It is currently 1:38 in the afternoon. I called the post office to ask why they gave my things away to someone else - And although they're supposed to be open, they are closed right now and nobody answers the phone. Instead of receiving my parcel, I got a notice saying it was left by the garage - I DON'T HAVE A GARAGE AND THEY KNOW THAT.
Decades of lousy service AND I KNOW WHY.
Another notice I receive all too frequently states I need to provide a code. I don't need to provide squat. No code is necessary. Never has been. It's a Mailbox. It seems these people will tap any button to issue any variety of excuses rather than do their job correctly.
The people who are really in charge of this PostOffice tolerate synthetic identities using those PostOffice boxes to legitimize their presence as real human beings. This has been happening since I moved in in 2003 -- This is a criminal act. I'm sickened and disgusted by the crappy service And willingness to break the law.
Now who's gonna pay me back for my contents of my parcel? Will anyone accept responsibility for perpetual crappy service? I doubt it.
Is any federal entity currently investigating the illegal conduct going on at this post office?? (I think the answer is, PROBABLY)
Within a basic commercial background search of this post office's phone number one finds very curious oddities. One finds at least nine different names Of seemingly unrelated people Who have in common exactly two addresses each. Some of the names have lived SOLELY in many East Coast locations, and they also share the same two California addresses. One Address is the Valley Springs California PostOffice and the other is Somerset, California PostOffice. So unless there is some direct correlation regarding Job transfers between Valley Springs and Somerset, and every single one of those people Who previously used the address of the Valley Springs post office (NOT a post office box number. The actual post office address without a box number) were then directly employed in the SomersetPostOffice immediately after Valley Springs, then we have an ugly problem here.
Consumers and citizens we DO have a problem of a criminal nature. I have personally investigated dozens of names of claimed Renters of PostOffice boxes here in my little town of Somerset (population <3K). Guess what? They are synthetic identities.
The United States Postal Service procedural handbook is very clear that a postmaster is to require valid ID and a piece of mail or something associating them to a valid address. This is not happening in Somerset CA though. I have a list of addresses that are claimed to be the physical addresses by the synthetic identities - Guess what? Two are right in front of my house and they don't freakin' exist. They are literally conjured and postmasters for decades have tolerated this. I am sick of receiving subpar service because it is me, TERRY A. MEDINA, who complains about this CRIMINAL ACTIVITY and I am sick of my items being sent who knows where and me losing money because I am the squeaky wheel.
I cannot possibly be the only person who knows what is going on in this formerly nice town. I know some are involved in this criminal enterprise And I know others are simply looking the other way. In my book, if you tolerate it, you are one of them and you are also equally criminal.
I will continue being the squeaky wheel, WITHOUT HESITATION. .
To All Post Masters spanning the past 2+ decades...YOU'RE WELCOME!
(I think a smart criminal would've ensured a job well done instead of drawing negative attention with crappy service...just sayin')

Always provided the kindest and friendliest service by the usps staff here , they often go out of their way to help or correct an issue. Have been a customer of this post office for about 10 years. Special thanks to John who is just about always working and my mail lady Tiffany . They're the best.

They never answer their phone and when one must drive 18miles R/T it would be nice to try and resolve some issue via phone. I have called numerous times with no answer spending over an hour repeat calling on one day and 20 minutes today and no answer. The people are nice in person but maybe they should try answering their phone instead of just ignoring it.

Horrible. They refuse to turn a package over to me. The lock for the package box doesn’t work. I told them this morning in person. Their rep actually went out and put the key back in my mail box. Took a video of the lock not working this evening and went back to the post office. They didn’t believe I knew how to use a key so I had them watch the video. Oh, I guess the carrier will have to get it tomorrow they said.

This post office is absolutely horrible, one older guy in general and some older lady who has a smart attitude and thinks she knows everything, 80% of time they can not find my package until days later, very unorganized, and often leave my packages in someone else's p.o. box, they are horrible and i am at whits end with these people, a new younger generation that knows how to work with modern technology is much needed here!! They need to retire.

I have had numerous packages that I had to pick up and never once have I had any issues. The people have always been very nice. I prefer going here to any other post office because of the people who work here.

The Somerset Post Office, Somerset,California is the craziest postal service I have ever dealt with. First try calling them. Repeatedly the phone rings five times and goes to disconnect. Let alone the strange hours and closures. And mail delivery? Probably. Don't order packages. They cannot fit them in the vehicle. I get reports from Amazon that "Delivery Attempted ". Uh no. They don't deliver packages. Come get them. Today I was promised delivery of my packages after complaining but it didn't happen. Odd Business

The post master is rude. She bad mouths me to everyone. I've always been nice to her and gave her no reason to be passive aggressive towards me. She likes to make sure my mail is in the wrong box. She said don't be like me and order a whole bunch of stuff online. She doesn't want to do her job. She feels overly entitled. If there was another post office I wouldn't use this one but I have no choice. If you want to make this place better then you need to reassess your leadership.

Top notch service here. Employee was friendly, helpful, funny AND informative. The exact opposite of the surly, unhelpful, rude and incompetent employees who work at the placerville post office off main street.

Firstly they don't keep regular business hours. 9:30 to 4:30 pm is odd and the 1:00 to 2:00 pm lunch just make no sense. Showed up a couple minutes late the other day with something important to mail and the door was closed and I could see the customers standing around talking and I was denied entry. In my experience this is the most inept post office I have ever encountered. Not recommended.

Just bought a house in the area. Filed 3 change of address forms (2 online with usps with completed confirmations and one physical). We had mail delivered for about a week then it stopped. When we went to the post office the women in charge was extremely aggressive and confrontational from the start. Stated we will not receive mail until we take the correct steps to change our address and put new number (of the appropriate size) on our mailbox.
