We went to drop clothes and household items at the store in Sherman Oaks at around 6pm and the doors were locked and the guy inside told us it was closed. It says they are open until 9pm. This is the second time we have to leave because they won’t open the door.

I live in Sherman Oaks and as an avid thrifter, I rely on this Goodwill for 2 things: last stop in my circuit if I didn’t find anything good at the other shops, OR go-to for late night last minute runs (for example, I do floral arrangements and sometimes need to grab a glass vase for a customer’s order).
My favorite things about this Goodwill are:
1.) The cashiers- I usually see the same few young people at the register and they are so hardworking and polite, always conversational, with great customer service attitudes even when the store is swamped!
2.) Glassware- there’s ALWAYS a nice big variety of glass vases, all different colors, shapes, and sizes; drinking glasses and decorative glassware too.
3.) Lamps- I have found the sickest vintage lamps here 😍 Sherman Oaks is vintage lamp country for sure…
4.) Picture frames- again big variety, and the prices are super worth it considering how expensive picture frames are new. Just be sure to measure your artwork or bring it with you to check for a good fit!
I don’t buy clothes here (or at any Goodwill) because as a company their pricing policy for clothing is objectively wack. If you’re looking for beautiful clothes hit up any American Cancer Society Discovery Shop; or the Salvation Army Boutique on a sale day.
The parking lot IS super small so I sometimes park on the street to avoid it.

I love this place! There is seriously the best finds for whatever you need. I’m an actor so I always am looking for good deals for different eras, plays, films, shows and auditions! This place is now under new management too and has been all spruced up with a great new energy! The new manager, Carmen, is also the manager of the Tarzana Goodwill and she’s lovely. Carmen and the associate Kris helped me today and the ladies were so helpful and patient with me. I’ll def keep going back!

Please call before making the trip to donate! On Wednesday 4/25 around 6:30pm, I went to drop off a heavy box to donate during business hours and the donation center was locked. Went inside the main entrance to ask to donate and was told their donation center was "closed". I even asked to leave the box inside the main entrance but the cashier woman said something along the lines of "I'm not accepting anymore donations today". I decided to leave the box in front of the donation center as it was very heavy. Wish the lady was willing to help me but she looked like she didn't want to be bothered.

Just happened to stop into Goodwill and notice a large group of management people and later learned the CEO of Southern California Patrick McClenahan was in the store. I showed him a pair of leather pants with two holes by price tag placement and told him it was my biggest pet peeve at Goodwill. Let's hope by talking to the person in charge things will finally get better at GW! After spending an hour shopping I found four items after inspection had to leave behind because they had holes from bad price tag placement. Ugh!!!!!!!

The clothes were organised by type and size but all the sizes were jumbled up which made it hard to shop. While the store itself was pretty clean a lot of the clothes were dirty or had holes. I didn’t get anything but the men section looked pretty good.

Carmen and Leticia were SO helpful. We were their last customer, because they were so full already. We had a truck full of stuff, so they had the look of "where the heck are we going to put all this?" After initially telling us they didn't have room for some of the stuff, they went that extra mile and made room for us, so we appreciated that very much.
