Was in there this weekend 4th of July, looking for a belt tensioner for a Volvo Penta boat engine.. autozone and O’reillys could not help “is you don’t have the part number of car / truck model we can’t help you” the engine is actually just a 5.7 GM V8.. anyway I went to Napa and Jeremy help use figure a part. Saved our entire 4th weekend..

Worst group of auto experts you could imagine. We bought some Snow Tire Chains during a storm up in S Lake Tahoe. Breeg , a 10 year veteran working there came out to the van to be sure to get the correct size and we paid way more it turns out than we should have. The "expert" according to the Store Manager Mark who checked the tire size sold us the wrong size chains. We were desperate for chains in that weather. Turned out they were the wrong sized chains altogether. We trudged through that snow storm until one of the chains came off and we went back to talk to Napa when they said you need a different size snow chain. In the meanwhile their wrong sized chains damaged the wheel well, running board and trim on the van. For the last 6 months Mark said they would help fix the damage. Mark did make so many excuses why it was taking so long and then started hanging up the phone on us when we asked what was going on. Complete flakiness, irresponsible, waste of so much time, lying NAPA representatives. Then finally their risk mng person Ms Silvia from Sacramento said she would meet at an Auto Repair Shop in Tahoe and went to the appt when she called to say NAPA wasn't responsible because we bought the correct size after all the damage to the van was done from that 1st set of chains at the same NAPA store. Didn't make any sense whatsoever. Silvia threatened us with calling the police if we asked any questions at the NAPA store ! Take us to court, she says . Don't buy anything from these guys . They do not know what they are selling you. They wouldn't even refund the cost of the wrong sized set of chains when we came in during the next snow storm . We still had to buy the correct size. Since the storm was so bad we couldn't drive any further. So we bought the correct size from them because of their promise to help with the repairs that their employee sold us , which of course they never helped fix the damage NAPA caused as they had promised to do? Silvia the district manager said she would fix what their employee neglected to do the first time by replacing the chains for the correct size, and fix the damage which was done to our vehicle as a result of the salesperson selling us a totally wrong size set of chains. On the way to the meeting with Silvia at the body shop which inspected my car for damage from their chains she canceled our appointment and told us to meet them in court instead. Ridiculous and degenerate.

I go here often to get my parts and am always greeted warmly and the staff is super knowledgeable ! Would definitely recommend this over any other auto parts store in south lake!

How do you get hired at an auto parts store and know absolutely nothing about cars? I asked this guy how do u know when a crankshaft position sensor is bad. he goes "idk I don't work on cars/know about them" I said why are u working at an auto parts store ? he told me not everyone that works at a parts store knows about cars. so I told him you should and he hung up on me. I'll tell you what I'm never going there again. you guys just hire whoever signs the doted line done you.

Talked me out of buying a part I knew I needed. So I didn't buy it there...got it online. Bad customer service is killing the brick and mortar.
