Great place to camp or reserve a cabin. The views are spectacular and there are plenty of activities, like hiking, fishing and swimming. Go there every year. Some of the family camps and the others stay in cabins.

My wife and I have been going to sardine lake resort for many years. We have dined at the lodge over those years but never stayed in the cabins. The lodge is nestled on lower sardine lake looking straight up at Sierra buttes, one of the most stunning views you can hope to see. This accompanied by exquisite dining makes for an outstanding special; it was our 29th anniversary. The camping at sardine lake campground and others is great and convenient. I highly recommend sardine lake resort .Nearby activities: Swimming, hiking, bike riding, reading a bookSafety: Safe wilderness environment.Food & drinks: Outstanding food and wines

Wow, what a hidden gem! We enjoyed the cocktail bar at 5:30pm. It was busy when we arrived but when people started heading to their dinner reservation we had the place to ourselves. Great drinks, the bartender was generous and so friendly. The views are unbeatable. Definitely a memorable spot!

Beautiful location and cozy old lodge. The challenge we had was making any reservation. The phone lines were down, contacting by email was ineffective, and plans need to be made months to a year in advance for lodging and weeks early for dinner. Private parties close everything and last minute cancellations were not well conveyed by waitlist.Boat rental was fun and easy.

Second time we've dined here. In fact, we scheduled our trip to the area around our dinner reservation. As expected the food and atmosphere did not disappoint. The bison was amazing as was the duck.

Beautiful views from the restaurant windows as well as the bar down at the boat dock. Our dinners were very good. We started with a crisp green salad and very good dinner rolls. My husband had the seared salmon with summer succotash, tomato coulis and micro greens and I had the vegan special-Sweet potato and black bean cake, summer succotash, squash purée and micro greens. For dessert, my husband chose the cheesecake with fresh berries, I declined, but did have a couple bites of the cheesecake. The presentations were beautiful, however, the portion on my husbands meal was a little on the small side...some potato, couscous or something along that line would have been good in my humble opinion because he was still a little hungry afterward. But then, Hey!, we're big eaters. Lol. Overall, we enjoyed our dinners. The restaurant is very charming, warm and inviting. Like an old fashioned rustic lodge. Sardine Lake with the back drop of the Sierra Buttes is a true jewel in the Sierra Mountains and being able to enjoy a drink and delicious dinner in such a beautiful setting is a real treat. We would eat there again, for sure.
