Not a great response. This studio claims to have gone through a rebranding management change, but it's still very problematic. The new name is either Second Set Yoga or Second Set Bikram Yoga. Here is my original email. "I reached out yesterday but I have yet to hear back from your team. I recently signed up for a month of unlimited yoga, but after attending a session I realized it was not a good fit and I would like to cancel my membership and get a refund. First, my class was taught by a recording, which is a safety issue. Due to the heat there needs to be a teacher there to make sure the students are doing the safely to and to make sure we are okay with the extreme heat. Second, the studio has a zero mask policy in class and my vaccination card was not checked when I came into class. Due to the omicron variant that is putting every person present at risk of contracting covid. I have been to other hot yoga studios in Pasadena and they all require that masks be worn or students prove vaccination or both. Lastly, the studio claims to have gone through a rebrand, but is still has quotes of Bikram and considering that he is a person who sexually assaulted his students and then fled the country when that came to light, it is very uncomfortable that you would still promote his words by keeping them over the door. Please respond to this. If there was only one issue I could probably justify the membership, but because there are multiple problems, it would be best if I got a refund. I really do not want to have to dispute the charge, but I will if I don't hear from someone on your team" Remember, Bikram Choudhury did not invent the 26 postures of this yoga, he just trademarked them. So touting him as someone to be respected all things considered is not a great hill to die on. Lastly, ignoring CDC recommendations and claiming "medical freedom" is a lazy excuse for not doing your job to protect students. Do better. Be better.

So sad. I enjoyed practicing here for years! Covid has affected many lives and obviously closed down South Pasadena Bikram Studio. I'm so disappointed that Dennis didn't respond to any of my emails about using or getting credit toward my outstanding yoga passes.

I cannot wait to be back in their hot room again. Pre-Covid, I was coming to this studio 4x's weekly for the last year, and all I can say is the instructors here were BADASS. They were knowledgable and selfless and there was no leniency on opening the door to let some cool air in or taking water breaks other than the few that are allowed. Teachers were very experienced and would call me out on my pose (Dennis is THE best!) and would correct me multiple times until I got it right. There were all types of people, ages, bodies and backgrounds there, of all experience levels. The studio is one-of-a-kind, and the husband/wife owners are lovely. I was so fortunate to call this studio my main practice space! I'm patiently waiting for us to get a handle on Covid, but I'm definitely missing the benefits of the Bikram yoga practice in-studio.

Been coming here for a while but I'm having a hard time patronizing a yoga studio that continues to idolize Bikram. After watching 'Yogi Guru Predator' on Netflix, I'm not comfortable seeing his face all over the place. He's a convicted criminal and an international fugitive! He's a bad man! I hope the owners consider switching things up. Please at least take Bikram's photos down in the women's changing room! Otherwise, I might have to find a new place.

If your thinking about trying Bikram Yoga for the first time, this place is an okay studio. Get ready to sweat, because they keep the room extremely hot! I came here after purchasing the Groupon deal. I bought six classes, and only completed 3 classes. The classes are 90 minutes long, and felt that it was a bit long to be in a heated room. I also wasn't a fan of a particular instructor, since one of them was rude on correcting their clients. Tips for beginners: - Bring your own yoga mat, water, and towel. They do not provide these items for free. Nor do they have a water dispenser. - The studio is upstairs - Plenty of street parking, and located in the rear - Arrive early, since the studio gets pack pretty quickly.

I've taken classes from three different instructors at this location and have enjoyed them all. I like the straight forward style instruction and the encouraging and supportive environment.

Nice studio. Nice people running it. Go check it out. I didn't really like hot yoga the first time I tried it. But I stuck with it. And now I really enjoy practicing yoga in the hot room.

Location: for first timers, it's upstairs on the north side of street. I took Dennis' class as a first timer in Bikram. What did I get myself into? I forgot my clothes and towel and the studio was so nice to lend them to me. Such generosity is deeply appreciated. I have taken hot yoga at other places before. Just know, that you will be in a humid hot room, like Florida or southeast asia and working out in short hold poses, each repeated twice usually. .....I love it!! In the middle, I started to question why I was here. I didn't know if I was going to last the entire 90 minutes. Didn't know if my body can physically be upside down (head down, knees on floor, hands on ground) in such extreme temperature. I thought I was going to die. Did I make it sound really bad? hehe. Well, it's not like slow flow vinyasa, aerial dance, easy relaxing hot yoga I am used to taking. Half the poses I have not done before. I'm not going to say this class is easy. But nothing worthwhile is easy. The benefits of this class is weight loss for sure (water weight), get more flexible, increased patience, meditation, physical ability beyond your belief if you just listen and do. Don't doubt yourself, you can do it! Really enjoyed the back archey poses, dancers pose and all the one legged poses I couldn't do and fall out of. We are here to challenge ourselves and get our mind out of thinking, and just doing with the help of heat and Dennis' instructions. The people here are amazing and generous. Teacher Dennis is fantastic and you can tell he has been teaching for a long time. Tip: Bring water, towel, and rubber yoga mat if possible so your hands don't slip. I even saw someone wear weight lifting gloves (not a bad idea). Bring change of clothes because you will sweat so much like you just took a swim in your clothes. lol

Best studio ever for a hot yogi. All the classes are 90 minutes and taught by fantastic teachers!
