Soda Springs General Store is Soda Spring's and Donner Summit's one stop store. It is the only local store for many miles around, a true general store and a wonderful amenity for the community. It features an array of food, drinks, grocery items, clothing, general merchandise, and fishing and camping supplies. The store offers groceries, produce, dairy, and a full deli with sandwiches, gourmet cheeses, baked goods, chili, hot dogs, tacos, rice bowls, Ahi poke, and daily hot lunch specials including Reubens, smoked brisket, meatball subs, lobster rolls, pizza, and deli meats and cheeses. The homemade sandwiches and in-house pizza are particularly delicious. There is also a great selection of beer and wine and kombucha, both packaged and on tap, including decent wines and great coffee. The store has a large patio to enjoy the mountain air, summer weekend BBQs, and occasional live music on the weekends. The people are super helpful, genuinely warm, gracious, and the nicest owners imaginable. It is a great little central spot and highly recommended. The new bigger location is 1/2 mile from the I-80 freeway Soda Springs exit 174.
