Prices are great. The owner is most knowledgeable. My daughter and I love to shop here for all of our ballet needs.

The store inventory is pretty good but I was disappointed in the customer service. I bought dance shoes for our daughter and told the staff member I spoke to I wasn't sure if my daughter was still the same size as the previous year and asked if I should bring her in to get fitted. The staff member I spoke to said: "Don't worry, if they don't fit, you can bring them back anytime." When only a few days later I came back (still carrying the receipt) I was told that they do store credit only even after I said that that was never explained to me when I asked about returns. This particular pair of shoes was $30 and as a working Mom I didn't appreciate losing that much money due to no fault of my own (and there isn't much to use store credit for since they only carry limited dance apparel items). Since the store is in the incredibly wealthy area of South Pasadena, this policy also smacked of classicism. If you want to support a small business with great customer service, I would recommend Gigi's Closet in Pasadena instead.

The service is always great. I buy dance shoes as well as the most AMAZING, long lasting, nude fishnets there. There is literally no comparison. Please support this wonderful local business. They're prices are better than their competitors.

Alice is so knowledgeable and fun to be around. I love coming in with my daughter when she needs to pick something up. It's a classic shop with a charming history and feel.

I had a lovely experience here with the staff, in order to craft a perfect outfit for my daughter. Everything was clean, and we got out quickly with a lovely outfit. I would recommend this to anyone in the Pasadena or greater LA area!

Advice: Use expert-in-store associates to help you get proper fitting dance shoes. Red Shoes HAS these kind-attentive experts! It's worth the drive and buying right the first time! I could have bought dance shoes online, but never known that the shoes were 2 sizes up from my normal size. Avoid the BIG online oops! Let Red Shoes get you the proper fit in one visit ? ? ? ? ? ? Helpful store hours; must get street parking.

Will not be going back. When a business lacks customer service etiquette, how do you stay in business? My daughter and I were completely ignored the whole time we were there. I understand the sales person was with another customer, but no one is that busy not to even acknowledge a customer walking in. A simple “hello” or”I’ll be right with you” is all it takes to keep a customer. Instead, we were flat out ignored. You lost our business that day and in the future.

This is he cutest little store. There was a group of older ladies when I arrived here promptly at 1pm. The shop's sales person told me that the bunch of ladies there were all just there to hang out and talk. No matter. I was there to mainly take a look around at what they had. I was able to find my lil girl some tights for tonight's ballet class. Somehow the pair she had went missing and our nearest 3 Target locations didn't have 'em in her size. We also have been looking for better ballet shoes for my lil one. So this preliminary visit was a good one for us to be able to take a look and to see if they might have her size in stock. We got some good suggestions and we'd like to return soon with our little one so that we can get her fitted for some shoes. (I will admit there was a kind of odor in the air in the shop. I don't know if it was coming from a particular person or if it might have been coming from the bunch of older adults there who often release more CO2 and therefore there's a different "scent" of people of that age range. Who knows, just be aware and be kind.) Parking can be difficult as there is only street parking. I got lucky and was able to find a spot. This quaint little area is so nice to take a stroll through. If you have ballet needs, definitely come here. I feel like if they aren't able to help you, they might be able to steer you towards the right direction at least.

We felt completely disrespected and ignored. Which was great after walking a half mile due to there being no parking what so ever. The selection in the store was bizmal at best and filthy inside.

I needed ballet essentials for my daughter's first ballet class and was lucky to be able to go to The Red Shoes. Alice is so knowledgeable, I love supporting a local small business, and it was even more meaningful because it's been around long enough that I got my dance supplies there as a kid. It is a local gem!
