I cannot recommend this mechanic enough! You’re not going to get a better deal for work this good. Joe has been my mechanic for 7+ years. He is very, very good at what he does - I can’t trust anybody else with my car! He will tell you the truth, so listen to his advice. His prices are very fair, while other mechanics in LA price-gouge, lie, or worse. I knew I could trust him when I made the mistake of buying a lemon. He was genuinely and righteously angry at the dealership who had sold me the car and refused to charge me for the inspection he did. He insisted that I bring every car to him *before* buying it for an inspection from then on. I was very young at the time and this made me feel safe. This was so important to me as a young woman. He has taken great care of my car, and thanks to him it has lasted way longer than I thought was possible. Even though I no longer live in the valley, I still visit Joe because I can’t find another mechanic who is more trustworthy, consistent, reliable, and affordable. The trek to the valley is worth it, both financially and for the peace of mind. Thank you for everything, Joe!

I highly recommend! He even provides a list of recommended work to be done either immediately or over time! My car decided to completely stop working on me while I was driving down Sepulveda from the valley to LA, and Joe and his team eventually found out what was wrong with it. When I initially called Joe, I was very frazzled from my car situation, he slowly, clearly, and calmly explained to me what they would do to find out the problem and how the total will be calculated. Joe is very personable and receives a thorough explanation of what led to the problem. I strongly appreciate that they took the time to do diagnostics before jumping to conclusions like I had assumed I needed a new battery. Boy, am I glad that wasn't the case! Joe also does his best to find the best and most affordable solution. I know it can be hard to find a mechanic team you can trust: you can trust this one! I think the only downside is that they're not open on weekends to provide their lovely services, but everyone needs their rest days! I hope I can find a reliable trustworthy mechanic like Joe to go to if I ever encounter car trouble over the weekend.

I could sincerely write a novel at how incredible this place is and how amazing their staff is. I have very limited knowledge on cars and maintenance and without fail they answered every silly or dumb question I had with grace and made sure my car was in top condition. I went here numerous times over the last year for minor and major maintenance work. They drove to pickup parts for me to ensure a quick turn around and continually went above and beyond to make sure my car was safe to drive and all fixed up. I came in on a Friday early afternoon, clueless and without calling ahead. Joe gave me immediate attention as I explained my car was dead in the garage at the end of the street as I'm his neighbor and I needed help replacing the battery. He sent his guys over to walk to my garage, check out my car and bring it over to the shop. They were able to replace the battery and salvage the terminal cables which had a bit of acid damage on them from the battery discharging and idling. By mid afternoon, I got my car back. It was fast, the price was fair and they were professional and patient in helping me understand the repairs and potential extra expenses if they couldn't save the terminals. My uncle owns a shop in Ladera Heights but whenever I don't feel like driving, I'm coming here. I'm very happy to live next to an honest mechanic.

JOE AND HIS TEAM are amazing. Job well done, thank you!!!!!I’ve had my car since 2007 all previous services were done by the dealership, Casa De Cadillac, were I bought my XLR. They had my car literally months and could not resolve the issue, but kept telling me they did, giving me the car back but within days, sometimes hours, It would have the same problem. This happened about 6 times and Casa de Cadillac never fixed it!Joe on the other hand, found and resolved the problem. I can’t express the appreciation I have for him and I would suggest anybody who wants an honest, hard-working, nice, troubleshooting mechanic head to automotive M&M on Van Nuys Blvd. in Sherman Oaks. The check engine light was on in my 24-year-old vehicle with 155,000 miles. I brought it to Automotive M&M, and Joe diagnosed it as a faulty catalytic converter. He gave me two options: a new catalytic converter or a less expensive aftermarket one. I chose the less expensive option. Two days later, the work was done at exactly the quoted price. Joe went out of his way to ensure that the car passed its smog check (which was crucial since I needed a smog check to renew my registration). All I can say is that if you're looking for a trustworthy mechanic who does high quality work at a fair price, Automotive M&M is a good choice.

I'b been coming here for nigh 20 years, and beside letting me use the word "nigh" in a sentence, M&M is a stellar place for car workI know zero about cars, and trust Joe and his crew implicitly. They do great work and have always been very fair about pricing Want to know how much I love M&M? I moved to the Westside in 2014, and still truck over the hill to drop off my car when it needs work. I've been going to Joe for years now, 3 cars and counting. Always honest, extremely reliable, and prices are always very competitive. He won't try to upsell you, he'll tell you what needs to be taken care of now and what can wait.
