Chuy's truly has some of the best food I've tried in this area and everything seems to be made with high-quality ingredients. Their happy hour is pretty great , but the baja and yum yum sauces are why I'll always come back anytime i'm nearby. They also have cool live music nights and other events that are pretty nice for date night or for coming with my family. And the staff is always really warm and helpful.

Severely overpriced. A tri-tip burrito ( which was mostly composed of rice in a giant flour tortilla) a soda and chips with salsa (which you have to pay for), was $27.00 including tip. Next time I'll go to an actual restaurant where you receive service and eat on a plate and use metal utensils.

I haven't been to a Chuy's in I'm gonna say 20 years so really, this was like a first experience for me. The last time I was here, I remembered the chaotic wall art, and being a little frightened that my parents would bring me to someplace that I assumed was a dive bar. Going back on a random Monday with my friend for lunch and a margarita. I will say I am so pleasantly surprised and happy I returned. Let's start with a margarita! Is this margarita the best one I've ever had? Absolutely not. But is it delicious? Very much so. My friend and I decided to share the tri-tip and substituted french fries for the rice and ended up getting refried beans instead of pinto beans. Our waiter was the coolest human being and didn't mind all of our insane substitutions. These fries are absolutely top-notch, and the meat was so tender and delicious. I enjoyed this meal more than I thought I would. When we checked in on Yelp, we ended up getting a free soda, which was a really nice touch. Yes, this place is chaotic just like it was my memories, but it was also so much better too and I really can't wait to come back.

I had a blast at this casual bar and grill! The atmosphere was fantastic, creating a really fun vibe, especially with the live music on weekends. However, I must admit that while the experience was enjoyable, the food left a bit to be desired. Not bad at all but didn't "wow" me. The service was excellent, waiters were kind and quick!

We went to eat dinner here based on reviews and a full bar. We arrived around 6:30 on a Saturday night and the place was hopping but we were seated right away and the person who seated us brought us two margaritas pretty quick and left some menus. She did not explain the process of ordering or getting food so after watching people we figured it out. You have to go to the counter to order drinks or food and pay. At that time I got in line to order our food which went well. It seams the person taking orders was new and not giving out order numbers to place on table so they did not know where the food was to go when it came out. We did get our order after several other attempts. The drinks were good. The food was only average at best. The main items are tacos and burritos so pretty basic and hard to screw up. Wrong, the burrito was carnitas was very dry and tastless with very little sauce, my wife ordered tacos which she did not care for (tacos are her favorite) that came with rice and beans which tasted like they came right out of a can and the tacos were only average. It is hard to really miss with Mexican food but Chuyu's was not very good food. The atmosphere inside was very good and noise so if you go head to the outside patio to fink a table. Also you need to go to the counter to order and at times you need to go back to pick up the order when it is ready.

I love this place. I've been coming here for 10 years and the food has always been excellent. Prices are reasonable and my kids love all the video games. It's a fun family atmosphere and the service is always friendly.

We usually go on Tuesday nights because all bottles of Mexican beers are only $3! We also really like Kim the friendly bartender. She was our favorite at Islands and we were stoked to see her working here after Island shut down.

Until tonight, I have never had a bad meal from Chuy's Mesquite Broiler either at the restaurant or delivered. Their tri-tip, chicken, and fish have always been excellently prepared. Fries are always perfectly crisp without being dry. As I said, until tonight. Tonight I ordered the fish & chips and what I received was a slab of greasy, limp-breaded gray-colored fish laid on top of fries that were soggier than al dente noodles. It was disgusting to look at, as well as uneatable. After a few bites, I tossed the meal in the trash and sadly I will not be ordering from them again in the future.

I'll start by saying I've been going to this Chuy's for 30+ years now - and have lived outside the area for ~20 years, but still return to SoCal - and to this Chuy's - on at least a fairly consistent annual basis for the tasty Tri-tip sandwich (w/ cheese!) the fabulous fries & perhaps the world's most sweet smooth & creamy Root Beer "on tap" - without question these items are some of the best I've had (even considering national and world-travel)! Throughout the years have also always previously gone to Chuy's, in equal part, for the "Chuy's BBQ sauce", and the unusually scrumptious free chips (with a self-added sprinkle of spice, to personal taste) & salsa. Love the lively ambiance, here, as well (even in spite of not being a sports fan) and historically would have leaned toward giving a full 5 stars. However, on my most recent visit (last week), I was disappointed to find that the chips & salsa are no longer free, can no-longer be self-spiced (this is at least somewhat understandable given Covid conditions) and the BBQ sauce is now seemingly a brand you can purchase in grocery stores, instead of their own??... not sure why these changes. Will still continue to visit on occasion when I visit the area, but this and the inconsistency of quality of service (the last few times, I've been, I've experienced both really friendly service and not so friendly...) are the reasons I don't give it a full five stars at this time...Nevertheless, it continues to be a Simi Valley treasure.

What a disappointment. I usually get the tri-tip Ranchero burrito but what I got yesterday was a $16 rice and bean burrito with one tablespoon of tri-tip. NO sour cream, NO avocado slices and NO salsa on top. A tiny pile of lettuce, tomatoes and onions on the side. NO chips and salsa or salsa bar like they used to have. Sad that they've gone the way of cheap food at high prices, just like everyone else. The service was fast and friendly though.
