Haven’t stayed in a cabin but my family and I take our family and reserve an RV space. They have been very accommodating to us when we need it. Site is always clean and so much to do for the kids!!Downtown Placerville and AppleHill are minutes away!Nearby activities: If you’re looking for dinner or a quick bit/ dessert, there are plenty of spots downtown Placerville. If you have the time to stroll all day and hit up some farms head to AppleHill

We stay here a few times a year to visit family, usually just a night at a time, this was our first time with it not being a KOA. Check in was great, our spot was very nice. They always seem to have a moving going Saturday night. A very nice RV park.

We had a wonderful stay at Placerville RV Campground—a family-friendly and quiet resort. Check-in was easy, and such friendly folks ran the place. Would definitely recommend.

There is not a KOA here any more. Look for 'Placerville RV Resort & Campground' instead.

It has been quite a few years since we visited shingle Springs Campground and it’s just as beautiful as we remember it. Very clean nice dog park, clean pool and hot tub. Staff is very friendly and helpful. And all spaces are clean yet for this visit I wish we could’ve actually pick the number site that we had. We have a 42 foot fifth wheel and the site we had was long however not Wyatt at all and not much space on the sides which was sites which was Site 98. And another thing that wasn’t very pleasant was sites 89 through 98 or directly close to the freeway so you pretty much here the freeway all day and night.

I didn't stay here my friends did but this was what I could see when I visited them. There is like no grass in the trailer area. There are only weeds with burrs. There are burrs all over the place so if you have your dogs with you check their feet because I found them in-between each of my friends dogs toe pads. The location is great it's in-between 2 very nice towns and not to far from other larger cities if you want to check them out too. If they fix the weed situation at least where the trailers are then they could probably be a 4☆ place.

Okay campground sites (not a KOA) but will never go back. I would rate this a zero star for families if there was the option due to the unprofessional lurking night manager. They have a strict 10pm curfew. The night manager Tom would lurk around our campsites at night with his flashlight off and harassed my family and friends and our small children. We were respectful and not loud but Tom would stand in and around our camp sites and would listen to us talking by our trailers. He would stand in the dark, not say anything and would wait and watch. He acted like he was trying to bait us into a confrontation. He made our stay uncomfortable and gave us all the creeps. He also would recklessly race around the campsite on his golf cart 15+ mph in the 5mph zone at night. If I would have read the one-star reviews on Yelp prior to our stay we would have never booked that place. Several people left reviews and had the exact same negative experiences. Staff has difficulty with their computer processing payments also. They say they’ve been short staffed for years. I tried paying Friday, but staff didn't know how to split up the payments for a group. Tried paying again the day of departure on Sunday...3 times went by the store after they were supposed to open at 10 the office was still closed after we left by 11am. By Monday morning they figure out how we could pay online and invoice was paid in full at that time. The response below says we didn’t pay as of Tuesday but that is untrue. The customer service by the manager was unprofessional and unapologetic and continues to defend the lurking night manager’s actions even after harassing our small children.

Expensive for what you get. A few friends gathered up at a camp ground to talk and relax only to have a employee lurk from a distance and stare at us. Pretty weird.. campground was pretty empty so a couple families moved to a open area to play a card game only to be kicked out shortly after. We explained we were there to be close to our kids attending the movie night but that didn't matter to them. Felt like we were being harassed by mall cops the whole weekend.

The place is beautiful. Great for kids. Nice pool and amenities. Jay and other staff were very accommodating. There's always someone from the staff cleaning, picking up so the place very nice. Thanks for having us!Nearby activities: Placerville, Auburn, American River, tons to do
