My Tax Advisor, Brenda L from H&R Block SSF, is AWESOME! I made a mistake in going with a new person recommended by my Financial Planner for my 2021 taxes. It was more expensive AND not a smooth as working with Brenda. For 2022 tax year, I went back to Brenda who quickly did my taxes and walked me through it. I love H&R block's website and options for working with Tax Advisors. I'm a happy customer!

Absolutely my worst ever experience of 'filing' tax returns. We worked with two different tax specialists and both of them were atrocious with their communication and follow through.We had several years of pending tax returns and really needed the help to get everything sorted. I had come in through a referral and approached them when it wasn't peak tax season. I had moderate expectations that everything would get resolved here.Instead we got poor communication, incomplete work and were just left hanging for months / years. And NO, let's not blame all delays on the pandemic, we eventually went to another HR Block in San Leandro and managed to get everything done in 2 sittings and a couple emails.I would give 0 or negative stars if that were possible.

Had my 2018/19 taxes filed by the company. They provide the IRS with my bank account number@ Wells Fargo. IRS sent funds to H&R Block to a pooled account where the filing fees are deducted H&R Block sent to the IRS the pooled account number instead of the correct bank account information The stimulus checks were to be directly deposited into my account Given the wrong account information Wells Fargo returned the stimulus money to the IRS. Checking the Get My Payment app the $600 amount was to be mailed January 5th 2021. I recieved the check issued from H&R Block, February 25. The last stimulus amount of $1400 was to be deposited March 17th, once again wrong account number was given to Wells Fargo which they returned to the IRS. Get My Payment says payment mailed April 2nd. As of now haven't received the check. I have spoken with an IRS agent who explained the information of what H&R Block provided them. Contacted district manager for the company asking for compensation for the major inconvenience was offered a modest refund for fee for the filing which is not nearly enough to compensate for the time and stress involved. Was told my case was isolated .Follow up Nina from H&R block made a comment encouraging me to call customer support, which I did. A waste of my time. If H&R Block truly wanted to resolve the issue. I would have been contacted by now

A little bit of a pain using their automated appointment system then waiting over 7 minutes for a live operator w/o an answer and a 1/2 confirmation then learn on day of it wasn't confirmed or recorded.On the positive: they got me in fairly fast over the phone when I communicated with a LIVE PERSON. Once there it was quick to meet a tax person who helped and got done fairly quickly and the end price was fairly reasonable..though a bit high but finding I get faster and more refunds with a paid service than a free one even if it's fairly simple

I've read some of the reviews about Claudia Spears, Sr Tax Consultant with H&R Block and all I can say is that she is a wonderful human being, very knowledgeble, kind, considerate, funny and compassionate. She is VERY good at what she does. The negative comments about her (in my opinion) come from already angry people who carry a grudge against everyone and everything. Claudia has done our taxes for the past ten years and never have we had a problem. She is a professional but she also has become a friend. We HIGHLY recommend her.
