“Utterly charmed by this place. After eating an incredible, smoky bowl of split pea - which John (the owner) made on the spot on his gas stove behind the register - for $3.75, I bought some grocery staples and a few treats. While shopping, I marveled at the hand-packed "leftovers" stored in the wood-paneled refrigerator, on sale for a modest $1.75/portion instead of being thrown out. A business as personal and homey as Oh Happy Day is a marvel these days. I feel gratitude and respect for John and the space he's fostered. Will be back many times.”

“This store is Great. The staff is AMAZING. Went in yesterday and they were so helpful and patient with me. The store has plenty of varieties to pick from I felt a bit better than going to the market. Usually always get my WIC at the market especially the veggies because it's diff you don't have to get a whole bunch u can get single (like banana, avocado, apples etc...) But I found you can do this here too on some items. The veggie selection is ??. Plus you get a gift with a certain amt purchased. (At least when using your WIC)The only downfall is they don't carry gallons of milk only half gallons. But they have Milk so ?? yay.I definitely loved the staff the girl that helped me was so nice and the manager was cool too.”

“Good place to get some juices and açaí bowls. It has a few locations including this Silver Lake one on Sunset. Naturewell has a crap ton of healthy options. A good way to start off the morning or a good snack for later. The prices aren't that bad for this kind of thing. A few locations of this are around. It's got one in the Sunset Junction area with all the shops and everything. The bowls are the way to go. It's about $10 for an Açaí Bowl. This comes with bananas, berries, coconut, and granola. Basic toppings for a bowl. The other popular items include juices and smoothies. Also you can get a cup of fresh fruit. There's also snacks like protein bars and good stuff. Best place around here as far as the prices for açaí bowls. It's a pretty good portion. There's plenty to get for vegans and vegetarians.”

“I had such a wonderful experience with sales associate James. I was having a sleeve gastrectomy surgery and was told by my surgeon to purchase certain vitamins that I'd have to be taking indefinitely. James spent so much time explaining things about each vitamin in detail that even my surgeon didn't tell me about. For example I didn't know I was supposed to take my calcium twice daily instead of once. He was very professional and kind. I'm glad I drove from Burbank to this La Crescenta location and do not regret my drive! Thank you James!”

I personally like how the vegetables aren't over sprayed/drenched in water here. The store is always well stocked, there's a speedy check out, and they're patient with you.If you're new to this and are hesitant to come to a Mother's Store, don't!! Just do it! It beats running around a regular grocery store looking for the items you qualify for. Here, they greet you, you get all your benefits within 5 minutes, plus you get a free item (whatever veggies are in stock) and the cherry on top is that they put everything in your car!
