“I LOVE skyy moving! they’ve helped me move twice now and both times they were complete lifesavers. they were super efficient and handled all of my things with care! they would tape and bubble wrap all of my things, including my pet gates so they would be protected during the move. I’ve had pretty difficult buildings (one with a really old SF style elevator with two gates to maneuver) and one with stairs and both times the movers were such professionals. they had a system and were so efficient, deconstructing my furniture and seamlessly reconstructing it in the new place. they handled my belongings with such care; none of my furniture was damaged and they even helped rearrange it once we got to the new place. even after the move, they made sure to check with me to make sure all my belongings were out of the truck and into the apartment. they’re incredibly punctual and always showed up at the exact time we discussed. honestly so grateful for these movers. would DEFINITELY recommend.”

Shamrock packed my house, stored my furniture for 6 months, then when I finally found my new place to live, they delivered and unpacked everything. My furniture was wrapped with protective blankets and arrived with no damage. The whole team was so polite and accommodating. “I met George before the pandemic and he was helping us receive items ordered by our designer- They would store them and deliver them when we were ready. During the pandemic he was short staffed and could not help us, but they have always been response. I recently contacted him to get a moving quote and he was here on the day and time he said he would. We have not yet decided which company we will go with but I am very happy with their customer service so far. He is very straight forward.”

“Preparing for an art show at Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Museum contacted Ship Art to pick up the art pieces arriving from California. They arrived as estimated, wrapped the piece for traveling across country, talked about their system and when it would arrive in Philadelphia (in time). Watching us wrap the art to wear piece, they offered to wrap it in a box they had and we watched as they expertly took care of wrapping the art to wear. They just returned the piece after the close of the show, and it looks great, and we kept their box to protect it. We were contacted of the return date and time window and someone had to be at the address, and we were. Ship Art is a responsible, very professional company. Communication is very important.”

“I have moved twelve times over the past 60 years, from New York to Boston, then to CA, then to New Orleans, then back to MA, then to ME, then to Seattle, then to CA again, and locally twice. The last move I had handled by A1 Movers out of San Francisco was by far, flat out the best move of them all. And this saga includes two of the nation's largest and most respected long-haul carriers.

Every single facet of the move, planning, packing, and the move, was handled with professional courtesy and exceptionally well done work. Each of the men, especially the bossman Peter, were polite, hard-working, knowledgeable, and dedicated to getting things done right. They even came back a couple days later to help put things in better placement in my home - at no charge.

I find it absolutely incredible and totally without belief that someone could or would accuse them of stealing something. Each and every one of the men I met were unfailingly helpful, courteous, and hard working. Some of the other moves had teams that were in a hurry because they were late, or part-time employees they picked up locally to help offload or did not follow the precise directions I asked up front to complete things. Peter and his team were flawless.

I found out later that the place into which I moved has about 8 other residents who used their service. I have spoken to a number of them all of whom feel as I do. That the management here recommended them is not just a coincidence.

I was moving a large amount of glass and they were careful with each box, even with needing to bring them down old brick stairs. They worked efficiently and quickly. “3.5* rounding upReservation ProcessRented mid-sized truck for 1000mi+ one-way rental. Unlimited miles. I found that cheapest rate was several months in advance, or very last minute, two days out. Therefore, I suggest, since there is no cancellation penalty on the reservation, make a reservation as soon as you know you need one, then keep "gardening" your reservation, to checking one last time just more than 24 hours before you need rental to see if you can get better rate. Within 24 hours they'll give you a warning saying "we can't guarantee availability" of your equipment or something to that effect. Still, it was over $1,500 for just the truck, no accessories or insurance included.PickupMy truck was ready on-time though they were busy. Busy enough that the guy pulling the truck out didn't want to count the number of furniture pads. I told him 3x "as long as I leave with X number of pads I need and am not hassled at the other Penske when I return, I'm fine." So, he kept adding more pads. Glad I kept repeating same line...there was one more than the number of pads I needed and one fewer than how many I had rented. What I didn't see is that the pads he did give me were covered in plastic cling and packing tape which my workers wasted 20 minutes undoing and discarding. Save yourself the hassle, and no matter how busy they are here, have them count the number of pads for you and check they're in ready-to-use condition.TruckWas relatively new with under 30k miles. They do have a speed governor installed which limits you below the limits in many states for vehicles of that size, though it probably does give you better fuel economy. Governor limits cruise control to 70mph. It limits overall vehicle speed to 75mph. Cab is typical and smelled strongly of BO. I don't think I've ever rented a truck like this that didn't reek of BO though. A/C worked well in the heat, which was a relief. But there was no re-circ on the air so passing through smoky areas or dusty areas or idling in traffic fumes was no fun. Fuel economy was at the upper end of the range with a 2k lbs load and driving 55-70mph over a couple of sets of mountains, we got 11.5+ mpg.Overall, not a bad process, but there are a few issues of which to be aware. And hey, it could be a lot worse...uhaul has set the floor tremendously low.”
