I attempted to work with this company to move from one office to another in the financial district in San Francisco. At first, the company was responsive and it appeared as though I had found a good company though the price they quoted for moving two (2) small pieces of furniture one mile down the road ($650) was extremely high. Still, I agreed to that price because figured competence and responsiveness was worth the high price to avoid the stress. I was wrong.This morning, on the morning of my scheduled move, I get the following rude and unprofessional email from Ken, the owner:"Happy Friday and your moving day. Yes we have many years of experience and I am not one bit surprised we now have to go back a redo this task, spending yet more time and effort on the move booking process.If you remember we specifically asked you for a PDF from the building stating the exact insurance requirements. Instead you sent over a copy / pasted line in the email and said will this work? We assumed you copy / pasted the content directly from their document of requirements and the content was thorough. As we can all see, it was not.So rather than do this a 2nd time, then it is wrong again, and then we have to do it 3rd time, I am going to lean into my 12 years of experience, and I will have to demand a PDF email attachment from the building which states their exact insurance requirements. Please send over this attachment ASAP so I can request a correct COI and waiver of subrogation from our insurance company.Many thanks,Ken MarleyOwner - SFSM"I immediately called the owner to ask why he felt he needed to send such an email and he became immediately defensive and dismissive. He told me he had "better things to do on a Friday night," cancelled my move scheduled for today, and hung up on me.DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The owner Ken obviously has some serious issues, mental, personal, and professional.I'm sure Ken may have some rude and snarky remark to make about me in response to this review but that certainly says more about him as a person than it does about me and is further insight into how he is to deal with.

Would also not recommend. Booked 2.5 weeks in advance. They kept pushing time back to 6 pm. The mover's didn't call me until the next day at 4 pm to say they were there. I needed to be out by 9 am and ended up spending an extra 600 bucks on last minute mover (lugg -- in case they flake on you). Worst thing about this was how rude they were in response to their tardiness and complete disregard for movers. Schedule with company who will be professional

Save yourself the time and stress, this is terrible moving company. They damaged my property and also stole an expensive bicycle. Do yourself a favor and use another moving company.

I used these guys for my move and they took my bicycle. I moved within a 10 mile radius and I noticed some of my items went missing. I reached out to the management and they offered no help. When they showed up I showed them my bikes and asked them to make sure they move it safely. Then next day I noticed the bike went missing. They first claimed they never picked it up, then they claimed they left it in the garage and maybe it was stolen because I left the garage open (I didn't). Do not use these guys, they will steal your properties.

Worst moving experience of my life. Not only did they state that my bed was defected and they couldn't put it back together but the movers were 2 hours late to arrive and they billed me an additional hour (it should of only been a 3 hour job...only needed a bedroom moved because I live with roommates) of which they were trying to put the bed back together and they never did. I was able to get a handyman through task rabbit to come in to quickly reassemble the bed in about 20 minutes. I asked the owner to refund me the extra hour the team took to try and reassemble the bed and he mentioned he would if he can get a description of the job. I sent over the receipt and the responses I received were disgraceful. You can see them attached below. I ended up ending the conversation since I did not want to talk to someone that talks to anyone in this manner. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I would give them zero stars if I could.

Amazing service! Was recommended to this company by a coworker who recently used them for his move. We used SF Small Moves to move out of our San Mateo apartment into a storage facility. Rafael and Gustavo were punctual, efficient, and treated all of our items with care. They even take donations for everything from chairs, to blankets, and canned foods. There's a church nearby that they donate the items to. We hope to use y'all again when we move to our permanent location.

San Francisco Small Moves helped us move from our apartment in San Francisco to our new home southern California. We were getting outrageous quotes from other moving companies and decided to go with SF Small Moves due to their fair pricing, quick response, and flat rate quote. Then it was moving day & tension was high (on our end)... but Luis & crew came in and made the process seamless. They were extremely kind, hardworking, and communicative along every step of the way. They had our apartment fully packed in ~2 hours on a Thursday, and our items arrived in Southern California the following morning! I was blown away by their hustle and their care for our items. I would 100% use this company again and 100% recommend them to anyone looking for great movers. Thanks, SF Small moves!

