This was our second time at F&O. Despite our visits being years apart, the menu was almost entirely the same. The meal was great but a little redundant. Neither of us appreciated the oyster or the scallop dish, but the rest of the meal was spectacular.

Excellent food. We selected the 5-course menu and wine pairings. Because we both picked the alternative selections for each course, we ended up sharing and thus experienced the ENTIRE menu and all the curated wines. Beautiful and intimate interior. Service started off well and then it felt like they directed their attention elsewhere as the night wore on which was disappointing. Overall, would still highly recommend.

This boutique restaurant was a real find. The service was impeccable yet casual, friendly and welcoming. The cuisine for each course was exquisitely prepared and presented. The staff was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic with wine pairing suggestions, and some excellent local wines were featured. The rooms were comfortably appointed and the atmosphere was quiet and intimate. This restaurant is the perfect finale to a day in wine country, and we look forward to many more visits!

Absolutely outstanding food, service and wine! We had the 5-course meal with wine pairing and each dish was fantastic. Small, intimate little restaurant with nice ambiance and everyone who served us did so with a smile and told us all about each dish that we were going to eat and where the wine came from, etc.. They are a Michelin plate award restaurant and I've eaten at a few Michelin one-star restaurants and this felt every bit like one. We will definitely be back again.

This was our second visit. First time out we had the 3 course meal, this time we decided to do the 5 course with the wine pairing. Food was truly excellent, as was the wine. Servers had a thorough understanding of the menu and wines. Courses came in a timely manner, and we never felt we were being rushed( in fact, we were last out, lol). We will definately be returning again next year.

We had a great time at First and Oak. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and it was definitely memorable. We went with the 5 course meal and there wine pairing suggestions. We both loved there wine pairing choices and the food was Amazing. My wife has celiac and they did a great job of accommodating her needs and making it a wonderful experience. We would definitely go back for a special occasion. We both highly recommend it!

attentive service from the time we walked in the door. Our server was very good, and knowledgable of the menu. Wines were a bit pricey which seems odd as they own the winery. We are locals, and would recommend to all.

Wonderful five course menu, prepared, presented and served with style and grace. Wine pairings enhanced the dining experience. It was a special evening and our guest couldn't stop talking about it today.

We ate here during restaurant week: 3 courses for $50. The food was delicious. Wine by the glass is expensive, and I don't like the extra charge for kitchen help. The room's acoustics are not good, and one man's loud voice almost ruined our dinner. Although each course was well prepared, I would not return because their regular (only) menu is a 5course tasting menu. But if that's your thing, go for it; your taste buds will not be disappointed.

Food was absolutely perfect. Short ribs melt in your mouth, halibut seasoned and cooked to perfection. Do not miss out on the cauliflower. The beet and persimmon salad was incredible. I'm not even a fan of beets and I ate every morsel. My partner and I don't drink alcohol, and they had an option of a non-alcoholic hibiscus beverage that was perfect and paired so well with all the food we had. Absolutely will be going back.

Enjoy everything very much and would go again when we are back in Solvang. We opted for the 3 course menu and chose to pair the meal with their local wine selections after getting the rundown from Alanna our server. We split the cauli and beet salad appy and then shared the fish and gnocchi, all were very good and the local wine pairings for each course worked very well. The highlight for us was the chocolate honey dessert it was so good. Great service and food...well done!

My wife and I were gifted a dinner at First and Oak. The person who gave us the gift accidentally misspelled my first name on the gift certificate, but when I made the reservation online I wrote my name correctly. I also noted that my wife wouldn't be drinking because she's 8 months pregnant. When we got to the restaurant, the host, without any prompting, apologized for the misspelling of my name on the gift certificate and told us they prepared an entirely pregnancy-safe tasting menu with non-alcoholic drinks for my wife. I could get into how awesome the wine was and how great our waiter (a commissioned artist in his own right) was and how funny and engaging the sommelier was, but the attention to detail and kindness the entire staff showed from the very second we walked in the restaurant is the standard I will hold every future service experience up to. Please do yourself a favor and have an exceptional dinner at First and Oak.

This place is so good and the service was so amazing. Everything my boyfriend and I ate were so good. We did the 5 course meal and spilt it between each other and it was so good. We did the local wine pairing with our food and it was so amazing. We are definitely coming back.

1. Food outstanding. 2. Background music was crap and distracting. 3. I didn't realize babies were invited - also distracting. 4. Only one restroom. 5. Hard surfaces amplify sound so we often had to shout to be heard.
