I wasn't very impressed with this store. Being in Solana Beach, it is in an upscale city of San Diego county. A person walked into the restroom that has no key or keycode with a fullsize, fully loaded backpack and was in the restroom for 20 minutes, I had checked the time that he entered, because I had suspected he probably went in there to bathe in the sink. He was laughing and such while he was in there, probably cellphoning, texting, etc. When I left he was loitering out in front with a bicycle and his pack, sitting right at the door. Inside the store, in the health and beauty aids section, today, 09/23/2023, there was still a sale tag on a shelf item whose sale ended on 09/16/3023. Being less than mile away from the San Diego fairgrounds, as well as the very popular Del Mar racetrack, as well as being in the affluent Solana Beach city, this CVS should be a model store, but it is far from it. It needs a lot of management TLC to get it up to speed to its' surrounds. Its' location does not match the upkeep of the store itself.

By far the absolute BEST customer service I have ever experienced at any CVS location. As many previous comments mention, Cody and the entire pharmacy team ALWAYS provides fast and informative service. I am very grateful for the time effort and energy the entire team always provides me. THANK YOU!!!

We love the pharmacy dept at this location!!! Cody is the best!!! He is always smiling, helpful, courteous..... and the pharmacists are lovely as well!! Keep rocking Cody!!! We love ya!CVS on Coast Hwy South in Solana Beach.

You do not want to count on this pharmacy for your prescriptions. Not only are they extremely rude and condescending, they don't know how to deal with insurance companies or insurance codes or and 5 out of the 6 prescriptions I've had filled here, it's taken multiple phone calls on my part, back and forth to the pharmacy and doctor, to get it straightened out. When they couldn't figure it out I told them I would pay cash for the prescription and they said they needed to receive a denial from my insurance company first, but to do that I would have to have the doctor re-submit something (no clue what). In the meantime it was just sitting there waiting to be filled. And this was just a basic prescription. This is the normal kind of stuff you deal with at this pharmacy. I switched over to them about 5 months ago because my usual pharmacy had run out of my medication and this one was actually closer to my house. I wish I had just waited for it to come available at my last pharmacy. I'm going back to them and will probably bring them flowers and Starbucks gift cards to show my appreciation for them after experiencing this nightmare of a Pharmacy. You don't have time for their games and rudeness, trust me. The guy this morning on the phone: "your doctor didn't give us the code for the insurance and we need it" Me: (after dealing with this every month with them and knowing the doctor gave it to them) "It's fine, I'll pay out of pocket" Him: "like I said 2 seconds ago, we need the code". Thank goodness my doctors office is gracious about the number of times they have to call and deal with these rude clowns.

I went to the ER for a very painful shoulder issue. They sent my prescription to this CVS at my request. When I arrived there straight from the ER, they had JUST closed the pharmacy as i walked up. I asked if they could transfer my prescription to another CVS that was open later. However due to the type of medication, they were unable to do so. I was in extreme pain and really needed the pain medication. I literally started sobbing I was so frustrated and in excruciating pain. As I walked out the door, trying to call the ER, the pharmacist ran out after me and told me they would open back up and fill my prescription. I was SSOoooo grateful. They have restored my faith in humanity, which seems to have diminished lately! It made me feel like this was my local independently owned pharmacy, not a big company location. I don't know their names, but it was a female pharmacist and a male colleague (not sure what his position was) and this happened last night. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I hope management reads these reviews and will commend these two employees. You are fortunate to have such dedicated and kind people on your staff! I am definitely a loyal customer.

QUICK STOP ! This has been our fav CVS store since we moved to Solana Beach in 2015. The staff are friendly and the store looks clean. I popped in here on Wednesday to pick up some talcum powder. I used the self check-out and was gone within 60 seconds !

This staff at this CVS are quite unhelpful. The second there is no line the person behind the counter disappears, so when you are ready to check out you have to wait several minutes while you try to get someone's attention. They don't wear anything to distinguish them as staff so they are not easy to find. You can usually find what you are looking for from groceries to OTC medications and the pricing is average.

CVS on PCH in Solana Beach. The location is great. They have a nice selection of snacks, pharmacy, toys etc. Staff is very professional with a fine attitude.Recommended for travellers on PCH between San Diego and LA.
