.

Beautiful, well appointed studio focusing on Iyengar, Ashtanga and Viniyoga, as well as other styles. Instructors have studied directly with the Iyengar and Jois families. Warm, welcoming & friendly.

I took an awesome class today taught by Sarah Jeness called Yoga for Healthy Aging. Sarah is a wonderful teacher who combines Iyengar, Vini Yoga and Restotative yoga. She helped me to release my hip and sacroiliac and gave me new insights into my sacral spine and ways to manage the issues I'm having. I highly recommend this new teacher and class at Westside!

Wearing good form fitting, moisture wicking top comes in really handy if you’re not keen on showing off your tummy during inversions. Namasté
