While visiting Tahoe for winter break there were literally no other snow parks opened yet. Boreal was one of our top contenders to bring our kiddos to for tubing as the pricing seemed pretty good for 90 minutes. Tube is provided, you may not bring any of your own snow equipment (liability reasons), highly advise you buy your tix online, and a conveyor carpet belt is operated when having to go up the mountain again, meaning no exhausting hike back up! Pricing is $59 p/person. Yes, a bit pricy if you have a lot of kids or family to pay for but totally worth it. Imagine how much tubing kids could achieve knowing they wouldn't have to climb back up the mountain versus being brought back up? Tix can be purchased at the booth near the entrance of tubing. Be mindful you will need to walk ALL THE WAY to the other side of the resort to print out your Boreal cards and complete the waivers for each person. Doing all this in person definitely eats up a lot of your tubing time not to mention whatever daylight is left. Purchasing online you already have your tix, waivers completed, and can see what time slots are available and RSVP for. Everything was fairly organized when entering the tubing area. You waited in line prior to access being granted, got your card scanned, grabbed your tube, then headed on up the conveyor belt. There were several lanes to go down on and similar to a Waterpark with waterslides the employees waited until the bottom was clear before sending others from the top down. Only con I have is you are only tubing by yourself which could get boring after so many times... I missed my kids having the opportunity to slide down with each other like how other snow parks allow on sleds and discs.

No stars. Worst service I have ever been associated with. Had 6 kids trying to snowboard and their system wouldn’t process 4 different credit cards. We had to re enter info on their online portal and sign waivers 3 different times before they finally processed the credit card. The worst part is I asked to speak to a manager for help and 3 times I got denied and stood up. I was told they only do transactions online and we were out of luck. Well we didn’t mobilize 8 people to be out of luck and turned away to go to another resort. Thanks Boreal!!! Got to resort at 9 and didn’t get on the slopes until 11:30 but still had to pay a full day. $700 plus in lift tickets. Complete joke. I have never seen such poor customer service. Stay away. You get what you pay for at this place. Pay the extra and go to a resort that actually cares about their customers. I think any place would be better.

As beginners, it was our first time skiing. On the first day here, we practiced basic skills, such as wedge turn, pizza, edge control for deceleration and stopping. We came here for the second time a day later, warmed up and then went directly to the green line lift to go uphill. My daughter and I very smoothly completed the downhill ski and it gave my daughter a lot of confidence. We went on the lift and completed downhill ski a total of five times without interruption. We played another day and after the warm-up, we went up the lift and completed the downhill ski ten times until dark. We love Boreal Mountain California, although there’re too many beginners crowded during downhill.

Always a perfect place for kids to enjoy the slopes with skis as well as indoor options at Woodward bunker which is the indoor skateboard park. They also have tubing lifts. Over the years the prices have gone up - so to justify the increased prices they definitely have to add more parking spaces, provide better Wi-Fi and add more servicePortals to expedite the food and drinks service to reduce the looooog snaking lines. I have been going there for about 19 years and don’t see myself stop going there anytime soon provided they keep elevating the experience so that people like us don’t mind paying per inflation versus places which just keep increasing the prices but never upgrade their services or infrastructure. They should definitely look at reducing the prices for tubing lanes and add more lanes on that hill so that after paying $100 for an hour I am not standing in lines for 35 minutes out of total 60 I paid for.Really good place for people who wants to get started with snow sports as they have bunny hills to decent size black diskon along with amazing infrastructure and trainers for classes for beginners to advanced.

Nicely located. Great staff at restaurants and retail. Rental staff excellent. Snow school staff and training instructors, need some improvement, but weather conditions could be impacting their own service performance

You got people working there literally screaming and using profanity towards people who are misdirected on parking, if you guys ran a better business and routine there wouldn't be no problems. It's 2023, we post everything on social media. You wouldn't want someone representing your company like that.

Not as crowded as heavenly Meadows and things kept moving throughout the day without much delay. Lots of food choices at the two food courts. The biggest grieve that I have is they should let parents accompany children with lessons and/or equipment without necessarily paying extra, just your company.Lots of slopes to keep the kids busy.Like that they have a conveyor belt style lift to take beginners up.

Boreal is close to the Bay Area, affordable, and open till 8pm. Every ski resort has its target market, its ups and downs, good and not so good days. Having a season pass both at Boreal and a different resort is a great way to keep the snow season interesting. It's like having a main squeeze and a side piece.

Boreal mountain is awesome! It's the closest spot for us down in Roseville to get up too, personally I love the culture there everyone is always so welcoming and likeminded. They have the best park in Tahoe in my opinion, if your a die hard park rider and you don't ride boreal you don't ride park. Boreal staff and what they have to offer at the mountain is something I've never experienced before! Get yourself up there and I promise you'll have a blast!

This is the worst place to go.Avoid at any cost. Money grabbers. We are party of 12 reserved tickets for tubing for Thanksgiving day 2023. Reserved tickets 3 days in advance. Once we reached here, lift was not working at the tubing area. We have kids who couldn't climb up for sliding. Upon requesting the refund just for the kids who couldn't walk up, they blatantly rejected and offered change day coupon. We drove 300 miles for this and they are expecting us to drive again to use these coupons. When we asked to talk to the manager, manager never shows up and said "do whatever you want we don't refund". Absolutely worse customer service. Someone should file case on them for grabbing money from people without providing services.

We popped in here to get some pictures of this little lake which was pretty nice. We didn't stay very long so I don't have much to say other than that. Parking was pretty easy.

Nice slopes. Great instruction area for beginners. I got a good instructor.I encountered multiple unhelpful and dismissive staff during rental process. The signage for first time visitors is inadequate, so that’s why I need to ask for directions. Multiple times I got wrong instructions and I had to walk across the whole building and to end with all my gear. However, I doing see my next visit bring this tragic. Now I know where to go.Another BAD thing is that they expect you to tip for self serve fast food. It is already marked up to resort pricing, so it just rubbed me the wrong way.

Good fun for the beginner to experienced. Not as big as some but plenty of runs.Went up April 7th with a forecast of snow all day. Didn't make it up early and ended up late in the afternoon. Weather was on and off but the extra snow was very nice and powdery. Sadly the lower quarter of the runs were packed and icy. Get to the very top and fall all you want before you get to the lower half.
