Woman manager is very unfriendly, unpleasant to work with. People in line often complain about her, so it is not just me. I dread seeing her! Sometimes I will go away and come back later to avoid her.

Today it was an 18 minute wait in line for the pharmacist, with 3 people in front of me and 5 behind me waiting. Be it over the phone or in person they're usually crabby and they have terrible communication. Example; be it a new medication, a medication that was covered by insurance but is no longer, or something they are out of, they don't communicate it with you by calling. One has to wait in line to find out. Safeway in Sac, was always on top of my refills, here I have to call and ask for a refill for every single one. Most of the clerks look like a disgruntled, overworked carnie. But a few are almost friendly.

The pharmacist was just fine - pleasant and professional. But the manager provided very poor customer service and was very haughty. I believe she also made an error about our insurance coverage and charged me $50 for a vaccine that should have been free. I took my 98 year old dad (blind and mobility impaired) in for a vaccine. We were informed that there would be a $50 copay. I explained that my mom - with identical insurance- had the same vaccine 2 weeks ago at a different Safeway pharmacy and there was no copay. The manager was unhelpful, unfriendly and uncaring. She refused to call the insurance to straighten out the confusion so I did but after 45 minutes on hold I gave up and said we’d just pay the $50. The manager then told me I’d have to get in the (lengthy and slow moving) prescription line to pay even though we had already been there for over 45 minutes and my dad was extremely fatigued. I subsequently spoke with another friend who just got the same vaccine at CVS with Medicare (same as my parents) for no copay. Needless to say we will not return to this pharmacy. I’d rate it just one star but added a star for the nice pharmacist.

Went to this pharmacy for lower prices ( using a a GoodRx coupon). The clerk was very rude and brusque in her interaction with me. Inspite of the price I would't go back!

I like the Safeway Pharmacy on 41st because it is convenient and fast - there is usually a very short line unlike other pharmacies. There are also private rooms to get vaccinated. The staff is mostly polite and attentive. You can easily get someone on the phone when you call.

The pharmacist name John was unwilling to fill my pain medication due to his reasoning that there was no diagnosis on the script from my oral surgeon. My oral surgeon called and requested this medication. A script was sent and the pharmacist acknowledged it as well. John the pharmacist after hearing my story about my oral surgery and knowing of the reasonable communication between my surgeon through the proper methods, was unmoved and uninterested regarding my post op pain or condition. John was unapologetic and really didn't care about the human on the other end of the phone. Just a number, even after to talking to meThe new normal of customer service is short attention span, and poor tolerance for real life issues people matters...general disregard I wish John the same luck with oral surgery and pain management and hopes he gets the same customer service I was so lucky to have.

Honestly this pharmacy should be shut down it is the worst pharmacy I have ever encountered in my entire life. My last two interactions here have convinced me that these people are either evil or incompetent or both. In the last circumstance they gave me the wrong medication, While being incredibly rude about it. In the current situation they are refusing to advance me two pills of a medication because "I have never gotten the medication they're only at another Safeway in Sacramento" I just moved here for crying out loud. Apparently my doctor would not want me to take this medication in Santa Cruz exclusively. This makes absolutely no sense to me. The pharmacist was so rude to me I could not believe it. My present mission is to find another pharmacy. This place is a No go!

Horrible staff! They act like you are inconveniencing them with their time when you try and pick up meds. So many times have I gone to pick up when I was told meds would be ready and they said come back tomorrow which I did and then they say oh we have to order that medicine it’ll be another 3 days.. are you kidding me.. it’s common prescription that I’ve been waiting on for 6 days now and need it to live. The poofy longer haired blonde lady that claims she’s the manager (which she’s not) is the absolute rudest employee I’ve ever dealt with. I will NEVER come here again, it was convenient because I live in the area but I’d rather go further out then have to deal with them one more time!

I found the pharmacy tech's and John the pharmacist, quite helpful in facilitating my prescription transfer from Walgreens to this Safeway pharmacy.

The 41st ave Safeway is consistently the rudest about denying customers at the door up to 10 minutes before their set time to lock doors and be closed . Even their website avetiising that they are still open for business won't help you as you go to the automatic doors and find the are not swinging open . And if you are lucky enough to get an employee to answer your knock . They have no qualms about treating you as if you are the most unwanted , unwelcome intrusion of all times. I was just about called stupid and incapable of understanding basis English as well as simple disappointing bull when I explained how really most stores let u in up until closing time.

Compared to CVS, I like this pharmacy because it’s never very busy. With that said, the staff doesn’t mind making you wait. They know you are there waiting and all of them are just doing other stuff most of the time. I’ve been going there for several years and I mostly have a decent overall experience. Other thing that I probably dislike the most about this pharmacy is that the place closes for an hour during lunch. Really? That’s poor management and service. There’s ways to keep the place running at lunch

I'm rating the Staff, the Accuracy, and the Hours, for this review. I am NOT RATING, Safeway Corp., who thinks that one pharmaceutical technical can run the entire thing on a weekend; I boast bout his/her ability to do do that, in fact!

Don't get me wrong Safeway is my store I love everything from there, specially the self service they have available for everyone. If I would choose to shop at a store, Safeway would be my number one store to go to. Today I experienced something different, as I was waiting in line for the self checkout, (I was next)the lady working at the self checkout came to the front of the line and said to wait that there was someone else in front of me, she asked her to come to the self checkout line closest to Starbucks and the lady answered that she was already working on her groceries at another booth, so the the worker Cheryl or something like that wanted to let the person behind me go before me. Like Really, good thing the lady said I was next, anyways she had no other choice but to say ok go ahead. So while I'm checking out my light starts blinking due to a cantaloupe so instead of coming to help me she just stood there not wanting to help me. Soon after someone else's light starts blinking and she walked to help them out, then returns back to her spot trying to cover her name up, not knowing I had already seen it. I definitely felt like I was somehow being discriminated by her, it felt awful, but she didn't care so that's why I decided to write about her on Yelp.

Some of the most unprofessional service I ever encountered at a Safeway store...I wait in the ridiculous long line for self checkout...as I'm about to go to the next open self checkout register...the woman working up front decides to let an elder gentleman cut right in front of everyone who've been patiently waiting in line....after that I decided just to leave the items I was going to purchase on top of a closed register and leave....no excuse whatsoever for these overly long lines and the lack professionalism. Time to call corporate.