100% fantastic COVID moving experience. They showed up in masks, had great distancing protocols, and were extremely efficient. There we're some difficult pieces of furniture which they handled with ease. They communicated extremely well throughout the process, and had very fair prices. Great small business, would 100% recommend.

I wish I could give this company zero stars. I come from a family who owned a prominent SF moving company and was raised with movers, so I'm well aware what to expect. Needless to say, this company did not meet expectations. I will not pass much of the blame on the movers, though they were clearly very inexperienced, I hold the owner responsible. Ken Marley is very rude and condescending to his customers. My husband hired this company for our move and we're completely overcharged for this company's mishaps. Our contract stated we would receive two 26 ft trucks and we received two 16 footers, due to this alone, the drivers had to take two trips to and from to bring our belongings. The drivers also took 3 hours to get from our new house to our old on the second trip, should have only taken an hour, meaning the drivers took a two hour lunch. Mind you, that lunch was charged as part of our time as well. The drivers were also drinking during their work time and we have neighbors that witnessed this. All of the many variables (not all have been mentioned in this review) that caused the overage of time was brought to Kens attention via multiple emails and he continuously found ways to pass the blame on the customer and refused to refund the overage amount. After this experience I decided to read a few other negative reviews written on Yelp and it seems this is not a one off situation. Which each review I read, ken would reply very rudely and condescending to the customer. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!!!

Kicking off 2021 with praises for San Francisco Small Moves (SFSM). Moving is already stressful enough, but moving during the pandemic around the holidays takes anxiety to another level. Luckily, my moving experience went smoothly. Earlier this past summer, I was helping my friend move, who also used SFSM. I got to meet and interact with 3 (Gustavo, Eric, and Rafael) staff members who were very efficient and nice. When it was my turn to move the week before Christmas, I called 3 places to get quotes and SFSM had the best rates, and easy to understand terms with no additional fees or costs. A couple of competitors wanted to charge an expensive service fee, which is confusing to me because isn't your product the service?! I chose the package of 2 hours for $360 based on the amount of stuff I have and SFSM's recommendation during my intake call. Reservation and contract agreement were completed electronically. On the day of the event, Gustavo and Rafael showed up on time and ready to roll. Everything was loaded within 25 minutes and about 35 minutes from San Francisco to East Bay (thankful for no traffic), parked and unloaded in a timely manner. Thank you SFSM for everything. If I need to move again in the future, you'll be the first company I call! #1/2021

They were over three hours late (letting me know 5 minutes after they were actually supposed to arrive). That was pretty much my only complaint, but it's still quite a big one. Once they actually arrived they did a pretty good job -- wrapped all the furniture snugly in blankets and foil, and maneuvered it all through my pretty tight hallways without damaging anything. They didn't want to wrap my mattress in foil because it was "too expensive for such a big item", even though they happily wrapped 3+ layers around the sofa. Kinda silly, but okay, I get it, you have to upsell your $15 mattress bags somehow. $360 buys you 3 guys and a decent sized truck for 2 hours, which is quite a bit cheaper than even Lugg. For that cost, it's definitely good value. Would probably hire again, but I do hope they'd stick to the schedule better next time.

I couldn't recommend this team more! Outstanding communication, very friendly crew, and handled our belongings with care. We moved from SF to Oakland. Support local, people! We had several huge items I was super concerned about a few of our large items, one being a 150lbs credenza. Ken and his team knocked it out of the park! Not a scratch. I really appreciated having three movers over two, things went quickly. Having their assistance really reduced a lot of the stress of moving. Worth every penny. Thank you Ken and team for your help, you're awesome!
