Their attitude towards you is heavily biased based on how you look and I'm assuming how much money you look like you're willing to spend. I was hardly greeted and saw the girl look me up and down with a dissatisfied look and go back to her conversation. An older woman was enthusiastically greeted and conversed with as I was leaving.

Wife bought me a billfold wallet from them over the weekend. Love how compact it is considering I mostly wear athletic shorts. Leather is buttery smooth and I can’t wait to see how it ages. Will definitely come back after eyeing some belts they had on their website

I LOVE this store. I’ve never actually been there in person but can’t wait to make a trip to California and hit the store in person. I’ve bought a few items from them online, and the customer service is outstanding. Also can’t beat the free shipping. Top notch retailer.

A+ customer service!!
In addition to having a beautiful selection of high quality leather goods, bags, accessories, shoes, they were top-notch in dealing with a small issue with a bracelet I purchased there.
From their quick response, to immediate replacement of the item…they were absolutely a pleasure to deal with!
I highly recommend visiting this shop when you are in Solvang!

They have such high quality leather jackets, bags, and other accessories. You can smell the leather as you walk into the store. Bought an amazing slinger, next time I visit, I'm getting a jacket.

Travis was very helpful and very caring about finding the gift for my husband. The wallet is excellent quality. I would highly recommend this shop in a heartbeat. His return policy and genuine kindness is the best. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I will eventually get back down to Solvang and visit Travis and the leather shop.

This store welcomes you with the smell of leather !! It's wonderful and makes you want to try on every jacket !! So many styles and colors !! Shoes are amazing so original and just gorgeous!! Last year we purchased some boots for my husband this year for Valentine's Day my husband bought me a Brighton purse !! Just fabulous!! Elise, Travis and Tara were the best !! They all gave great customer service and showed us all Brighton collection !! You must go by there !! Buy yourself a nice gift you deserve it!! Souvenir from Solvang !!

TLDR: Customer Service: A+. Availability to Try Before Buy: A+. Sizing and Shipping Requests: A+. Tip: Come with credit cards, don't look at the price, and leave with smiles. :) - - - - - - Never would I have expected to stumble upon a leather store and be exposed to expensive fashion while visiting Solvang, but I really enjoyed the experience at First Street Leather. This was my first ever experience at a leather store, and i was amazed at their variety of products. But coming from a frugal mindset, those $$$ were scary. In particular, I remembered seeing a coyote fur piece in the Ks... (Maybe I'll get there one day...) My friends and I tried on a couple pieces, and we eventually purchased one of their highlights - a pink parka. I appreciated how Elsie (I hope i spelled that right) encouraged a customer to wear what they felt comfortable in / enjoyed versus what gender it was marketed for. I ended up enjoying one of their pieces so much that I ended up thinking about it the entire night... and I'm so glad I picked up her business card. Elsie was quick to help out and even mentioned that shipping was free if we wanted it shipped to our home address. While I was hesitant on the pricing, I thought about it for days and eventually sniped what was the LAST size on the product I wanted. The piece arrived in a day, and I was impressed with the care taken in packaging. For storage, they even provided a high-quality hangar and complimentary bag!

A must stop if you are in the area. Very friendly staff and wide selection of leather goods that are such great quality. Staff has knowledge of leather and how to care for it. Pricing is comparable and not over priced. They also offer shipping if they don't have what you want in stock or decide to say yes to something later.I've bought in store and shipped an item, both were a great experience.

Wonderfully kind, welcoming, and helpful people at this establishment. I purchased a leather wallet with a lot of compartments for all of my cards, as well as a Fedora hat, and I’m very pleased with my purchases.
